Food was excellent. Service had some high points but the server seemed a bit burnt out and fake. Still, everything arrived as we asked. Our table was not really crumbed well. Also, the server rushed through the additions as if she had said the same thing a thousand times. The host (maybe he was the manager) was charming as was the food runner and busser. We ordered 2 desserts, the butterscotch pudding was heavily lauded by the server and was good but not the best I've ever had. We also ordered the bruleed banana split which redefines a banana split and was by far the best dessert we had in the over 12 restaurants we visited while in the wine country. Pasta with tiger prawns, peas, lemon and capers in a light cream was excellent but would have benefitted from a little more linguini. In all, I recommend Market to anyone who is living in or visiting Calistoga.

After reading the reviews, I had pretty high expectations of this place. Definitely frequented by locals. In fact, we were waiting for a table and two groups came in and were seated before us.  Our waitress was very friendly, but again she was distracted by a local resident who would not let her do her job. Food was good but nothing memorable. Caesar salad.. basic. Burger.. too greasy, Gnocchi.. light but heavy. We were not drinking wine that night but the fact that locals do not pay a corkage fee, but tourists do isn't fair in my opinion.

What didn't I love about the lunch we had at market. Spectacular service from the moment we entered the door, a super-knowledgeable waiter, delicious food and wine. I cannot say enough about it!

Loved the chicken dish. The Halibut needed to have a little more flavor for me, but was done perfectly. We love the ambiance of this place nestled in downtown St. Helena. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We will go every chance we get!

Returning guest - always include Market on our itinerary. This year they changed the tuna tartare. Good but not as great as when done with avocado and tomato. Prime rib was done perfectly - rare and tender. Butterscotch pudding consistently a delight.
The food here is excellent....especially the Mac and cheese. Locals eat here too so you know it is good. Service was awesome and she gave lots of recommendations as well. We will definitely be back.
Market never disappoints, we were an 8:15 seating , never rushed , restaurant was full when we came in, owner is amazing and his staff is just as wonderful. Was dining for our 1 year anniversary and my partner was highly impressed. Have been going here for over 10 years !! If they only could bring back the s'mores dessert !!!

Market is one of go to restaurants especially with guests. Always friendly and solid food good. Ribs, fried chicken, fish and chips and their burger are solid favorite comfort foods. Their fish, pork chop, lobster roll and salads are tasty and fresh. Cocktails are fun. I had the two face with tequila. Pretty and yummy. Alfie our waiter is always so friendly and knowledgeable. Ramon is the gracious and accommodating host! Our friends had a great time! Thank you

Our server, Alfie is simply the best!!! He's level of service impeccable. You can tell he strives to make the guest experience the best possible. The food is fantastic. We always share our lunches, today the Crab Louis. We started with fresh oysters and split a glass of Alburino that went beautifully. My husband and I would go back in a heartbeat. Can't wait for our next visit to the valley. Don't miss this gem of spot for lunch next time in St Helena/Nala. It worth it ❤️

Market is one of our go to restaurants for special occasions. The staff is remarkable and friends, especially the host. We appreciate the service and the vibrance of the atmosphere. We had the beef ribs, yes, they do fall off the bone. And the soup and the green salad with crab. We enjoyed all our food, although the crab could have been fresher. The portions were perfect and pricey but worth it. We found Saturday night to be nosier than we remember. Our only complaint was our cute corner table for two (which we love) has a pedestal that did not allow us to relax our legs. We felt cramped through the meal—avoid the table and you'll have a great time.
