The food was good. I was a little confused with the service. Granted, I hadn't eaten, it was 2pm, and I was irritable. Another customer handed me the menu. It wasn't the server. After waiting many minutes for drinks, our appetizer came out before the waters. There were only two tables outside including mine being served. I was a server a few years ago. If two tables sit down at the same time, it's better to treat it as one table. So, you take drink orders all at once. You bring drinks all at once on the same tray (the are using water bottles for Covid safety measures so if you drop a water it's not a big deal). You take food orders at the same time. But two tables should be easy. I wonder if I came at a bad time? Like were they preparing for dinner? Or maybe the server wasn't the normal server. Like, when I sat down, there was a worried look on my servers face. Idk. I haven't made up my mind if I'll be back. If there was some communication of what was going on, I might be more forgiving. My son loved his kids meal. The server was polite. So, I might try again.

It's been a long week, working long hours, and I needed to get the family fed on Thursday night so I did an Uber Eats order. I found the price to be on the higher side, but they offered delivery and Sozo does not.. I would order from here again, but only the things I liked. I probably won't try anything new next time. There were some great items and some terrible items. The spicy scallop hand roll was terrible, smelled fishy and didn't taste good. Sadly, It was tossed out (not something I ever do, I don't waste food but I just didn't like it and no one else was willing to touch it after I complained). The stars of the night were, The Crunch Mango roll, and both the yellowtail and yellowtail jalapeño. I really enjoyed both of these. Orange blossom was okay, omega 3 ok, I'd order both again. Garlic edamame also okay, but not for me. Felt like it was cooked with Costco jarred garlic, which I'm not a fan of. I'll skip that next time, but the kids ate it without complaint. I won't order the salmon belly again (fishy smelling), as was the sushi omakasa. Salmon nigiri is the kids favorite and it looked dried out, thin, and was not tasty. They don't usually complain about quality and they did with the nigiri. So I was disappointed in that. Overall the price was high for my order and given the things we didn't like, I felt it was wasted money. While I'm okay with high prices if the quality is there, I felt a few fails in the options we chose, but I am happy to order from here again. I found a few items I really enjoyed and will happily order them for delivery in the future. This place is worth a try. Next time I may call to ask for recommendations from the restaurant. I usually do that when I dine in, why not do it now.

Jerry is friendly and helpful. We definitely want to come back. Food was good and I like the way they do their miso soup. Prices maybe just a tad higher than other spots in town. Their landlord is not giving them a break on rent due to COVID. Which is not cool. I hope they can make it, it's our new fave.

Follows COVID precautions -- masks, online ordering, social distancing...I love it! Sadly it's only open for takeout and 1 table of outdoor dining! They only take Cash, Venmo or PayPal at the moment. I saw that they take credit card, but there's some type of charge. I just opted to pay with cash. But they were super friendly and great customer service. We got three different rolls and an appetizer, but I can't remember the last roll's name so.... 1. Chicken Karaage : good sized portions. I was expecting the classic nugget style karaage, but this was more of a tender. But still juicy and crunchy exterior. 4/5 2. Golden California Roll : this was good too. Crunchy tempura, not soggy or soft and the inner ingredients were fresh. 3/5 3. Ocean Roll (?) : I think that this was best roll. The fish in the roll was fresh and it came out like if we had ordered it from the sushi bar. 4/5 They also gave us miso soup since we ate there. Disclaimer: we only ordered one! Hopefully this place makes it through the pandemic, so I can see what the rest of the menu is like! It's got some different creative rolls that we'd like to try.

I ordered rolls, i saw one guy he felt down on e shrimp on the ground and he make the roll with same shrimp packed the same food in the plastic bag , think it guys I don’t have any words to say they are not even using gloves to prepare the food , finally what I am saying is if you gusys want to spoil your health, then visit this store.

Very disappointed! Quality has gone down since Covid! They charge dinner prices for lunch bento. Employee said you get dinner size but this seems even smaller than normal lunch bento size. Also charge cash only. Fish is overcooked and dry. Sad!

In A Nutshell:-Nishiki Sushi was a "pleasant" surprise.-After shopping at the Livermore Outlet, we decided that some sushi was in order.-Located in a small strip mall tucked away in the tech sector of town, we found this place.-We were hungry so we ordered a bunch of things (see the photos).-Everything was top-notch in both taste & presentation.-The prices weren't too bad either especially when you're used to paying a lot in the Bay Area.Overall, I highly recommend checking Nishiki Sushi out if you are in town, it stands above it's competition.
