While I do wish this place had more vegan options, I found the ambience, colors and energy to be immaculate. The staff that helped my friend and I were kind and it was one of the best lattes I ever had. I don't live in this area but I'm eager to visit my friend again and go back. Also, if you like dogs, so many people were out walking their pups on the weekend. Definitely check it out if you're curious!
Your experience with this place will vary WIDELY on what your meal goals are, lol. If you want a cute little palm-springs-y vibe for drinks before going to somewhere else for dinner, then you'll be pleased. There's a counter-service place out front, but the back lounge is the well-designed bar and IMO good for small groups. If you go for happy hour, do not expect much from the food - focus on drinks. Advertised as a not so secret speakeasy, Joliet offers accessibility and cool vibes. They have a nice cocktail menu and have fast, friendly service. We visited on a Saturday evening and the space was just about full. The demographic appears to be a mix of Playa Vista residents and LMU students.
