I waited, and no one came out. Finally, I had to walk into the restaurant to pick up my order. The food was good and the employees were nice just need to work on the curb side to go.“

“This place probably bakes one of the best versions of practically all your favorite desserts: Mexican wedding cookies, old-school Italian butter cookie assortments that the now-defunct Virginia Bakery in Berkeley used to sell, classic eclairs, strawberry shortcake, tiramisu, Opera cake, Napoleons, croissants, the list is seemingly endless. Very cute space that also sells coffee, and sidewalk seating, too.“

“Came on a Saturday evening, and there was a long line down the block. They only serve 1 type of pizza and 1 type of salad, and you decide how much you want of each. For the pizza, you can order per slice, half pie, or whole pie. You order at the front and then choose a seat if you're dining in. Since there's only one choice for everything, it all comes out right away when you order and pay. If you want anything specialized - gluten-free, vegan, etc then they tell you to go to counter to order first, then get in line to pay. Would recommend getting the green sauce as well for an extra delicious kick. They also have outdoor dog friendly dining. Delicious pizza, highly recommend.“

“GC gets docked a star for two reasons: 1) limited access because the line is so long (reservations are only taken for parties of 6+) and 2) the kung pao chicken is disappointing. As an institution, GC has been the best Chinese food in the area for decades. It was once so small you could shoot an arrow from the front door to the back wall. Its corner spot now on Oxford & Bancroft is massive in comparison, so now more people can wait to get in. The space is modern and bright, but the food is thankfully not fusion or fanciful. The food is exactly what it says on the door: Great China. From the plump (but crisped-skin) potstickers to the mu shu pork to the spicy green beans to the Peking duck, it is deliciously predictable. When I order ma po tofu, I know I'm going to get silken cubes of tofu in a thickened shiny spicy red sauce with ground pork in perfect proportion. Service is as friendly as Chinese gets and effortlessly efficient and fast. Parking sucks; it's downtown Berkeley, people. But if my San Fran friends long to come here, you know it's worth the hassle.“

“Was looking for a birthday cake that wasn't too sweet and was recommended the chocolate raspberry cake. We let it come to room temperature before serving and it was absolutely delicious! Moist cake (very similar to a moist cupcake consistency), chocolatey and not too sweet (they use Swiss chocolate) coupled with bites of fresh raspberry buttercream-- Very happy we came upon this bakery and looking forward to visiting more often!“

“I've had the good fortune of bringing Acme treats to a few social gatherings this past week. Top notch service & baked goods each & every time. The two fellas at the front counter really hustle to keep that ever-present line moving briskly. But where is the tip jar for these magicians?!! Surely Acme could do this for their dedicated pros, and we customers are so accustomed to seeing one, it feels awkward to note its absence. [btw- the Acme pizza slab cut into bite sized pieces is a real crowd pleaser for happy hour occassions ] Word to the wise: everything available and barely a line between 8-830am. Now about that tip jar: hope to see it on my next visit!“

“This is the bakery to go to in downtown Benicia! They make everything fresh and it is apparent in the presentation and taste. I went with the Breakfast Sandwich with bacon and it was flaky buttery delicious. This is a nice place to relax with friends, a drink, and some food on a nice day.“

“My family stumbled upon this little cupcake shop in Berkeley while on a day trip. There is a good assortment of decadent cupcakes to be had. We tried two (cookies and cream and the red velvet )and they were magnificent! I highly recommend! The shop is small with no sit down options so you must take your treats to go.“

“I stopped here out of curiosity to after getting items from Arizmendi and Los Cantaros Taqueria. I got the Honey Cake slice, chocolate baklava, and pistachio almond cookies (gluten free). Hatice the owner is very friendly and answered any questions I had. The Honey Cake was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness, not too much. I ate up the cake and baklava but shared the cookies. My family members said the cookies were great. I'll try to arrive before 12noon another time to get their breakfast items, like the egg in the hole. This will be one of my new go to places for food.“

“My wife and I went to Pizza Twist, Hercules with a friend who is gluten intolerant. We were delighted to have ordered two Gluten Free Pizzas (Cauliflower crust). One was Veggie Tandoori Paneer Pizza Twist and the other one was Chicken Tikka Masala. These were the most delicious pizzas we had in a long time. The new owners were very friendly. Superb service - Pizzas was made quickly.Will come back again.“

“The food here was excellent. We got a vegetable momo with tofu and a tofu with mushroom & spinach to share.The momo was yummy, I was a big fan of the mint sauce. My girlfriend usually eats meat but she catered to me since they’d run out of meat momo for the night.The tofu with spinach and mushroom (No. 41 I believe) was so flavorful. “I went in today after 10yrs. I brought my best friend who just moved to the area. He missed his local Mexican restaurant (he raves about that place!) So we go in and the ambiance was so beautiful! The are on the wall and the tables. Also the counter where you order. I ordered a quesadilla (same thing I used to always get) and it was even better than I remembered. My friend "approved" of the burrito. LoL I was like yea you finished that super fast buddy... but the best part we're the people working there. They made sure we were all set, good conversation and the just a great vibe. This is still a gem in Vallejo.“

“The shop is very quaint and has a wide variety of baked goods + farmer's market quality condiments. This is a Berkeley staple! The apple cider was very tasty and warm. It seemed like they poured it from a premade container that was sourced from a local farm and then warmed it up. Both baked goods were fantastic and baked fresh that morning. The Rosemary puff is lovingly described by my friend as a "savory donut" - and for good reason! It has a sourdough base that is both fragrant and flavorful, but not overpowering. It has the perfect amount of sea salt seasoning and rosemary flavor, and just enough oil to make it soft and slightly juicy in the best way possible. It tastes great on its own or with one of the sauces sold at the collective! The pear ginger muffin was also very yummy and fresh with a distinctly citrusy flavor. It was fluffy and not too sweet. 10/10 experience!“

“Marc and team catered our wedding at the Brazilian Room, and we were extremely happy with both the planning process and the food/support on the day itself. The Arlington team are clearly pros at working in the Brazilian room - and had everything set up quickly and efficiently day-of - even though we had a shorter evening slot. The food was very good (especially the grilled salmon and pesto pasta) - everyone went back for seconds and we got many compliments! Marc was transparent and easy to work with throughout, and we thought pricing was reasonable compared to other vendors we looked at. Would highly recommend!!“

“For convenient ready made sushi, this place blew my mind. Didn't know what to expect going in and was met with melt-in-your mouth soft af salmon in their salmon roll. The rolls are a good size too. “Tried this spot for lunch on a Sunday with 2 friends and we all loved our experience! The restaurant looks very low key so we weren't sure what to expect, but WOW the food and service were fantastic. I tried the Rainbow roll combination which also comes with 3 pieces of sashimi and miso soup. The presentation was great and the fish tasted so fresh and delicious. The waitress immediately greeted us and checked in regularly. I didn't get the lunch special this time, but we noticed this is available even on weekends (which seems to be rare for most restaurants). I'll definitely be back and I recommend this spot for fresh, affordable sushi!“

“I was linked to this place because of my many food intolerance. However, I couldnt understand why my stomach hurt after eating their delicious fried rice. I later found out that they cook everything in corn oil and I have to stay away from that. Aside from that, they have gluten free options and the food is very good.“

It almost goes without mentioning, but Passione Caffè is absolutely true to its slogan: “A corner of Italy in Berkeley.” From the food and drink to the atmosphere and the service, this is the only truly Italian café I have found in Berkeley! And that comes from over a year of experience living and traveling in Italy! Besides the beautiful architecture and interior design of Passione Caffè—not to mention its convenient location next to Downtown Berkeley BART—I would like to point out some highlights on the menu. The pastas are all made with homemade, organic noodles and made-to-order sauces. The pasta dishes are so fresh and authentic! The spaghetti with meatballs, their only Americanized dish, is to die for! The pizzas also are also made with home-made dough and gluten-free options are offered. Try one with fresh prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula! The fresh panini with Italian meats and cheeses round out the lunch menu. It is possible to have a filling lunch for $7-15, which is definitely reasonably priced by Berkeley standards! A serious final highlight was the artisanal gelato, made in-house by the Italian co-owner, Eleanora Cercatore. There are 12 flavors, weekly made with gluten-free options, that are displayed on a beautiful rotating wheel. The gelato is spectacularly tasty—I cannot recommend it highly enough! For your time, money, and fine Italian bites and drinks, I cannot recommend a Berkeley café more highly than Passione Caffè! Please pay them a visit soon—you won’t be disappointed!“

“Red Tomato Pizza is the BEST! Not only is their food amazing with quality and variety, but their service is top tier. You would be crazy not to order from them. We order for catering and they always deliver their customer service. Eden is so friendly, reliable, and just an overall amazing.
