Great place if you want traditional Northern Chinese BBQ.

This spot is my preferred one. I eat in many restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The stuff is very warm and the cuisine they cook is so tasty. I never decline to have a decent meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.

We love eating out. Last night we found this delicious place which friends told us about. We had a beautiful experience there with very good dishes and an efficient crew and a distinguished chef. We put this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly return very soon. We deeply recommend.

There are several AYCE hot pot restaurants in the area, with varying prices and different quality and assortment of food. Hot Point Hot Pot is one of the no frills, who cares about the ambience, good assortment, you get a good deal type hot pot restaurants. There's this location in Rosemead as well as one in Arcadia (the Arcadia location is much newer, but the ingredients are more sparse and limited compared to Rosemead's). Hot Point Hot Pot is located in the plaza with Tip Top Sandwiches. As of now, not sure if they're offering anything for to-go with the current shutdown of restaurant dining, but before the quarantine, this place does get filled up pretty quickly during the weekend. Because it's AYCE, if you miss the first wave of empty tables, be prepared for a wait. Price is $17.99 all-day on weekends and you get the option of 2 soup bases. I like the healthy soup, tomato soup, and the mushroom healthy soup. I can't really tell a difference between the two healthy ones, but the broth has decent flavor. What I like about Hot Point Hot Pot is that they have a good variety of ingredients that most other AYCE hot pot places don't have, especially the traditional Chinese ones like taro, bamboo shoots, baby corn, quail eggs, taro, wintermelon, lotus root, yam noodles, etc. Definitely an assortment that's great for vegetarians. As for meat, we almost always order just the beef and pork - the meat is on the fatty side, which my friend is not a fan of, but I think it tastes fine. There's a ton of vegetables (normally not found in other places like a-choy, tong ho, etc. Ton of noodles and other items located in the fridge as well as seafood, beef and fishballs in the counter area. They also have a good assortment of sauces and spices to create the exact sauce that you want. We did order a hot tea and wasn't aware that they charged a fee for that - basically giving us a teabag and some hot water. Sometimes the items get restocked slowly or the workers are super busy or not too attentive. But for the price, you can't expect too much. The hot pot stations aren't the newest - once when we came, a family had to move tables because one of the pots just shut down in the middle of their meal. tl;dr - One of the AYCE hot pot joints I like to visit. Always am super full after eating; price is fairly cheap and the assortment of items is pretty good compared to other hot pot restaurants.

Very well kept and accessible spot. They offer large meals and for affordable prices. I liked the menu a lot and the staff members were very amiable and explanatory. Highly recommended.

This is under new ownership and it's profit over pleasing customers. Absolutely disappointed with new ownership. We experienced the same issue as Eva L. shared. The briskets were white as marshmallows. The excuse was that's all they have left which is utter BS. Its because it's the most requested AYCE refill meat so they intentionally give you this inedible white fat so you can leave. They used to offer a cash discount but that's no longer available. This was a little hole in the wall with descent quality food. Now it's a complete waste of time and money. Save your money and head further East.

Be careful of darker tables, bugs love to hide in the shadows and pop out when they smell raw seafood.

Brings all the hot pot necessities at an affordable price of $20 for dinner ($17 for lunch). Small business owner offering a big selection for the price. Anyone asking for the world can go be disappointed at boiling point. Recommended.

Recently aTe here and after my recent huge disappointment at another place I was pleasantly surprised. The very tastey sauce choices (half the experience) were excellent. My disappointment and lower marks were primarily around the meats. I didn't expect wagu at the very reasonable price, and limited choices made sense. That said I would have liked the meats to have been sliced a little thicker to retain more flavor. The sides seemed fresh enough and service was attentive. Would return with the hope they see this and are willing to take some advice.

I constantly stop by grabbing some food in this spot. I liked the fast service and well cooked food. They never disappoint.
