Food was pretty subpar and the cafe latte lacked good flavor. Service was ok. They were very packed, so we got sat outside. It was chilly so they had the plastic curtains down and it just made the place look drab. The outside seating area definitely needs some tlc as it looks totally run down. Didn't really see the inside but just briefly walking through it, it reeked of seafood.

We came on a busy Saturday afternoon just after 1pm and was busy. We were greeted right away from the host and what seemed like a manager. He was very attentive and after we were given a 35 minute wait, they had us seated in 15 minutes. Natasha was our server and she was sweet and attentive. Gave good recommendations and service was amazing. The omelette was delicious and full of flavor. My mother and grandmother had the Monte Cristo and it was very delicious. Had a hint of sweetness and was very good. Definitely loved this experience and will be back.

Sit inside don’t sit outside because they’re doing construction or it’s just hot. It doesn’t really have a view but the service and the food is excellent. The bathrooms needed some attention but overall it’s friendly there and the food was really good always good. We’ve gone there several times we’re locals.

I enjoy eating at Rio. It is in the heart of Old Sacramento which makes it a great restaurant to take family and friends from out of town. Parking on special weekends can be difficult but there is a lot near the restaurant that is convenient to walk to. The drinks are great and I personally love their cheese sourdough loaf! I would recommend it for brunch or a light lunch.

I had an early Saturday dinner at the Rio City Cafe. The Prime Rib was tender and juicy. It was not the best I have ever had, but for $38 I can't complain. For dessert I tried the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream and carmel sauce. It was pretty tasty.

My family hosted an event here last weekend. Big shout out to Whitney our server, who has been amazing from the time we arrived to set up, until we wrapped up our event. Everyone had a lot of fun and the private room was amazing. Highly recommend this place for private events. The only reason I didn't give a 5 stars is because the food is mediocre but the cheesy bread was the bomb.

My wife and I ate here on our last night of visiting Sacramento on Monday March 4th. We had made reservations which is highly recommended. After being seated and even receiving our drinks, my wife wanted to move because of the noise from larger crowds around our table. Upon speaking with the manager, Chris, he graciously met our request and made other accommodations that better suited us. Kevin, our waiter, continued to serve our table. Kevin was most hospitable, good natured and helped make sure our evening was enjoyable. The food is "amazing"! I had the marinated swordfish and my wife the honey roasted half chicken which was very tasty and moist. They offer a large selection of cocktails and wines. I'm very gluten sensitive, so I was surprisingly pleased they had a flourless chocolate cake on the desert menu. It was fantastic! The kitchen really does exemplify the best in culinary skills. Thank you RIO CITY CAFE for a wonderful evening in downtown Sacramento!

Sat out on the patio. Area was dirty and dated. Bathrooms were a disaster. Overflowing garbage and broken soap dispensers. The food was OK, but not worth the price. I will not be going back.

We had a party of 5. The cafe easily accepted our extra guest. We requested Meagan to be our server and she graciously accepted. It was our daughter's birthday. We ordered from the brunch menu. The Cafe was busy but the wait was not long. This is in fact due to the efficiency of our server and other staff. We feel we have found a jewel in the waterfront. Excellent food, excellent service, and reasonable priced. Can't wait to go again!
