I think this place is popular for its authentic menu variety and ambiance rather than overall quality. Food was average to decent, not that impressive for me personally, and the price was pretty high (we paid around $100 total for 2 ppl). You order everything a la carte which adds up fast. The lamb was chewy no matter how quickly you cooked it, shrimp paste cooked mushier than I preferred. Fish fillet was tender though. We considered ordering more meat but the additional cost didn't feel worth it. The sauce bar ($3pp) was nice though, lots of ingredients as well as crackers and a dessert station. Some reviews complained about the service, but I thought it was fine. One odd thing was they don't have hot tea, only hot water to drink. Overall I didn't feel I got a $50 per person experience, and would probably go elsewhere for my hot pot fix (there's so many spots in this area to choose from). At a similar price, I prefer Haidilao.

Great spot if you like mala (numbing and spicy) hotpot. It's Chongqing style, so spicy means spicy, and there are quite a few Sichuan peppercorns floating around--some don't like that, but I love it and that's exactly what I was looking for. They do have split pots so that you can get half spicy half not if you have a group with mixed preferences. Service was really good, and the sauce bar was legit, complete with all the most important elements in quantity for mixing up a dipping sauce just how you like it. It also had a good selection of other snacks, mostly carbs, but also a really nice pickled radish. Could be improved with a little fruit, like some sliced cantaloupe or something, but I'm not complaining.

It was my first time trying this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. I got their mushroom broth because I cannot do mala. Service was quick and the meat was really good! There was a long way on a Friday night however, we checked in on our way there. The parking is hectic, however, definitely will come back .

Would've rated higher if I could've!! My first review and for good reason!Great food, great service, and very clean and lively atmosphere. The food is exceptionally high quality [and they give free refills on drinks! (They're very generous with the drink size too)], the waitresses will occasionally bring around snacks alongside the free snack and sauce bar.Overall an unforgettable experience! Would recommend to absolutely ANYONE!!Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly, the waitresses are very helpful & willing despite their busy schedule. To top it off the restaurant offers cornucopias of free snacks!!

Food: we ordered the pig ears in spicy chili oil and it was my favorite! It was so flavorful and perfect on top of rice. The broths were savory and paired perfectly with anything put in. We ordered the fresh beef, thin sliced beef, thin sliced lamb, shrimp paste, and veggie combo. I will say, the fresh beef was recommended to us by the waiter, but we won't be ordering it next time because the meat was too thick. Although, it was tender! The thin sliced lamb and beef were of great quality and cooked quickly. A waitress helped us with the shrimp paste and I really enjoyed the bounciness and flavor of it in the broths. Veggies were fresh. The sauce/snack/dessert bar was fun! They had a variety of desserts and we were excited for the fungus dessert soup. Service: upon entering we were greeted in Chinese and they continued to speak to us in Chinese lol (we are not Chinese and only spoke English to them). They were quick and got us started with ordering as soon as we sat down. Ambiance: packed on a Saturday night at 6:30pm , but we only waited for about 10min. You know it's good and authentic when the tables are all Chinese families! Note: we should've asked to take the broth home! We regretted it the next day when we were craving the hotpot again.

I've always wanted to try this place and hot weather can't stop me from coming. To enjoy the best of both worlds, we got spicy mild and bone soup pot as our bases. Even though it was mild, they take their spicy levels seriously because everything that went into that broth came out with a strong peppercorn taste and spice. I love all forms of tofu so the bean combo sounded perfect. It comes with tofu skin, bean curd stick, fried starch ball, and fresh tofu skin. It's the best because it soaks up all of that delicious broth. That also goes for veggie too se we ordered the green leaves vegetables combo which came with tong ho, spinach, Chinese cabbage and a choy. We couldn't decide what meat to order so fresh beef sounded the simplest but I was surprised when it came with a raw egg that they mixed into the meat before serving it to us. Cuttlefish dumpling also sounded like a delicious entree but I was also surprised by that one when it arrived because they were shaped more like Korean rice cakes than dumplings. The sauce bar is where it's at though. You become an innovator here combining toppings and bases left and right until you have the perfect concoction...or maybe the opposite if you added too much of everything. There's also a snack bar right above it and a side bar next to it where you can grab sesame balls and what I believe were fries. We went at an off time so there was no wait and the servers came by often and even offered us fresh sesame balls every time a new batch was made.

I visited on a rainy day and it was surprisingly not busy. Service was prompt and since it was slow, they brought around freshly baked sesame balls. Food is always high quality here and I enjoy their sauce bar that they don't charge extra for like some other places. Portions were huge and the total with tip came out to be around $130 for three people and we left feeling stuffed and satisfied. :)

Do you love hot pot and want to enjoy a nice dinner with friends? This place in Rowland is not as bad as I taught it would be. A friend had recommended me to come and try it out so I said why not. It's a pretty traditional Chinese-style hot pot. You choose your base from their selections of different soups. Usually, most people would pick one spicy and one with a vegetable broth. There are a ton of different items to choose from on meat, vegetables, tofu, fish balls, and other items that you want to enjoy in the pot. I would suggest putting most if not all of the vegetables on the non-spicy side. I messed up and decided to put the vegetables on the spicy side, it was super spicy! My favorite also has quail eggs inside! This can be put on both sides. There is no wrong way or order you have to do for hot pot. Just let things cook and enjoy.

I love this place better than Irvine location. Not as crowded. Parking is hard because of the other famous places in the same plaza. Food snacks wise has more option than Irvine location as well. Service at first sounds like not that great, but it's actually is good, they will take care of you, they really try.
