My Colette!! Love this discreet, unassuming, charming restaurant. It's asian inspired w some traditional dishes and some more experimental dishes. It's nestled in the Alta/Pas area. Seems to be a local neighborhood spot. There's a little bit of everything for everyone (dim sum, brunch asian twist dishes, etc). The portion are pretty generous. We ended up taking food to go.I particularly like the chilled bittermelon. It's refreshing and helps balance the other more richly decandent dishes.I've been here twice now. Both times, the service was on point and food was consistent. Will be a regular.

Absolutely dreadful. An overwhelming amount of sodium. Kung Pao chicken was so salty, could hardly taste the chicken. Cuts of beef were of poor quality and very fatty. Chicken salad had a lot of skin, and very salty as well. Noodles were soggy.Service was fair. One waiter took our initial order, and never came back. Various servers brought food to the table. Never asked us if we needed anything. Nobody visited the table after the servers. We had to ask the hostess for the check. The hostess and coworkers were terse and rude when approached.Only positives were the bathroom was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant/ not loud. There is ample parking.

It’s a no from me. Service and servers - ok. Food, absolutely NOT.It’s not that the food is bad. It just has absolutely no flavor.Garlic broccoli - ok, not badCrispy stuffed chicken half order - smh.Black truffle fried rice - mehHoney shrimp - no flavor. Bland AFCabbage - ok, not bad.Blueberry crispy yam - must not be a yam. More like yucca or jicama and tasted like bad melon.Cola Wings - Meh, so-so.Presentation for everything was nice - but no compensation for bland and uninteresting flavors.

Very good food. Dim sum options are made to order, the serving size of the dim sum dishes are somewhat larger than others. Crispy stuffed chicken is actually shrimp/pork stuffed between fried crispy chicken skin. Black truffle friend rice is excellent too. Friendly staff. Location is somewhat hard to find because from the outside it kinda looks like a motel. Indoor decor has a Spanish cafe feel to it, which seemed odd, but who cares it's great food.

colette is a solid option for both lunch and dinner in the pasadena area. if you're looking for good asian food , colette has a mix of traditional and more trendy/fusion items on their menu. they have dim sum (their siu mai was on point) and I really enjoyed their tofu and cabbage dishes as well. not too salty or oily. not pictured but they also have salted egg pumpkin which i'm a sucker for. would definitely give it a try!!

greasy, sloppy, and just not appetizing. I don't think I ate more than two bites from each dish we ordered. Didn't seem to have many healthy options to choose from.

This was my first time to the restaurant. I really liked their tofu and garlic kale dishes. I would definitely order them again.

Chic Cantonese restaurant and excellent seafood dishes with a new menu to debut soon by Chef Lai. Stay tuned.

Food price varies a lot but with the cheaper side, ~20ish dollars, it's still pretty affordable. Food tastes, at least the seafood fried noodles and laksa seafood noodle, was a little too bland for my tastes. It feels too watered down compared to traditional Cantonese cuisine (can't speak much to the laksa noodles though). The oolong tea was also very bland, tea leaves tasted overboiled with too much water. Nice service from waiter and nice outdoor patio vibe though. Can't really recommend based on food taste quality but can be an okay spot for those who has lighter palate.

Delicious, authentic food and wonderful ambiance esp in the patio! Great for large parties which can be hard to find. We really enjoyed all the food- exceptional!

We had been wanting to visit this restaurant for months and were not disappointed. Unique chef creations, gourmet contemporary Chinese cuisine, in a relaxing atmosphere. The crispy honey shrimp, braised tofu with mushrooms and garlic kale were all excellent. Highly recommended.

Not worth leaving the Rowland heights area for this. I expected a more gourmet experience. It was ok. Nothing spectacular. Maybe if you have no other Chinese food to eat. Also obviously it is overpriced for what I felt you got and the staff really rushed us so don't even attempt to show up after 8.

Perfect for those who prefer bland food. Amiable service, lovely looking dishes, but no flavor and few sauces to brighten or distinguish the dishes. I did like the sweet pea fronds.

o2.1o.2o24 First day of LNY, and here to celebrate a friend's bday. First of all, I think this place is overrated. I can be almost 100% sure some of the 5-star reviews are from friends and family because that was the only review in their account. Just so you know, this review of mine is going to focus on the food, not the price. Everyone should know how expensive it is from other legit reviews, though I also had no idea how our bill came out to be $700+ for 10 dishes. Lol, but not focusing on that. I didn't see the bill, so I can't tell you much. I only paid for my share and made the bday friend happy. I also didn't make any comments on the food at the table except for the one that no one liked. It's not a very big restaurant. Half of the tables are served at the patio area. I was surprised how much people were waiting in line when I got there. I was thinking, this place must be delicious! Crispy stuff chicken with shrimp paste: I don't remember tasting any meat. Was this only the skin and shrimp paste? It wasn't a satisfying bite as I expected because I love crispy chicken and shrimp paste. Char siu pork: It was ok. You can definitely taste the honey. Chicken stew and lamb stew: You can get it in most Cantonese style restaurants for just as good if not better. The only difference was that the chicken stew added oysters. There was really not much of a difference in taste. The mushroom in the lamb stew was very salty because it soaked up the sauce. Truffle shredded chicken: A lot of people love the taste of truffle, and because of its price, it will make you think you're eating something super fancy. Just know that there are also different grades of truffle. I think the truffle is really overpowering the chicken itself, but overall, this was a decent dish as well. Truffle fried rice: Someone at our table pointed out that the fried rice was very good. Well then, I have to try it. Honestly, in my opinion, it wasn't as good as he expressed. If it wasn't the truffle, this really didn't have enough flavor. Silky chicken soup: Average. Chayote with minced pork: This is probably cooked with 1 chayote that costs 50 cents at most markets. However, it's the dish that my kid enjoyed the most because it's decent and it's green. Scrambled milk: I don't think anyone had this dish before, so we ordered it. Everyone tried it, and that was it. It was left unfinished bc no one liked it. It didn't taste like anything. It doesn't taste like milk since it was pan-fried. If you don't tell me what it was, I really can't tell what it was bc it was very blend even though it was cooked with a few pieces of shrimp. And no, it didn't taste like tofu either. Leopard coral grouper: This was probably charged at market price. It could be one of the most expensive dishes we ordered. The one we got was slightly undercooked. You will know when the meat doesn't completely fall off the bone. It also had a slight bitter taste to it. I think whoever killed the fish might have broke the fish gall so it a little bit got stuck on the fish because once that gets on the fish, it's pretty much impossible to get rid of it since the fish was steamed. I saw a review that it was the best Cantonese food they had... you gonna be joking me.
