This is my 2nd time eating here and I remembered why I don't come more often. The chowder was cold, bland and overly thick from too much flour. The salad dressing's too much horseradish made Louie salad hard to enjoy. To top things off the waitress was rude, not a single smile or word out of her. She was an older asian woman, maybe the owners wife? Maybe she didn't feel well, or is just unhappy but why take it out on the patrons?

Fresh and tasty! I told the staff we were going to eat much later that evening and they accommodated a partial cook of the fish which worked out perfectly.

Horrible clam chowder salty and over priced. $8.17 for a small that was inedible.

Excellent seafood market and restaurant . Family owned and operated. Best fish and chips in Salinas. Great grilled options too. Clam Chowder is phenomenal!

They do not open til 10:30 now. Got there before they opened. Door was open and the place smelled bad. Lost my appetite. Did not wait
I wasn't that hungry but my friend and I needed a place to sit and chat. She got a side salad with blue cheese dressing and the steamed clam appetizer. Her salad was dinner plate sized and came with chunky housemade dressing. She probably has about 15 clams in a beautiful looking broth. It didn't come with bread so definitely order some to sop up the juices! I got a cup of clam chowder and a shrimp cocktail. I thought the chowder was excellent; not so thick, nice chunks of potato, large pieces of clam, smoky with bacon flavor. I would have added thyme, but it didn't need it. The shrimp cocktail was pricey for frozen shrimp, but the shrimp were juicy, not watery, and there was at least a cup of plump, cocktail shrimp. The cocktail sauce was awesome with lots of horseradish. Service was excellent and the ambiance is appropriately Ocean oriented. I will definitely be back!

Stopped in for a late lunch looking for oysters and chips: out of oysters. Had a cup of passable clam chowder and crab cakes and chips. Don't order those. I don't know what those three little hockey puck looking things were, but they didn't taste like crab (or much of anything, really). The only redeeming thing was that the service was prompt and attentive. The Eden Valley Chardonnay they served by the glass had gone over the hill. They don't know wine to serve something like that. You need to be really hungry to eat here.

Great local fish market/restaurant. We had blackened ahi over a Caesar salad and crab Louie. Both salads had a generous portion of seafood and were very well seasoned. My blackened ahi had a nice savory combination of seasonings seared to the fish which was cooked medium rare and laid on top of a deliciously seasoned Caesar salad. My friend had the crab Louie which was another tasty salad. I liked the generous amount of crab however I was more than satisfied with my dish. At tue end of the day, I'm returning and suggesting this place to friends and family.
I get good fresh fish here at a good pricr
