“We LOVE Ethiopian food. Healthy, delicious and fun. We’ve eaten at many Ethiopian restaurants in different cities. Although it’s a shame that SD doesn’t have more Ethiopian food, Lucy is worth the drive from Carlsbad. Injera is great and food is aromatic and well cooked. Highly recommend.“
“My wife and I went to the coffee ceremony on Saturday morning-it was absolutely wonderful. Perfect mix of learning the Ethiopian coffee culture, meeting new friends and delicious java. In addition to 3 rounds of super smooth coffee from freshly roasted beans (like roasted right in front of you fresh!) they provide homemade bread and popcorn. Our hosts were so engaging and friendly that the 90 or so minutes we were there flew by. They’ve created a wonderfully inviting space for the weekly event. On-line sign-up was a breeze. Can’t wait to take a group of friends there for lunch soon.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps at front back doors. Tables are well spaced.“
“Great little shop, has everything you need, hidden gem of a place.they had the best food in the neighbourhood Just felt their lack of online presence. I want a nice website so that I can book a table and view the place while sitting on my couch P.S. I can help you with this.“
“Love this place and the flavor, best Ethiopian Food in San Diego County. Order black injera for gluten free people so you can get 100% teff injera. I have been going here for years and every time I bring friends everyone is so pleased. Grateful for this gem! Their store is amazing as well! You can buy injera and other herbs/spices as well! Cant wait to go here again!“
“I wanted to try Ethiopian cuisine in SD, and I was so lucky to have come across Addis Restaurant after Yelp searching! With beautiful traditional East African interior and fixtures, I was mesmerized as soon as I stepped in. The staff were all so kind to us, and the prices were super affordable too! Ended up ordering the Awaze Tibs; it was a colorful dish with injera (delicious Ethiopian spongy flatbread), juicy seasoned beef and various sides of veggies. The flavors were so rich, deep and meshed together perfectly. I cannot WAIT to come back and try other dishes, I highly recommend it to all locals and tourists alike!“
“Had an INCREDIBLE experience at Muzita. Came for a girls night dinner and none of us had tried Eritrean/Ethiopian food before, so we asked our server to surprise us and I’m not kidding that every single thing we ate was phenomenal! We sat outside and the ambiance was so homey and cozy, with fresh air as the sun was setting and a super warm heat lamp when it got chilly. Can’t wait to go back! “I have never eaten Ethiopian food before and it was suggested to me by a parking attendant at the San Diego airport. I must say it was pretty good I got the combination plate which came with regular beef, spicy beef and spicy chicken with salad and bread (I forgot the name of what it’s actually called). This hospitality was amazing and welcoming. I certainly enjoyed the food and it was really different for me. The spicy beef didn’t have enough beef which is why it got a 4 star rating because it was just 1-2 pcs and the rest was gravy. The regular beef had plenty so that was awesome and it was only 1 pc of chicken and didn’t seem to have much flavor. The salad was perfect and I noticed because of all the gravy the bread got soggy quickly. I would certainly suggest giving it a try. Check out my Instagram for more food reviews in different areas.
