“If you go on the 31st of any month, you will get 31% off of your scoops. Even though it was raining heavily on New Year's Eve, off I went with my tribe to get scoops of ice cream. I got one single on a sugar cone. I turn around and the Prince has two scoops in a waffle. Not to be outdone, the Princess asks if she can get the same. Of course. All less than $15. No pictures. It was raining. We were in the car by the time I thought of it. Good deal on the 31 at of months that have 31 days. They stayed open their regular hours and the place was clean.“
“If I could give this location 10 stars I would. I came in to pick up a last min cake for my stepson, not his main birthday cake just a little weekday birthday celebration with his dad and I before the weekends festivities. I expected a small cake with happy birthday. I asked if they had any Spiderman decorations that I could add and the kind gentleman in the front said he would ask the cake designer since he was there. Okay...so can I preface this by saying if they said no or go find one yourself or you need to pre order that, ALL would have been justified and I would have politely purchased my generic cake and been on my way. Nothing more was needed. However the universe decided to bless me with.... JIMMY. This kind man took my order, to my specifications and produced this gem in under 30 min. I REPEAT... he in no way needed to do this, this was an act of kindness, pure and simple. Jimmy you are an angel and I am sooo excited to see the look on my little dudes face when he gets home! “Last minute search for a breakfast/brunch type spot and found Marin Cafe. It's located in an area off of Rosmead that shares a small parking lot with Zapien's Salsa Grill. It is a small lot but there's parking on the other side. I went while it was raining in the morning around 9 so it was pretty empty. The cafe is a small shop with 3 four-seater tables so not good for huge groups. But the decor was really cute and cozy. A mix of cafe and small bakery. Love the painted walls with the cake and bakery items painted on. There was a large display case of various bakery good from conchas, to croissants, to cakes and cake slices. Everything looked so good. Brisa (I hope I didn't spell her name incorrectly, apologies!) was our barista and she was lovely. Very friendly and let us take our time, she answered my bf's questions about the food. We chatted here and there and then placed our orders with her. She kept us updated on our food as they made the wrong sandwich for me and needed to remake it which was no problem and appreciated. The food was delicious! We ordered a concha, with an Abuelita hot latte, a mocha hot latte, breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. Recommend the Abuelita hot latte for sure, perfect on a rainy cold day. The chocolatey spice from the Abuelita was so good with the espresso, the mocha was great as well great blend of chocolate and coffee. Now the breakfast sandwich was bomb, presentation and taste were great. Eggs were hot and fluffy, bacon crispy, with ham, and refreshing tomato avocado and lettuce with a honey mustard type sauce. It also came with a side of potato salad, pickles and banana peppers. The potato salad is EXACTLY how I like it, not mayonnaise-y and sweet. Brekfast burrito was nice and filling too, bf said he'd definitely add bacon next time as mine was crispy in my sandwich hash browns were crispy and the creamy lime cilantro sauce was so good with it. I also ordered a slice of the mocha tres leches cake...so good not overly sweet and mocha wasn't too strong. The cake was overly saturated with milk which I would've like but it had the right amount of moistness so not to make it soggy. All in all definitely reccomend this little gem of a cafe. Owners and staff are all friendly and the food and drinknwere fantastic. Definitely coming back for more cake!“
