I had been keeping my eye on this place for a while and finally decided to try it out. We weren’t greeted when we walked in, as the waitress looked like she was the only one working there at that time. They have some chairs that smell like they were recently painted. I think they rearranged some of their stuff. You could still smell the painted chairs and that smell bothered a bit. The food was okay, and I do wonder if I should have tried the pupusas. The food wasn’t anything out of this world. It is okay to try it once, but most likely I won’t be returning. They should work more on their customer service.

Had a craving for pupusas on the way home from the airport and stopped into La Sonsonateca. Couldn't be more happy with our experience and food quality. There is plenty of seating for large groups and we appreciated the aesthetic! The gentleman who took our orders and brought us our meals was very nice and accommodating. And can't say enough about how delicious everything we ordered was. I love their selection of pupusas. Everything tasted amazing. Definitely found our favorite El Salvadoran restaurant!

This has been our favorite pupusa spot since we moved to this area last year. My husband is Salvadoran and VERY picky when it comes to Salvadoran food. We have tried many pupusa places around the area and La Sonsonateca is our favorite! The pupusas are cooked to order, so they are fresh and delicious. The salsa and curtido is always on point, and the other food we've ordered has always tasted amazing. They've recently added brand new tables and spruced up their decor, making it an even better experience. They are all friendly, courteous, and we have always received the best service.

The food was delicious. I wish the lady who rang up my order was alittle more friendly and helpful. It was my first time eating Salvadorian food.

They have the best pupusas in the whole Northern California and the best Salvadoran tamales I have ever tasted. Their chimichanga is superb and the staff is friendly and fast. The new updated seating is amazing ?Vegetarian options: While I was there I heard a lady ordering a vegetarian dish :)Kid-friendliness: The staff is so kind and friendly that makes us want to come in a few times a week.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp right outside the restaurant ana the tables are all wheelchair accessible.

Delicious pupusas! This is the closest pupusa joint to Roseville and they really hit the spot. Got one cheese, one chicken and cheese and a plate of plantains and beans. The cream is great on all of it too. Will definitely be back! Service was quick and staff is friendly too

Don’t believe the negative reviews or you will miss out! Best corn tamales and Pupusas in the area. Salsa and curtido are very tasty and authentic.

What can I say as a Salvadoran, I don't see pupusas with white beans well. The breads with chicken are not that good, they are missing. The corn atol is not good and is served cold.Cashew soda tastes like sugar water.I give the beef soup a six out of ten for a fair flavor but they serve it cold.Regarding the cost, I don't see it as expensive, but $20 for a bowl of soup, you might say.

Authentic Salvadoran food. My wife and extended family are Salvadoran, and this is the best place we know for pupusas and plantain. The only place that comes close to the good flavor this location offers is in San Francisco, and is more expensive.Do yourself a favor, eat here; it's as if you were in El Salvador itself.
