I don't understand how this place has as many stars as it does I order 4 items over the phone and asked everything to be spicy please I go to pick up food and the lady tells me it's 70$!!! 70$ for four basic items is outrageous in my opinion the lady gives me the bag and has four small plastic boxes we get home to find them only half filled with food and nothing is spicy the food at Panda Express tastes better if I were you I would definitely stay away from this place! I will never be back I would give zero stars if I could

The owner has double faces. When she heard the call came from a Chinese lady to order food take to go, She kept telling me that she couldn't give the appetizer when the Oder over $50 by phone call, which was promised on the website. I called twice, she told me she didn't have time to prepare that appetizer. Based on my order was over $80, I asked one friend to call her. The owner just gave my friend the appetizer for that order without any difficulty... It is not about the appetizer but about the total different attitudes towards Chinese client and American client from the owner....

The restaurant just opened and the place wasn't completely full but I guess the folks at YouTube, table of 50 (just exaggerating), hogged all the wait staff attention that we never got even a nod. After waiting forever and seated in the area of the land of the lost m, we looked at each other and decided for in-n-out. Too bad...I guess now I remember why I never remember this place. Dare I give this establishment another try the second they open and I'm not bombarded with YouTubers??

Pleasant experience! Decent food with friendly service. We ordered Spicy Beef Combo, Steamed Whole Tilapia with Mixed Hunan Style Chilis and smoked bamboo with smoked pork. My favorite was the smoked bamboo and smoked pork. They make their own smoked pork, it was so good and you can taste the scents from the wood. The spicy beef combo is authentic. The whole fish is good but not as amazing as the other two dishes, it’s a little bit lack of flavor.

Warning!!! Don't go here. They have the worst service I've ever experienced. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and seems clean. However, the server started off by taking my order of one entree and said there is a $20 minimum, when my entree was $15.99. She then said I have to pay for rice with my Kung Pao Tofu which every Chinese restaurant has that as an automatic item with your entree. I double asked if it came with rice and she walked away and turned around and said that I have to pay cash for my food and it's a $20 minimum again. Very disappointed with this server and the restaurant.

Very friendly and accommodating service. Excellent tasting food with generous portions and an extensive menu. Many braised/sauced options with medium spiciness probably good for most. Spiciness can be adjusted high or low depending on the diner's request. We had a great meal at the Joy of Hunan and would definitely go again.Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is available to all ages. I did not see any children's menus but dishes can be made mild. Not for picky eaters.Parking: Located in a shopping mall with ample parking.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the ground floor. The sidewalks have ADA ramps and the restaurant has wide doors for access.

Not willing to split one bill on 2 credit cards. Never seen something like this in a legit restaurant. Greediness will not pay back. I could have tipped more to 'compensate' for their loss on credit card fees whatsoever, but who wants to tip generously to a shady business like this?

Tasty Hunan restaurant. Chicken Wings with Explosive Chili Peppers is my favorite dish.

I found little Joy at this restaurant. Despite the food being tasty and the Hot & Sour soup being excellent, I can't get past having to watch for bones as I eat my meal. Had the sweet & sour pork and the salt & pepper pork, both had bones in almost every piece of meat. Now I expect bones sometimes with fish, but pork? Who's butchering the meat? The prices are also steep so what you are left paying for is mostly bone and cartilage with some sparse morsels of meat throughout. It's just not worth it! Hon Lin was the best Chinese food restaurant in Sam Bruno and it is gone. If you want excellent Chinese food and don't mind going one town over to SSF, try Ng's Cooking at Westburough Center.

This place is such a sleeper.. besides well executed fiery hunan dishes featuring house made smoked pork, Joy of Hunan turns out fresh and renditions of classic american influenced dishes, like orange and Kung Pao chicken, or honey walnut prawns. Good Cali wine is also available, and the interior, though spare, is tastefully decorated and clean. Not your average chinese takeout place.

Nice restaurant to stop by near the airport and grab some Hunan Chinese food. Got the stir fried Chinese bacon, and braised pork belly and pickled vegetables and bun, rice cake with shredded pork and vegetables, stir fry water spinach with garlic, and sweet sour tofu with eggplant. The flavors were delicious. Service was good and fast.

Very slow service and very good dishes. Only two other customers. Took a while for menu, then water, teas finally came with dish. Orange fish very good. Menu may be too large. Layout of seating seems awkward. . Located in a shopping mall.

Some of the best Chinese food I've had on the Peninsula. Their squid and pork entree is spicy and delicious and the Mongolian beef is also nice and flavorful. Major bonus - I don't get the weird mouth feel I get when I have Chinese food with a lot of MSG in it.
