Everything from beginning to end of the meal was perfect. It was our first visit and we pretty much enjoyed a little bit of this and that off the menu and each selection was absolutely delicious! I had the eggplant Parm and my husband had the same with meatballs. The owner stopped by introduced herself and checked on us throughout our meal. We will definitely return. Reservations are highly suggested.

I was fortunate enough to attend a dinner party hosted at Amore. It was my first ever visit to this Italian restaurant right on Main Street in downtown Placerville. It’s hidden in the back of the Creekside Plaza, access is from the Main Street gate. The restaurant interior is smallish, with the tables seated really close to each other giving it a quaint cozy vibe. My dinner party sat in the back room. That too was a cozy situation. It’ll get loud in the dining room especially with a full house. The owner is from Rome. Everything on the menu is from her recipes. We got to meet her and she provided us the option to have family style entrees. Which we took her up on the offer. To start the meal, we received complimentary cubes of cheese and jam, and sliced warm bread with butter. Being lactose intolerant, I passed on the cheese. The bread was delicious. It was a rustic artisan bread served sliced and warm to the table with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Yum!The dinner party host ordered family style entrees of la semplice (mixed green salad), deep fried artichoke hearts with mascarpone and goat cheese, bruschetta. gnocchi in red sauce, lasagna, and creamy lemon chicken. The salad was fresh and gorgeous. The deep fried artichoke was breaded with a crisp golden exterior and creamy decadent cheesy ooziness. Lactose intolerant me, geared up for the dinner by taking a lactase enzyme. So I did take a bite of the fried artichoke. Mmm. Bruschetta was divine, the bread was perfectly toasted and the balsamic vinegar was top notch packing a lot of flavor. The gnochhi came to the table as del norcino in a cream sauce with gorgonzola, mushroom, and bits fired crumbled sausage instead of red sauce. I took a few bites of this dish as well, the gnocchi was probably one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Perfect texture. The sauce was heavenly. The lasagna that was served in the smaller casserole serving dishes was baked to a perfect doneness with a broiled top crust. I sampled a bit of this as well. Yum! The one served in a deep dish casserole pan was under cooked and didn’t set quite yet. But it had all the right flavors. They normally cook the lasagna in the smaller pans. The chicken in the lemon chicken was a paillard style, pounded super thin. It was served in a thickish white sauce that had a nice flavor, not sure if it had any dairy in it though.Parking: The parking is free street parking. And there is an open air lot next to City Hall and a parking structure on the opposite end of Main Street. The lot and structure is free on Sunday, and free for up to 2 hours with enforcement ending at 6pm. $2 per hour after the first two free hours.

Always enjoy this place! Chicken has been a little over done and dry the last couple of times there on the lemon chicken, but the flavor was there!

It was okay but there were a lot of technical details that weren’t executed properly. For that price point, I expect all of the technical stuff to be buttoned up. For instance the bruschetta topping was cold—indicating it had been sitting in a refrigerator, instead of freshly prepared. On top of hot toast, it made the texture and flavor bland (tomatoes should never be refrigerated). The lasagna didn’t have enough salt. Limoncello cake was cold and had flaky hard crust on top (could’ve been avoided if fresh or made same day). It’s cool for Placerville but I’ll probably just drive into Sac next time for proper Italian.

As a dual citizen of Italy and America it is so hard to find food places that feel like home and aren’t “Italian American” where it’s nothing but pizza and spaghetti. This food was AMAZING! I can’t wait for my momma to come visit so I can take her here! 10/10 will recommend to anyone! The portions are perfect, I left feeling so full and had to get my cannoli to go.

The closest you will ever get to "authentic" Italian cuisine!! Love this restaurant! It is unlike any other Italian restaurant you will find in this area. The owners are from Rome and everything they do is true to their heritage. They are amazing hosts as well!

Such a cute, sweet, hidden gem of an authentic Italian restaurant amidst downtown Placerville! The owner was the sweetest lady, sharing all her recommendations and so hard working and down to earth. The food was absolutely amazing and so was the wine! We will definitely be returning whenever we're in the area.

My husband and I rarely go out, because we are both decent cooks. We decided to try Amore Mio for our anniversary today, as we have been so busy and just didn't have time to shop and cook anything special. We definitely found special at Amore Mio. The food was excellent. The fried Calamari and zucchini were so delicately coated and the spicy tomato sauce was perfectly paired. My husband had the Cioppino and I had the "grand mother chicken breast," which is similar to chicken parmigiana. I also ordered a side of pasta in a white cream sauce. Everything was incredibly delicious. My husband was able to eat all his Cioppino, but as much as I tried, I was only able to eat about half of my dish. I can't wait to eat my leftovers! We look forward to returning soon. Thank you Simone and Marcos for a lovely evening.

$16.00 for minestrone ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND. I mean it was good and all that but I didn't see any Michlen stars on the door Service was ok and the place has a snooty feel about it I'd rather go to Paisano's in Cameron Park Your gold country gourmet

Little rather dingy hole in the wall with overpriced food, attitude waitress and higher prices. Our of three meals, o e was out of this world (pistachio shrimp pasta), one was ok (pasta del mer) and one was so bland it almost seemed the chef did it in purpose (some rigatoni with ricotta cheese and basically nothing else). The bread is perfection. For some reason the server did not like one of our party and gave her attitude (it was really weird). The pistachio dish is worth the price. The other one was definitely something we should have sent back and risked upsetting the cook. The back room is loud and had to have a conversation. Prob better on the patio. Cool lil hole in the wall.
