My husband and I shared a wonderful afternoon here, with nothing but appetizers and a pitcher of Asahi. Garlic Edamame, Mixed Tempura, Seaweed Salad, Brussels Sprouts, Calamari Legs, Red Yellow Tail and Spicy Tuna Roll. Not only was the food amazing, service was also excellent. This is NOW my all time favorite Japanese Restaurant.

they have just the basics, at high prices. you can get a wide selection of fresh options at ½ this price, at e.g. kaisen kaiten (santa ana)

Food here sucks guys. 4.5 stars? Must be struggling students from CSU Fullerton. If you got money tho, goto a better place. Friendly service but bad food. Goto Orange Sushi is Orange or Honda Ya in Tustin or Sushi Sake off Rose in Placentia. Warning the last place is super expensive.

We were looking for a sushi restaurant that was actually open for lunch on a Sunday (not many are) and found San. It was a nice spot for a relatively inexpensive but nice quality “American” sushi meal. Most of the rolls were california style, placing heavy emphasis on imitation crab. But 5 of us eating for $130 at a sushi restaurant is great! At a place like Roku or Nobu it easily would have been $400-500 for all of us.There was a focus on rolls, ramen, and appetizers instead of nigiri, but it didn’t turn out to be a bad thing. The spicy tuna crispy rice was the standout of the meal and the garlic edamame was nice and fresh. The rest of our rolls were all good but the tonkatsu ramen was lackluster. Stick to the sushi here, go to a ramen place if you want a good bowl of ramen.

Just dropped in about an hour before it closed. It was a cozy spot tucked away. The presentation of all of the food was so beautiful. It kind of made me feel i was taking bites of art. Everything was so tasty. The edamame didn't have as much flavor on it's own. It has a nice relaxing vibe to this place. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again i would come back.

San Sushi has become our cherished local go-to place for sushi in Placentia, CA. As a family, we can't help but appreciate the atmosphere, great sushi offerings, and the fact that it's wonderfully kid-friendly.For our family, San Sushi is more than just a local sushi place. It's a place where we make memories over shared meals and dinners.

Food is great just wish they would get my order right. There was just one waiter so I don't know if this was the reason. There was 2 other tables besides ours. Not letting this bad experience stop us from going since we really love their food.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu. Portion sizes are great.Wheelchair accessibility: Do not have a wheelchair but my dad uses one. I feel if he were to go he would have access into the restaurant, it's a ramp to go in. The tables look like a wheelchair can pull up to it and they would be able to eat comfortably.

PARKING:This is in Downtown Placentia. Parking is not great here, but I came during a weekday and an off hour, so I found parking right in front of the restaurant. FOOD:***PORTIONS ARE SMALL***Keep in mind I only ordered appetizers. $9 MIXED TEMPURA: It was OK. Not terrible, but not good enough for me to come back. Some pieces were crunchy, but most were not fried enough and limp. Something that tempura should not be. $9 CALAMARI LEGS: fried squid, these were fried to crunchy perfection and served with a spicy Mayo aioli. $13 ALBACORE CARPACCIO: I've never seen albacore sliced so thinly in my life at any restaurant. It was my favorite dish that we ordered, but I'm still shocked about how small all the portions were.SERVICE:Was quick & attentive. Not many people in the restaurant when I came, but the staff was wonderful & did their job perfectly. OVERALL:I didn't think it was BAD, but I also think it's at the bottom of my list for Japanese/Sushi restaurants in this area. I came here for this first time because I was passing by it and was short on time. The portions are wayyyy too small. I personally will not be back. They did nothing wrong, I just didn't enjoy it. I also ordered hot tea and even that was not hot. More like a luke warm and was cold before I could finish it.I am not trying to bash this restaurant in any way, this is just my personal opinion on my first experience here.

Overpriced, small portions, fish wasn't fresh. Ate the first 2 pieces of sushi and discarded the rest.

Service was excellent, shoutout to the waitresses! The sushi availability and taste however was sub-par. I don't think ever I've had sushi so bland before. The only thing saving the rolls was the soy sauce/wasabi mix that I made. Where are the flavors from the sauces, and the fresh veggies? The crabmeat was the only thing I could taste. The sushi selection doesn't have a diverse selection incorporating different flavors. Where are cajun flavors? The ponzu sauces and cilantro? The restaurant feels like your in a big open space with golf playing on mute in background...sorry thats boring...music selection was aweful didn't fit the scene. Where are the sushi chefs hustling at the sushi bar? Im sorry but this is not a sushi restaurant in my opinion this is just a restaurant that just happens to serve sushi as side dish.
