“Title: Hidden Gem in Oak Park - A Must-Visit Speakeasy!I have frequented Butterscotch Den multiple times and every visit has been an absolute delight. From the moment you walk in, the staff exudes warmth and professionalism, from the welcoming hostess to the talented mixologists crafting delicious drinks. Speaking of drinks, I have never had a bad one here - each sip is a flavorful experience. The ambience of the venue is top-notch, and the clientele always seems to add to the overall charm. It truly feels like a hidden gem in the Oak Park community - a little piece of sweetness waiting to be discovered. This place is a public speakeasy that I recommend to everyone looking for a great spot to enjoy an adult beverage. While I haven't tried the food service myself, I've seen others cooking their steaks at the cook table, and it looks like a fun and unique experience. The camaraderie among the guests at the cooking stations adds to the lively atmosphere of the place.During my last visit, the venue was celebrating birthdays and even had a bubble gun for guests to enjoy during their festivities. It's clear that the staff at Butterscotch Den goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience for their patrons.A special shoutout to the Butterscotch Den staff - you are all truly amazing! If you haven't had the chance to experience this place yet, I highly recommend you do. Don't miss out on this wonderful spot in Oak Park!I hope this review helps capture your positive experiences at Butterscotch Den!“
“Total gem! Amazing drinks, impeccable service, cool atmosphere and music. Came for an espresso martini (Mexican chocolate is a killer touch!) and was blown away by the creativity and balance of the craft cocktails. 10/10 would recommend. Staff was great. Bar manager was next level. Can't wait to come back!“

“I was in Sacramento for a conference and stopped her upon my arrival. The ambiance is fantastic, bright, colorful. And the food and drinks were 1000! I highly recommend if you’re looking for good food, whether you’re vegan or not. I got the Loaded Fries, Fajita salad and a drink I can’t remember the name of. Highly recommend.“

“Amazing experience! We shared small bites and had cocktails. Drinks were delicious and original. Best vegetables I've had since I went to French Laundry years ago. Perfect asparagus. Insanely good tots. Fresh pea salad I could eat every day. Chicken drumsticks, so different and delicious. Really inventive and fresh dishes. We did get this strawberry fudge dessert dish that was strange, but all was forgiven because dinner was just that good!“

“Came here on a weeknight. Huge selection of drinks. Few non alcoholic drinks available. Limited menu. They have trivia games on Thursday night which can get loud. Note that they run tabs per table and won’t do individual checks. So, have a plan on who’s going to pay the table tab and how to reimburse that person.“

“Second time at Ella. Ordered the beets salad that was oh so delicious and the crispy fried chicken also good. Two issues 1. slow service: wanted to eat the protein with the salad which the server was informed of. However, there was a 15 minute if not more time difference between receiving the salad and the chicken. I could not wait on the chicken so started eating the salad which meant by the time the chicken arrived all I had left to eat was the chicken which was not cool. The goal was to have my veggies and protein together. 2. Ordered asparagus to accompany the chicken and it never arrived. Note, the server apologized profusely and even sent the manager over who also repeatedly apologized stating she sent the asparagus over to our table but inadvertently given to another table. To make up for the asparagus the manager offered dessert on the house which we accepted. My colleague chose the strawberry cake which was yummy and I had the plate with 2 macaroons , 2 pieces of chocolate and 2 pieces of a sugary....(can't recall name) but it was good. Would I recommend Ella - absolutely with the caveat that sometimes you may encounter slower service when the restaurant is packed. This was on a Thursday evening around 6:30 p.m.“

“Excellent place to watch a game. Bonus: sound is on for the Kings games! Extensive beer menu, full bar, pizza is delicious, and, for the gluten-free fans, the best gluten-free crust around. Friendly servers who give a damn. Highly recommend this locally owned small business.“

“This place is simply greatttttttt.Still has that historic vibe, with an updated feel. Not divey, and not over done.Just right for Old Sac!Come for the margaritas, or the root beer floats (they have adult versions too, but you’d never be able to tell they’re like 6% ABV!)… soo good.Wings, cauliflower tacos, elote spring rolls, all were super solid bites! Menu isn’t super big, but they seem to do it all right. Veggie friendly too, which is always a plus!Even just the curly fries, piping hot with a grip of dipping sauces to choose from.I’ll def be bag for the grub, and arcade too.Skee-ball’s my favvvvv, and the pinball machines are clutch. Just a good vibe all around, def worth checking out!“

“Everything was fantastic. For a party of 6 on a Saturday night right at dinner time, we barely had a wait. Service was quick and attentive, but not lurking or over your shoulder. Food was clearly fresh, well made and very flavorful. The night was a pleasure.Parking: There's plenty of parking, but it will fill up during peak days and times. If you're handicapped, plan ahead...as those spots may fill up fast.“

“Hit up Saigon Alley and wow, was I impressed! We dove into some crispy tofu salad, packed with fresh lettuce and a zing from those jalapeños. And those taro fries? Just addictive with their unique, earthy twist – couldn't get enough of that herby dip! The garlic noodles were another win, simple yet bursting with flavor, and very satisfying. The vibe here was chill and the staff was also great. They've got the kind of vibe that makes you want to stick around. If you're after some Vietnamese vibes with a modern spin, Saigon Alley is your go-to. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you“

“Mattone's is a gem. The lasagne is spectacular! Being vegan, they made me their house-made spaghetti with a wonderful tomato sauce. The wine selections were also great. We've had several of their pastas now and each one was exceptional. Staff is also always very knowledgeable and helpful. Just a lovely place for dinner.“

“This lovely restaurant is tucked away in the old Land Park neighborhood. I was here for lunch and found some reasonably priced meals on their menu. I ordered the "Soup and a Hat" which included a creamy tomato basil soup and a grilled cheese sandwich with grilled sweet onions - it was so delicious! My waitress was very attentive and accommodating. Parking is free on the premises but the lot is small so I had to find parking on the street (not metered parking).“

“Went here with a small work group for Christmas drinks. It's pretty intimate (small) area, but not overly so. Might be a decent date place, although it can be a little loud with the music and everyone talking, which is to be expected at most nighttime establishments. They have a good selection of specialty cocktails, and have some very top shelf sprirts available ($400+) for the adventurous. Great service too!“
“Had a great time everyone was dancing and totally enjoying the great trumpets and saxophones , drums , the young vocalist was amazing. I got to help hold a beautiful saxophone for one of the performers!!! (Woo woo! ) I felt special. He just so happened to be on the bar ! Yes on The BAR! It was crazy and exciting! I will definitely be back here again. Maybe I'll get to hold someone's trumpet next time lol .....thank you,, Torch Club Sincerely, Terra PS. AND THE BARTENDER SHE WAS GREAT TOO!!¡“

“I cannot say enough about the excellent and personal service we received at Pazza Notte last night. We were part of a party of 14 guests. Several with dietary restrictions (at an Italian Restaurant?, yep, plant-based and dairy allergies for 3-4 guests). The servers were attentive to the special needs and each person received entrees that were exactly as described. The food was delicious, well presented, and prepared to perfection. The server handled 7 individual receipts as if it were nothing at all. Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed the happy hour (for those who drank), appetizers, and entrees; there were no complaints, all were 5 Star. So, if you are plant-based, Vegan, or other allergy restrictions you can go to Pazza Notte knowing your server will be sure you have a most delicious meal.“

“Well let me just move into The Roost because I just found the PERFECT bar! You want a unique speakeasy bar experience? THE ROOST. You want tasty bites and delicious cocktails? THE ROOST. Looking to impress friends/date(s) on an adventurous night out? GO TO THE ROOST. I can't a speak highly enough about this experience (and it truly is an *experience*)! I decided to stop by here as a group of three one random Friday night and was not expecting much. Let me tell you, it went BEYOND my expectations. I won't spoil the speakeasy experience but be prepared to say "wow" once you get into the bar. You are welcomed with a house made aperitif to start off with and it was a great touch. Yummy too! They also give you water at your table (love this). We each ordered a drink that suited our tastes and we all loved them! They do have some pricier tastings on the menu but from what I saw, many people ordered single drinks. The karaage was a last minute order for our table and we couldn't eat it fast enough! Overall, this is a must in my books. It was worth both the wait (we didn't make a reservations so about 40mins) and the price (not "cheap" cocktails but not overly expensive either, you get what you pay for). #TeamRoost“

“Best cocktails in town!!Hands down!!Amazing prices for happy hour!I've been a bartender for over 10 years and never have I wanted to try all the cocktails on any menu before till I came here!I had 4 different ones..Definitely coming back to try the others!Even the mocktails my friend ordered were goodThe small bite were delicious alsoWe reordered some! ?I thought the bill would be in the 200's and it was only half that! All the drinks and small bites we hadI was happily shocked on how low the bill actually was!4.7 stars I rate would definitely be 5 stars if the bartender/owner smiled more and tried to be lil more social if they have time.May i suggest they leave the anchor glass pitcher with the guest for the short water glass to be refilled quicker.“

“Frank's is a cool, low-key bar with a great whiskey selection. The atmosphere is dim and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening. The scotch flight is a highlight – straightforward and enjoyable. Service is friendly and just right. If you're after a chill spot with good drinks, Frank's is worth checking out.“

“Didn't get to try the food this time, since we just came to hangout and watch the tourney. The food that others ordered looked very delicious & hot and fresh. Your typical finger food and drinking foods! Bigger selection of beers and alcohol. The service is speedy and friendly. The ambiance is very chill, the music isn't too loud. The regulars that come here are all friendly and very welcoming! I would definitely come back to watch people play more pool & have a drink with friends!“

“At Beast and Bounty, every aspect of our dining experience was exceptional. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality from the attentive staff. The service was impressively prompt, yet it never felt rushed. Our dishes arrived at the perfect intervals, allowing us to savor each course without any long waits. The staff's efficiency enhanced our overall enjoyment of the meal. Since their menu changes periodically, it allows for a different culinary experience on every visit. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish was a work of art, carefully crafted with a balance of flavors and textures that left us craving more. On this particular visit, as a starter we tried their grilled octopus, Parker house rolls and oven roasted broccoli. These were the perfect starters to our main courses. Our main courses were Prime New York Striploin and Pan Roasted Halibut. Both entrees were a walk down flavor town. The striploin was prepared perfectly and the halibut was cooked right. With a good choice of entrees and starters, they lacked in the dessert department. Only two available desserts on our visit and they were basic and not something memorable. Located on a corner of R and17th street, Beast and Bounty is more than just a restaurant--it's a culinary haven where exceptional food, fast service, and pleasant staff come together to create an unforgettable dining experience.“

“I lived in Natomas for most of my life and I have never visited this Mezcal Grill location - we usually go to the one closer to East Sacramento. We came in on a Friday at 8pm and the place was pretty busy, but we were seated right away. There was inside and patio seating and everything felt clean and modern. We ordered the Soft Flour Ground Beef Tacos and Crispy Chili Verde Tacos. The crispy tacos were not hot and neither was the rice and beans on either plate. The ground beef was super salty, to the point where I couldn't even finish and I like salt. Service was great and friendly, but I was not a huge fan of the food we ordered compared to the other location. I kept seeing other customers ordering the Molcajete so maybe we just ordered the wrong items. We'll give them another chance next time we're in the area!“

“Interesting place where you can enjoy the company of friends and others. You sort of forget your surroundings when you step inside. Sample the imported beer or the great selection of food. I've tried many of the menu items and none have left me dissatisfied.Parking: Limited lot spots. Street parking sometimes a couple blocks away.Kid-friendliness: More of an adult location. Not the best for full families.“

“I live right near this bar so it comes in clutch whenever I wanna take a walk and have a little drinky drink . Only thing I will say negatively is that older lady at the bar, it seems like she picks and chooses who she wants to be short with (if you know what I mean) .. I’ve had no problems with the guy bartender and one of the younger girls named Shauna they are welcoming EVERYONE with open arms . This bar has so much potiental for EVERYONE.. don’t put all your eggs in one basket“
“Cinders is a great bar with a large diversity in patrons and staff. The owner, Andy Soto is a fun open guy that will get down with anyone. Kevin Frankenstein is a great professional bartender. He pays attention to the patrons and recalls what you like to drink. Beast, security: Great guy with a gentle giant vibes. Ivys Entertainment on Wednesdays and Thursdays is really amazing! Has the best sound system.“

“My best friend and I met up here for an early dinner last week and everything we tried was super fresh and flavorful. We had never tried this particular cuisine before, so our waitress gave us some suggestions. We ended up with the Spicy Garlic Prawns, Kimchi Fried Rice and Potstickers. Banchan were served before our entrees and gave us a chance to try new flavors. My baby niece enjoyed it all. Nothing was too spicy or overpowering for her, but at the same time nothing was skimping on flavor.“
“It's been awhile since I've been here but was pleasantly surprised by the remodel. It isn't as dark and dank as it once was and they added more pool tables. Tables are a little pricy, one table is $1.50 per game which is fine but all the others are $12 an hour. While it was dead when we were there, we were literally the only ones, there also isn't much seating aside from around the bar. Bathrooms are connected to the bowling alley so it can get pretty messy in there from all the patrons on the bowling side. Another downside is they have no music! They have a touchtunes machine but that's it. If your not forking out $$$$ for songs, they have nothing playing. Overall, if you're looking to play some pool, this place could be an option. Just make sure to get the $1.50 per game table and not the hourly ones.“
“If you like your cocktails served with a shot of pretension, this is the place for you. The drinks are quite good and taste fresh. The place is cute. It’s a good place to bring your drink snob friends, but if you are not one yourself prepare to be publicly shamed by the bartender as he looks down his nose at you. I feel like he was more focused on maintaining his superiority than helping me find a drink I’d like. On the plus side, he said he’d make me a different one if I didn’t like the one I chose. It’s a nice atmosphere for catching up with old friends, not too loud or crowded.“

“Third visit here, typically excellent food but it didn't meet expectations this time around. We sat outside thinking it would be quieter than the bar area... but then they turned up the volume on the patio speakers too and it kind of ruined the vibe. I'll still come back for the tasty chicken.Parking: Anticipate walking a block or so“

“Love this local neighborhood joint! My boyfriend and I went here for a date night and we weren't disappointed. We loved that it was in walking distance and it had a nice patio for outdoor seating to enjoy the weather! I really enjoyed the tacos because I thought they were really authentic. The Vampiro taco was Al pastor with bits of pineapple, which I found refreshing to balance out the flavor. The carne asada taco was good but I think it needed something else on it like guacamole or salsa. I really liked the chips and salsa appetizer that we got because the salsa trio was well thought out: fried jalapeño, chili verde, and red salsa. All of them were homemade, which homemade, which is why I enjoyed them so much! Overall, we will be coming back over the summer!“
