“As a hotpot lover, I could never fine a better place in Sac then Grand Hotpot Lounge. I visited this place 4th time in a month. The happy hour option is just the BEST! If you like AYCE and great options with hotpot then you can’t miss it out. Definitely will come back with more friends.“

“Came for dinner one day. Casual dumpling restaurant.
Food was generally good. A lot of strong and savory flavors.
Enjoyed the beef roll the most! The meat inside was tender and juicy, while the wrapping was crispy and flaky.“

“My husband and I are newer to the Sacramento area so we haven’t found too many go-to spots yet. We wanted Chinese food and so I looked up places around us and this one had really good reviews. It was about 20 minutes from where we live. The staff was very very friendly, they checked in with us and asked if we needed anything as we ate. We got two different combination plates and a side of potstickers. The plates come with whatever main item you choose and pork fried rice and chicken chow mein unless you tell them otherwise. The plates were pretty packed, the food was hot/fresh and it was very delicious. The potstickers are fried but not overly crunchy which we like. Very good and affordable compared to other places we looked at. The only downside is there is no restroom and nowhere to go in that little plaza and it smelt like someone was smoking cigarettes in the back. Other than that, it was a great first time experience and we will definitely come back!“

“Every time you come to or pass by Sacramento, you must come to this famous "OLD GUI LINE" Rice noodles shop in Beiwan to eat a big bowl! The boss is a conscientious businessman. Each bowl of Rice noodles is served with two kinds of meat and soup. Customers can add about 10 kinds of seasonings at will. The key is free of tips! No tips! Each person can eat very full for $15 (including tax), making every guest satisfied. Merchants must be given full marks!“

“Friday, 10/25/2024 - Tried "Pho Viet Anh" for dinner for the 1st time. Address is 9529 Folsom Blvd A, Sacramento, CA 95827. They have a nice medium parking lot. We found parking right away. Domino's Pizza is in the front of the building and they are towards the back. Upon arrival....
Pros
1) There was no wait. We seated ourself.
2) the waiter was very nice and patient with us. He let us review the online menu.
3) they didn't provide any hard copy menu. You have to scan the QR code for the menu. It's located on the table.
4) we got the strawberry Lemonade drink ($5.00). It was very tart. A little hard to drink. But we dranked it.
5) We got the large combo pho ($17.00) with the greens on the side. The broth was good. We didn't need to put any of the sauce condiments into the pho broth. We just ate it as is.
6) we got the chicken viet sandwich ($10.20). Sandwich was really good. But watch out. The jalapeño is super spicey. We removed a few jalapeño and the made it less spicey.
7) water tasted good. No funky or metal taste.
8) clean. Our table, chairs, utensils plates, bowls, cups looked clean.
9) they did check on our table to make sure all was good and if we needed anything else.
Cons
1) the menu is small. not much to choose from. But it makes it easier to pick something to eat.
Conclusion
We liked this restaurant. Customer service was great. Food menu is small, but perfect. Made it easier to pick something quickly. Pho was delicious. Chicken viet sandwich was great. Parking was easy. We didn't have any wait time. We'd go here again.“

“The noodle soup is good. Definitely unique with the crispy fatty pork and fried peanuts. I never had Guilin rice noodle before, so it didn’t have the same nostalgia points for me.
3star for the service. It was fast, but the waitress was a grumpy.
Place is packed with Chinese patrons, loud with people talking, and one guy was eating while watching a show on his cellphone with volume turned up.“

“Truly awesome food. Don't let the outside deter you.

“The pan fried pork dumpling with the house sauce is great and the wrapper is made in house. The cream cheese wontons are not my cup of tea because of the onions in them. Overall would come here again! 12 dumplings for $9 and the dumplings are a good size too.“

Must try: lamb / pork belly with mushrooms/ oyster/ pancakes/ rice noodles and dumplings 🥟. Will come back soon:) good luck on your new business 🤗“

“I went here to order their cheung fun. They have shrimp and chive rice rolls, which is my favorite dim sum item, but you have the option to add eggs! It was delicious and I got a lot of food for how much I paid for one. The rice roll had thin layers and it was so good. I drove from Reno to try this and I was not disappointed. ? ?“

“Jade Foundation Cafe is a restaurant known by almost all Chinese in Sacramento. They are one of the best wonton noodle soup restaurants. They are famous for their wontons and dumplings with or without the noodles. The beef stew and pig feet are also my favorite dishes there too. They also have many yummy Chinese dishes, and porridge is also available. The service is fast and attentive.
Parking: The parking lot is very tiny and shared with many businesses and restaurants. Street parking is available but also hard to get.

“I came here specifically to eat at this restaurant on my way back from Lassen. It tastes delicious, has generous portions, and is reasonably priced. The claypot rice with pork ribs and roasted meat is delicious, as are the beef tenderloin with assorted mushrooms and chicken in roasted sauce. It's better than the Cantonese food touted in some eastern US cities.“

“Good and authentic Hunan restaurant. Admittedly it would be difficult to know what to order if you aren't Chinese, but the typical Cantonese dishes won't be the best here.
However the Hunan dishes are great. The Sichuan dishes are also around the best in the Sacramento area, but nowhere near the best Sichuan restaurants I've been to. However, great spices and flavors overall.“

“Why do the serve spaghetti at a Chinese restaurant? It taste good though. Smothered in cheese. I think the sauce is sweet and sour sauce. Happy hour drinks take forever to prepare and service needs work. Minus one star. Try the giant pork leg too.“

“One of my favorite local restaurants. Always great service and yummy food! Been coming here for a few years now as I used to live in Rosemont. I moved about half an hour away now but I still meet my mom here every couple months. Worth checking out.
Vegetarian options: My family is vegan. I am vegetarian. There's enough options in the vegetable and tofu sections to have a variety of dishes for family style. Also I adore the vegetable tofu soup.
Parking: A few spots directly in front of Jade Garden and it's tucked into a big strip mall so worst case you can park 20 yards away. Plenty of space.“

“I came over via bus on the way back home from university, decided to drop by to eat the lunch special with Mongolian beef and chow mien. Bill came out to twenty (fifteen with the special + hot tea, five dollar tip). The beef and chow mien were alright, they were nothing special but there was an degree of flavor with the way the sauce and chili coated the beef and kneaded in with the (meatless) chow mien section. At the time of my visit, this place has the hallmarks of an 1980s holdover Chinese restaurant joint, with paper posters, gold-leaf printed olive carpet, plastic ivy, and those good ol, chunky chopsticks, cool natural lighting and ceramic plates.“

“My friend told me that the New China Restaurant in the Pocket Area is under new management, and they have new menus and new chefs. We decided to have our dinner there last night.I found out they have a new sign at the front door, and the dining room is completely remodeled. The dining room is brand new and comfortable. They have new menus, including many Hong Kong-style yummy dishes and drinks. Some sections listed are coming soon. I can't wait to see more delicious items added to their menu in the near future. All the dishes we get are so good, and we have excellent services. New China is my favorite restaurant in Sacramento now!
Parking: They have more parking space in the parking lot with a short walk if the parking in front of the restaurant is full.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair friendly“

“I think they have the best chow mein in town. And they make really good hamburgers (and perfect fries) for less than any of our local chain store/fast food places.Their broccoli beef is super yummy too. So to their fried rice. I haven't tried much else from their extensive menu but I suppose I should because I like all their food that I have tried. I am also very sensitive to MSG and have never ever gotten a headache after eating their food; and I react quickly and painfully to even a trace of that stuff in my food.
This is a take-out location. There is no seating for eating there, but they are fast with any order. Call your order in and it'll be ready when you get there.“

“Excellent quality and flavor. We ordered Siu mai, steamed pork and soup dumplings, but the real stars were the shrimp and pea shoot dumplings. I was definitely surprised about this location at a ghost kitchen and food pick up spot located in the north downtown area. Be aware that this is a automated/screen order venue that only accepts mobile payments and no cash.“

He made me feel comfortable as well as welcoming to ask "how many days will all this food last... One person? He chuckled and responded with" alot of days." That's the plan I said in return. Lol ... Great place to get some amazing mouth watering grub for the soul.. well and my thighs. Lol
Parking: I am not too fond of downtown Sacramento but this is right off of J Street and it was so easy to get to that location“

“If you were thinking of ordering Chinese food from your local orange chicken mill, please don't. It is difficult to find an amazing restaurant in the turgid swamp of modern Chinese victuals, and I'm very pleased to say this is one. Avoid any buffet-style offerings, and enjoy an authentic Sacramento experience at Frank Fat's.
From the moment their concierge took our vehicle away from our meager, hungry hands--to the moment our server, Luis, held the door for us on our way out--my grandmother and I had a fantastic evening we won't soon forget. She has been coming to this Sacramento hotspot since the year after it opened. (They opened in 1939)
Luis, our server, was amazing. It was my first time in the restaurant, despite my grandmother's incorrigible tenure. Luis explained to the both of us the exquisite delicacies we were soon to enjoy, and also a few that I will have to return and sample on a later occasion. We ordered the half Peking duck, the honey walnut prawns, and the delectably spicy Singapore rice noodles. It was absolutely to die for. Turns out you make a saucy little taco out of the rice buns that come with the duck. It was absolutely more awesome than I could ever describe.
We've all had honey walnut shrimp right? No, you haven't. I hate to gatekeep like that, but unless you've had this one, you legitimately haven't had the proper dish.
Right as we were winding up, and as I thought bursting my stomach open in a public place would be worth it just to taste the amazing food for a moment longer, Luis brought us a special gift: a slice of their famous banana pie. Now, although my grandma says it's different every time (she's been going for 84 years, anyone know a solid banana pie supplier?) she did say it was one of the best she has ever had. If I hadn't had the need to escort my toddling grandmother out of the restaurant as she used to do for me at Charles Cheddar's Fun Factory and the like, I would have crammed nearly that entire slice of pie in my face. I had to resign the majority to my grandmother, despite it being a sacrificial offering for my first time in the establishment.
It took like, I don't know, 3-5 minutes between when Luis dropped off our check, to when he was holding the door open for us as we left the restaurant. How was he not there and then suddenly there?? He was like Batman. My grandma has to hold on to me and we kind of have to do ballet to get through narrow spots and doorways without her loosing her balance, so this was a godsend in itself. If the service up until this point hadn't been amazing already, this would have secured Frank Fat's a spot in my heart.
Thank you, Luis, you rock. Managers you better read this and give that dude a raise. I'm serious, I'll come back and ask about it; I don't wanna be a Karen, but I will for Luis. I'm just joking, but really. Guys. Recognize that man's amazing service. In fact, everyone there was absolutely amazing. Our busboy or whatever his job title is got my grandma her coffee order, and I could tell that's not really his gig. But, she got it as fast as an amazing coffee could be brewed and delivered. Thanks dude, wish I got his name.
I hope I got Luis' name right. Oh jeez. Ohhh jeez.
I had my leftovers and got the inspiration to write this. Full disclosure here: I've never felt more free and loose. A meal here might help your marriage. Idk, I'm not a doctor, and I went with my grandma.
Frank I'm guessing is no longer with us, wild assumption (85 years), but my oh my if he didn't birth the most amazing Chinese food restaurant I've ever been to, then I'll be a Peking duck.“
