“This restaurant is absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere is warm and friendly which is evident from all interactions with every staff member. The food and service are excellent in every sense of the word. The bread and baklava were made fresh! The Turkish Delights were phenomenal. The owner and staff went to great lengths to make us feel comfortable and welcome, explaining the menu items in detail. We are so excited to have come across this gem!!! It is the type of culinary and cultural experience that my husband and I treasure. We will be coming again soon, both with and without friends! The lineup for the VIP meet and greet was chaos. Nobody from the venue was letting any of us know where to lineup so people were lined up on both sides of the doors and eventually crowded around a single person in front of the doors to get signed in. It was so confusing.”

“Place is in a little sketchy area and the inside leaves a little to be desired, but the bartenders are friendly, drinks were well made and prices were reasonable. They have promotions and they have a karyoke wendsday which is fun. Low food rating is because they have snacks (nachos and hot dogs , also reasonably priced) and a vending machine (expensive) not a fan of the smoking indoors but it doesn't bother me much tbh. By the end of the night I was singing and having a great time. It is what it is a community watering hole just to meet up hang out and drink.”

“Absolutely amazing experience at Gorgansons! The vegan food was an absolute bomb packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. The vegan fish tacos were delicious, crispy, and loaded with fresh toppings. The vegan burger was equally impressive and full of flavor.

A special shoutout to Mark, the owner, for being so welcoming and creating such incredible vegan options. It’s not always easy to find vegan food that’s this satisfying, but Gorgansons definitely delivers. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious vegan eats. We’ll definitely be back!

Chicken is always juicy; the rice is always flavorful; the salad has the perfect acidity level and balance of components; hummus is clearly house-made; the toum is rich and potent.

The food is great, and the entire place is usually run by one fella, so have some patience- it's not McDonalds, it won't be ready in 30 seconds.

Slow down and enjoy yourself- well worth the wait. Don't bother with food delivery, just drive down there like a normal human being.

My only gripe? The pita could be warmer. That's it- that's my only complaint.”

Went home and paired those leftoves with some pancakes and syrup. The gift that keeps on giving. The fried chicken wings with, i believe it was thai sauce, were delicious as well. I've now forgotten the wheat ale I ordered, but it was local and it was good. The brisket sandwich I ordered was outstanding. We must have hit the bartender at a bad moment because when we arrived he didn't seem too keen on our arrival. When I asked what beer was new or something he could recommend, he kind of blew me off. Thought it kind of odd. But, he did come around and grew pretty chill as our lunch progressed. Chalk it up to a bad moment that I don't think had anything to do with us. All in all, I like the Rookery; hanging out on the back patio with a microbrew and a sandwich was exactly what I was looking for.”

When the food is made fresh it’s as good as any other Mexican food in Pomona.

My only grievance is what feels like a lack of appreciation for customers who spend their money with them daily.

I had one of their rewards cards where you get a sticker for every visit with a purchase over $5.99. I was 2 stickers away from the free combo and somehow lost the card. I came the next day and asked for a new one and if they could at least credit me for the first row. Got told “that’s too bad, sorry”.

Maybe I’m being entitled but that kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

Burrito I got today was fire. they charge $1 for fries instead of regular boiled potatoes inside of a Cali burrito the way it’s supposed to be made but I pay it every time lol.”

“OK, YUM!! I’ve been on a huge hojicha kick lately since the caffeine is usually gentler than matcha. I’ve had bad luck in the past with shops giving me massive servings (37g!) that kept me up all night, so I’m always a bit cautious.

I finally decided to try Smoking Tiger after seeing them all over socal, and I’m so glad I did! I told the staff I’m super caffeine sensitive, and they were incredibly accommodating, offering to make alterations just for me. Love that attention to detail! I'll be a regular from now on!

“UPGRADED TO FOUR STARS ON 3/20/26
This time I went for Friday Lenten fish lunch and ordered cod. I took my time to savor the coating and the fish. Coating was definitely southern in style (not English batter) and had good flavor with a hint of spiciness to it. Not salty like before either or cornbread heavy. Very balanced. Fish was a bit thin but the portion was generous in the number of pieces (5). The hush puppies had a bit of bite to them from perhaps a green pepper. French fries were good. Tarter sauce good but would have liked more for the large portion of fish. Will definitely come back and I now recommend! Only reason for a four star rating was that I had to wait an hour for my order (I left and came back) and the portion of tarter sauce was too small.

First time here and will likely be my last. Ordered the lunch special with fried cod, which was reasonably priced $9.75, including a drink. Meal included fried cod, hush, puppies, fried shrimp, french fries, a very small amount of tartar sauce, hot sauce and ketchup. Batter on the cod and shrimp was cornmeal, and had a bit too much black pepper in it. Cod was tasteless and overwhelmed by the batter. Shrimp had a bit more flavor but were very small. Hush puppies were tasty but not the reason why I came here. Overall, a charming location with a lot of history, but whose time has likely passed.”

Highly recommend the combination platter with Chile rellenos, taco dorado with nopales, and a bean and cheese enchilada. Rice was cooked perfectly. I'd go back!”

It's a small little kiosk outside, but if you get a chance go there you won't be disappointed. They are $4 a piece.”

“We went here after our usual spot for tamales was closed. I want to say this place is an absolute gem for tamales hidden here in OC. They are very flavorful and they don't skimp on ingredients! We ordered pork and chicken tamales. The masa is perfect, not too dry, not too mushy. It's a perfect ratio of masa and meat. The flavors are amazing and create a happiness of flavors with the spices and chicken and the pork. Both meats were tender, juicy and flavorful, not dry and bland and chewy. They are a bit spicy, but not overpowering or sickening. As a friend's nephew once explained spiciness to me, they don't poke your tounge too much, just a little. I highly suggest an ice cold Coke to go with these tamales. That is a heavenly combo. I really think you should give this place a try for tamales. I will definitely return for more. I didn't try their breads yet, but I definitely will try them another time around.”

“I was very impressed with my first trip to Golden Corral in Pomona California. I’m a gig driver and I found myself in San Dimas around 2 PM. By the time I finished driving in that area it was close to 3 and I was tired of fast food so I did a Google search for all you can eat restaurants in the area and Golden Corral popped up first.

Overall the food was good. I think they need to stay away from creating Chinese dishes because they’re just a total fail. Their chow mein basically tasted like sugar noodles. But their clam chowder was absolutely delicious (except for the soggy celery in it) as was their salad bar (they also have a fruit bar but I got too full to even sample one piece, maybe next time). The french fry planks and potato wedges were totally to die for! I’m a huge potato fan. I seriously thought I had room for more but I got so full that I had to unbutton my pants when I got back in the car! 🫣🤣

When I got there they were running their senior pricing and since I am a senior my dinner, including tax, was pennies over $16. I don’t think you could beat that! If I had stopped at Del Taco and just gotten two large fries it would’ve been half that price.

The only sad part is that I live in the San Fernando Valley and the nearest one is over 21 miles away from me. 😔 Come on Golden Corral, build a location in the San Fernando Valley because you would make a killing!!

PS: sadly I didn’t get her name but my server was very personable and attentive. I tipped her before I even finished my meal because I could see how much work she was doing in the entire restaurant. She was a very sweet young Hispanic woman that wore her hair pulled back in a soft bun. If you’re lucky enough to have her when you go there, I know you’ll see how hard a worker she is and please remember to tip her. ❤”
