“I came across a reel on Instagram and today when we visited the Hall of Science I had to go to Southside Station. They have some of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was crispy, big and tasty, the slaw was perfectly tangy and and the sauce hit the spot. Perfectly balanced flavors in a big delicious sandwich. In addition, we tried the garlic noodles and the curly fries whichwere really good. Portions are good. I recommend this hidden gem. I'm definitely going back for the sandwich and will try the other items on the menu.“

“I’m a big fan of low key spaces that dial it in. Chef Chew as well known as he is, is highly underrated.What he does with tofu is humbly masterful. While other places will rely on fake meats,he transforms a slab of tofu into a layers and pockets of flavor that get turned into one of the best vegan fried chickuns in the area and a vegan philly protein that is natural gluten free bc it’s basically just tofu and spices.The collards melt in your mouth but somehow don’t taste overcooked. And I think he changed his cheese sauce slightly bc it tastes even better since his reopening. Offering a vegan fried chickun and steak that isn’t made of processed ingredients is a subtle triumph that I don’t feel gets enough recognition. Vegan soul food done right. Much respect.“

“Quick Slice At Zachary's in Albany, WOOHOO!!! It's the friendly wait staff, perfect quiet room on a Sunday morning and satisfying portions of salads which keep me coming for more. As a former Cal student, I would hit Zachary's to take in their infamous stuffed pies. They're still keeping the tradition after 40 years. If you haven't had one, you're in for a tasty, hearty meal.“

“Omg, what an amazing and super unique dining experience! If you haven't been to Port Costa in the East Bay and are game for a little off the traditional radar adventure, Bull Valley Roadhouse is such a fun alternative to anything but the ordinary. We chose to sit outdoors because the weather was so beautiful, highly recommend! There's a beautiful cocktail/mocktail/beer/wine menu, and they also do special Sunday drinks & brunch from 11a-3p. As for the dinner menu, our party chose to really go all out in honor of a few celebrations we had! We started with the deviled eggs, beef croquettes, fresh bread and honey butter, the Gentleman's relish toast, mac & cheese, and for the grand finale...we chose the largest beef shank I've ever seen served with broccolini and risotto. Everything was shared, and the shank was a $160 plate but split between our whole group, it was not only of epic proportions and extremely photo worthy, but was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and fun. Finishing with a chocolate caramel cookie, scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream, and topped with chocolate whipped cream (so yum!), I literally was in pure culinary heaven. From the XO chili sauce on the deviled eggs (I asked for an extra side of this sauce to use for the rest of the meal), the crispiness of the croquettes and tenderness of the meat inside, the perfect runny egg atop the Gentlemen's toast, the most deliciously sweet honey butter, to the fall off the bone shank, perfectly salted risotto, broccolini crunch, and of course the creamy Mac n cheese (let it sit for a few minutes to harden)...honestly everything was so divine! From the attentive & friendly service to historical funky ambiance, this is just a spot you have to experience for yourself..can't wait to come back to try brunch on a beautiful day! Def worth the extra splurge for a bit of the weekend spontaneous urge..“
“Marc and team catered our wedding at the Brazilian Room, and we were extremely happy with both the planning process and the food/support on the day itself. The Arlington team are clearly pros at working in the Brazilian room - and had everything set up quickly and efficiently day-of - even though we had a shorter evening slot. The food was very good (especially the grilled salmon and pesto pasta) - everyone went back for seconds and we got many compliments! Marc was transparent and easy to work with throughout, and we thought pricing was reasonable compared to other vendors we looked at. Would highly recommend!!“

“A couple of the bands I'm in played here (Sakful and Chino's burning).The Pa system is awesome.The engineer (Paul Shortridge) is very knowledgeable and has the house tone dialed in for any band expressing their style on stage.I was so impressed by the place I started going to the open mic nights on Mondays.And to top it off, the food is freaking awesome!This place is a must if you like good original music, great good and a super friendly atmosphere.“

“If you are in the mood for Mac and cheese, this is where it's at! First timer here, the hubby and I ordered the crab Mac, they went heavy on the crab which we loved! The crunchy crumbles on the top made it savory for each bite! Super friendly and welcoming soon as we entered in, it was kid friendly with a sheik spin to it. Good vibes.“

“I ate here 5-7 years ago for my birthday ! And guess what today's my birthday and I was thinking about this place ! I loveeeeee the cafe and I was very happy with the service and food . My sister and I will be visiting soon ! I don't remember what I ate , I'm sure it was some omelette ! It just feels like home here ! The photos , " what you see , is what you get " and I love that ! I love that the photos aren't photo shopped and you get there looking for a meal that's a 10 and get a -2 !!!! This is literally 8/10 !“

“This place really delivered on the lamb Gyro. I brought my wife here soo she could try the lamb Gyro and she was impressed. This place has to be my favorite place in the East Bay to get a Gyro. The prices have gone up since I first heard of them but still hasn’t everything. Still, it’s a heck of a bargain and your taste buds won’t be disappointed. my tummy is always happy after I eat my lamb Gyro. Thx“

“Lamb chops were wonderful. The gnocchi was like eating clouds - so light! They nicely divided the entree we were spiltting. They were extremely kind to the service dog my low vision friend travels with -they brought a bowl of water for the dog. I plan to bring a group here - they have a private room available.“
