50 Best Mediterranean Restaurants near Rowland Heights

“In my time in the Greater LA area, I've stuck with trying mostly Asian eateries as those are typically the spots I feel the most comfortable with. But with the diverse food offerings in the Rowland Heights area in particular, I felt inclined to try something new. With that said, a friend recommended me to try Halal Guys after having previous experiences enjoying halal meats.For this experience, I ordered Halal Guys off of Uber Eats on a Monday night to avoid the traffic on the 60 and chose to try their Beef and Chicken Combo Platter which was around 14 dollars before tax. And from that point, I waited for about 30-40 minutes for my food to arrive at my place. Upon arrival, the food was bagged in layers which kept the food warm which was a nice touch.Opening the bag, each item was given in a foil pan with a plastic lid which helped keep the food inside warm without making the food soggy. And with that, it made receiving the food that much more impressionable. Opening the lid, I was quite surprised by the amount of portion given inside. About 70% of the bowl was filled with large quantities of beef and chicken. Because of this, the dish was meat dominated and ended up being quite filling. The tomatoes, lettuce, and four pieces of pita bread took up the remaining area and prevented the dish from tasting too meaty. For last, the rice that layered the bottom was given in good portion too: not too starchy, and not too scarce. In all, the large quantity given was well worth the expenditure at 14 dollars in the Rowland Heights area. There was so much given, in fact, that the single combo lasted two meals! Price to portion ratio? Very good!The taste of the food was also very impressive! Starting off, the turmeric and cumin-seasoned rice was quite light in texture and was seasoned generously. This allowed the flavor profile of the rice to give the rest of the items in the dish a baseline to work off of. For next, the lettuce and tomatoes tasted fresh, just like you would imagine them to taste: watery, crunchy, and a tad sweet. As for the pita, the texture was soft yet dry, which helped to absorb the moisture from the added white sauce and hot sauce. Furthermore, the bread interior had a hint of what I identified as olive oil which helped the bread taste a bit doughy and subtly salty. As for the meats, the chicken was my favorite of the two as the pieces inside were lightly seasoned with black pepper which tasted heavenly with the flavor of the rice. The chicken's texture was very soft despite the fact it was fully cooked, making each piece melt in the mouth. Although the beef was good as well, it was more on the dry side and tasted much heavier. This could be in part because the meat was sliced thinner, causing the meat to dry out faster and for seasoning to dominate over the amount of area well on each piece.The dish was fine by itself. But including the packaged white sauce, I found the overall taste even more memorable. Tasting like a lighter ranch, each component of the dish was able to attain a greater cohesive texture and creamy taste. Achieving a balance like this is very difficult when you add sauce to a dish, leaving me to crave more of their famous large packets of white. On the other hand, I found the hot sauce to be too spicy to the point that it dominated over any texture or flavor of the food. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the spice level was close to a 6. Definitely eat some pita to counter the spice should your spice tolerance be low.For this experience with Halal Guys, I would argue Halal Guys deserves a 5 star rating hands down. The portion size was very large for the price compared to most other eateries of this kind and restaurants in this area in general. For the price, the quality was definitely there, having better meat quality than many places that charge almost double the price. Although I found the beef was over-seasoned and on the dry side, it's not to say it was bad by any means. For the next time I return though, I would opt for Chicken Platter instead. “The service and food are phenomenal! The staff was super helpful and informative when describing sauces and sides. I got the turmeric chicken schwarma and the cilantro pesto chicken schwarma and the flavors just melted in my mouth. I also had the tumeric lemonade and it was the perfect amount of tartness. I even got the baklava and it was so flaky and sweet. Definitely coming here again!“

The chef was so helpful she gave me most excellent recommendations the lamb melted off the bone and chef even suggested to put the molokhia on the rice which was the best suggestion the rice was delicious blend of grains and the molokhia brought the flavor out. “The Green Olive is a small chain Mediterranean restaurant that generally sets up in industrial areas to keep their costs down and to service the working people of those areas. If you like Mediterranean Food there are very few who can compete with The Green Olive. Their chicken kabobs are absolutely amazing. Additionally, I tried their salmon kabobs I was pleasantly surprised but the tenderness and seasonings on the salmon and vegetables. The only knock I can say is that their rice doesn’t have much taste however with the variety of sauces it will make the rice pop specially the green sauce. They have vegetarian options. “Late lunch so we did a quick grab and go from Mazaya. We paid for it - relax. The grape leaves are absolutely my favorite. Hummus is a solid choice. The French fries are like those late night post party open late burger stop. They have a crunch, soft tasty center and season with good ol’ salt. The chicken this time was a little dry but that’s ok. Wont stop us from going back. Services are quick and the place is clean and comfortable.“

“We typically always tend to go there for my in-laws birthdays because they are so close together. We love Mediterranean food and this place really has very good food. They offer different sizes and selections of plates which is a great fit for all of us because we can share or we can get something small if we know we aren't going to finish it or get something larger and take it home to eat again later. “Came here randomly for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I like Mediterranean food and tend to favor the Iranian kabobs, like Koobideh and Soltani filet mignon. This place is Armenian and has their versions which are also good. The chicken kabobs were juicy and marinated well. All the different sides we got were delicious. The only thing that was little dry was the beef Lule...the Iranian version beef Koobideh is usually juicy and seasoned very well.I would definitely eat here again.“

“Do we visited the lounge side of this restaurant (chapter 4). I love the outdoor tables. I guess you can smoke your cigars and drink your well drinks to a quaint outdoor setting. I got the Latin Lover and my boyfriend got some whiskey drink. Noth were extremely strong so we nursed it the entire time. The Japanese snacks were free and yummy but we ordered the steak and fries...no Bueno! It was super duper dry and overcooked. Don't go here for food...just drinks and nice outdoor ambiance.“

“Limone' is located inside the Glendora Public Market food hall and offers fresh, chef driven Mediterranean street food. Order and food pickup is at the counter with plenty of self seating available and parking is free. My mom and I wanted to check the market out for lunch and found Limone' to be the most appetizing to us and it also seemed to be the healthiest option. We ordered the Tahini-Ceasar Salad and the Cali-Chop Salad with Falafel: They were somewhat pricey (protein is an add on) but were good portion size, fresh and delicious. Limone is also available for order on Uber Eats, Grub Hub and Door Dash. If you're in the area and/or in the mood for good Mediterranean food, give them a try!“

“This was some of the best Middle Eastern food I've had, and I've eaten at a lot Mediterranean restaurants. The lamb skewer was perfectly cooked and very tasty, the babaganoush was amazing and their rice was incredible. My wife had the chicken shawarma and hummus, again, both were very good. Our server Mike was genuinely friendly and attentive and served free baklava because it was my birthday. Great place, nice atmosphere and really good value of quality and portion size compared to price. I highly recommend D'vine. They have a location closer to us in Corona so we will definitely be going there soon.“

I've served their delicious food at Graduation, Birthday and Holiday parties and it is always a big hit. I tried the Vegan Chicken wrap which is quite different -- besides the vegan chicken, they put french fries, ketchup, pickles and garlic. It sounded strange but it was tasty. Although, if I ordered it again, I might ask them to customize it to make it a bit healthier.“

“I am traveling for work and a colleague brought me here for dinner. I was impressed with the quality and flavor of the tzatziki and chicken kabobs. The portion size was quite large for the price and enough for 2 people. The staff was very kind and attentive. Definitely will be back.“

The interior is decorated with beautiful stone like masonry and other items that gives the place a very traditional, medieval and/or even ancient vibe to it. There are only 5 tables for sitting inside (22ish people max) but the patio area a lots for much more seating capacity. The cheese Maneesh is excellent as always as is the zaatar. And fortunately, the lahmbi3ajeen maneesh was even better than last time. The food is a little on the expensive side but it seems like that is the trend everywhere in southern California and probably in the US in general as well.Vegetarian options: Maneesh, falafel, humus, labne and much much more.Parking: The parking lot could get full sometimes but usually there is always plenty of parking spots available. Additional street Parking is available as well within 20-40 yards (meters).“

“This is definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover" place. While we were looking for a traditional pizza parlor, we're glad we stayed. The pizza was great, and because the adjacent taco shop is owned by the same owner, we were able to have a taco appetizer while waiting for our pizza.“
