What a great place! Charming, friendly staff, interesting beer, very good food, lovely atmosphere.Feels weirdly a bit like the French House in London in spirit, which couldn't be higher praise.

I really don’t get the bad reviews… I’ve been coming here almost every week for almost a year now… it’s always a great time, any food that I have tried has always been fresh, hot and tasty. The beer selection is immense and delicious (get the bad apple cider… it’s the bees knees). I feel like anyone that had a bad experience… was a Karen ? or privileged. The owner is the best, super kind and has a great sense of humor. The other girl that gets behind the bar is also super nice and attentive. The bar is always clean and the regulars are also nice and welcoming. It’s almost like your family bar. I’ve had nothing but good vibes and energy ANY time I come. Try the fries, wings, tenders, burgers and the brisket… it’s all good… you won’t regret coming here

I stop in for lunch, and the place was a ghost town. I was met by the owner with the nastiest attitude after asking a few questions regarding the size of their wings. Nevermind I'm GOOD!

10/10 beer selection but 1/10 customer service. If you enjoy lifeless staff look no further. I felt like a human doormat while checking out with my beer. I was greeted, or lack thereof, with absolutely no human interaction. I would much rather a self checkout system to avoid the condescending nature of the staff who works here. I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but this is the fourth or fifth time that I’ve been greeted with the same experience. Such a cool environment to offer with such a disappointing experience every time.

Big variety of beers. Service was not good at the limits of rude and boring and everything was overpriced with no reason.

Best chili in San Diego. Yes, best chili. Solid tv selection, nice people. Good spot.

Ale Tales Taproom & kitchen is located in East Village in the same building facility as Shift Apartments, serving the community Gastropub style food and high-quality beers on tap and many various different style canned alcoholic beverages. The interior and design inside this fine establishment has high ceilings and is very spacious inside with a bar and plenty of tables and chairs to sit at. They offer weekly specials throughout the week, such as happy hour on Mondays in which all draft beers are $1 off, and they have Padre pints for $5 every time the Padres plays and that beer is the lovely Stone Buenaveza salt and lime Mexican lager. There is also a run club they host every Wednesday at 6 pm and every 1st and 3rd Saturdays at 9 am. As for the food, they have many options to choose from and also have a mean veggie burrito and your classic burgers and even fried cheese! They host Thursday night dinner, which consists of a 5 course meal and must be RSVP. This place is also very dog friendly where you can bring your furry friend and have a picture taken of them and placed inside the restaurant.Overall, this is the spot to go to for awesome food, great drinks, and to catch a midweek run or weekend run. They also offer a yearly membership with exclusive perks, such as 50% off drinks on Wednesdays! The customer service is second to none and is always served with a smile. Check this place out, and I know you will be blown away from the food quality and extensive drink options they have to offer.

Went in with some friends and the woman working was so disrespectful and condescending. It seemed like she may have been the owner but her attitude and treatment of people was so off putting. Will not return or support this business
