Really cool coffee shop and roaster. The drinks (Spanish latte and Chai latte) were great. I bought a bag of coffee and was roasted yesterday and it was great (Winchester). Will be back if I am in Placentia.

This place is awesome! Excellent coffee and a fantastic atmosphere. My wife got a latte with pistachio milk, a double shot of espresso, and a touch of honey. I got a Spanish Latte and both were excellent. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable about their . Very relaxed the vibe in here… We go on coffee dates almost every weekend and go to a new place every time somewhere in So Cal. This is our favourite so far… People can come here and set up shop and pretty much use it as their office… Very large place but does not lack any of the quaint feel… highly recommend checking this place out.

Hidden gem in Placentia, a stone’s throw from CSUF. Nicely staged with a very relaxing atmosphere, perfect lighting, and lots of room. A must visit if you are in the area!! Keep it up GoldenStateCoffeeRoaster, will be sure to come back.

Great place! The barista was very helpful guiding me towards the drink I wanted. I love the interior architecture of the place. Apparently it used to be a train station. Tons of seating.

In the past month I've visited GSR on two occasions in an attempt to buy whole beans. On the first visit, I arrived around 10:30/11am, and there was 1 person in line in front of me. When I inquired about decaf beans, I was told they had them roasted and ready in the back, but that they would need at least 20 minutes to be able to provide them. They claimed it was because they were busy, however at this point there was no one in line and they had one drink they were working at the bar. So i left.On my second visit, I arrived at 9am on a Saturday, they had 4 bags of beans on their display, but not the espresso blend that they carry on their site. I asked if they had their espresso blend (1850) which they carry, and he nonchalantly looked at the 4 bags on the shelf and muttered, "well they can all be used for espresso". That is not what i was asking. I could tell I was already taking too much of his important time, so I made it quick. "so this is all the beans you have available right now?", he said "yes only that on the shelf". Again nobody in line, and there were 3 baristas behind the counter. He did not want to discuss options, recommendations or anything else. Just wanted to go back to steaming milk. What I am believing is that GSR does not want to sell beans as much as it wants to sell basic bagels and lattes. I get it, i'm sure profit levels are much higher on basic food you mark up.Won't be visiting again, as I don't support their business culture. They clearly don't value their bean sales. They did not interact between baristas or with customers in any way that would make me want to consider this a place to spend money or my time

Really good coffee, but as with most places, get there early if you prefer dark roasts. The Winchester and Capistrano are nice dark roasts. The Cranberry Rosemary muffins are really tasty. Nice place with a good atmosphere. Only one detail....**Please pay better attention to your restrooms. They're clean most of the time, but need checked for soap and paper products more diligently. Empty those trash cans, keep the soap dispenser full, and keep the paper stuff installed, and you'll get a fifth star. Thanks!

I think I have a new top-3 favorite coffee shop. Drinks:Charlie Brown Latte & Honey Oat LatteBoth drinks were very good, not overly piping hot, and had the exact flavors profiled that were listed in the ingredients. Don't overlook the Charlie Brown because of the rosemary in it, the flavor of the rosemary actually adds to the overall flavor profile making it a unique tasting latte that will be hard to match. The Honey Oat Latte was super solid as well, the flavors of honey, oat, and the coffee were all present.Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and I am happy to see Old Placentina getting revitalized and having cool spots like Golden State there.

Delicious coffee in a little old town area. The coffee shop is huge with lots of sitting area, plenty of people working on their laptops.Coffee is so good. Smooth, flavorful and well balanced. Kombucha is bright and also full of flavor. I enjoyed the everything seasoning cream cheese jalapeno croissant and wish I could have more haha. Definitely worth visiting!

The service is good and the coffee was okay. I basically had a cafe con leche - they use another name in their menu and I forgot it.This place is huge! Lots of tables and open space. However every available table either had coffee spills or food crumbs on them. I had to go to the counter and ask if I could use a cleaning cloth/wipe. The worst thing is they were not even busy. My experience was definitely not the best, wanted to give them a try and I did. Due to sanitary reasons and sub par coffee, I don't think I will return.
