Excellent Taiwanese food! Staff are very friendly and service is top notch. Food has been better in the past, but it's still delicious. Sticky rice needed a bit of salt. XLB is always a treat. Everything is well thought out and carefully produced - from the food to the service to the decor.Parking: Parking is for the first two hours, then $3/hr

I have been to the Seattle and Irvine locations, and now I am adding the La Jolla to my belt. This food is absolutely amazing. You will thank me if you read this and decide to try it out.We ordered the cucumber salad, the pork dumplings, and the spicy won tons. It's the flavor profiles that pull you into making this a "must go to" destination! When you leave, you feel completely satisfied, and we'll fed!The cucumber salad is refreshing and a great way to start your palette on a creative journey. It's simple yet satisfying. The baby cucumber slices are served up in a sesame based sauce. We couldn't make out what the other flavors were, but it was definitely a strong sesame oil profile. Whatever it's mixed with is divine, though. The pork soup dumplings are a punch of pure flavor. You bite into the soft, steamed dumpling, and immediately, a rush of savory broth fills your mouth. You continue your journey with a tender meat filling, which is the perfect bite. Dip it into your mixture of side sauce that combines ginger, soy, rice vinegar, and chili oil. It definitely gives your mouth an experience with so many flavors infused to delight your taste buds. The spicy wonton are so addictive. Small pillows of savory and tender meat filled wontons swim in a spicy red broth that has a combination of sweet, savory, sour, and spicy all combined. It's hard to describe, but so addictive that I would have been content with a glass of the broth to drink straight up!!The wait staff was great, kind, attentive, and helpful. Great attitudes, and they made you feel welcomed. This place is an absolute must if you are in the area and have never tried!

Consistently good food and service. Most DTFs are located in or near a shopping center. If you plan it right, the typical 45-60 minute wait is tolerable. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!

Food is always excellent here. 9 times out of 10 the wait is pretty long, so make reservations. It’s in a nice mall though, so you can walk around while you wait. Once they text you, you have 15 min to get back. ALWAYS get the chocolate mochi XLB and don’t forget the side of salted cream to dip it in!

2 hours wait for a table on a Thursday ! Ridiculous for a mall restaurant with more than average food and a loud environment. Only going downhill since it opened. Not worth the wait, not worth the money.

Came here for the first time yesterday for lunch, and it definitely did not disappoint. I love the open layout of the restaurant, the employees and server were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food options were plentiful and everything we ordered was delicious. Highlights of my meal were the string beans which were cooked to PERFECTION, the wok fried noodles with veggies, and the chocolate dumplings for dessert. I also really enjoyed their regular milk tea. This place was delicious and I will definitely be visiting again!

It was our first time dining at Din Tai Fung in UTC. We arrived around 5 PM without a reservation and waited 3 to 5 minutes until we got seated. According to our server, we were very lucky due to normal wait times typically being an hour to two hours. We ordered drinks and cocktails, The food was absolutely amazing. Have zero complaints. Our waiter was Lawrence , He provided excellent service and Walked us through the menu and shared recommendations. Although it was a full house and all the staff were visibly busy Lawrence was very attentive and overall took great care of us. We will definitely be coming back to try more items.
