I went and dined at fogo de chao a few months back. The service was ok. I didn't like the fact that the ribeye option always seemed to be in short supply. But I was fine with overlooking it because I understand that it's a hot ticket item. After asking our server 4 times for it we were finally able to have ribeye. The problem I have is when it came time to pay my colleague and I both put our credit cards in the check presenter and only one of our cards came back. We alerted our server right away and she quickly retraced her steps but couldn't find it. She got the manager Humberto involved but they couldn't seem to locate it. She asked us multiple times if we had it which we clearly did not. We ended up leaving with (1) $75 gift card and 0 modifications to the authorization for the lost card. Having worked in the restaurant industry (casual and fine dining) for 10 years I know loosing a guests credit card makes your heart drop. We were still gracious as like I said I come from the industry. We ended up leaving without the credit card, as the server couldn't find it. Humberto said for me to call him when I'm ready to come in with my $75 gift card. I told him I was not going to be able to come back for a few months. Sure enough next day there were fraudulent purchases on my cc. Smh...Fast forward to today I called and spoke with the host that I won't mention the name of as I don't want to get her in trouble but I communicated why I was calling and she put me on hold for legit 24 minutes. I hung up and called back and she said for me to call tomorrow and if I'm lucky I might get a chance to talk to him. The gift card or "holiday card" that he gave me I guess expires which is interesting. Either way I can't imagine the way my issue was handled is their SOP for recovery opportunities. Have been going in to fogo for years but I most likely won't return as this experience has been far from hospitality.

I don’t get why so many good reviews! Employees all look mad, like they rudely and unwillingly are doing a favor for customers. Pretty bad Brazilian churrascaria. Food is good but it is pricey and the atmosphere and mood are just terrible, from managers to host people.I saw they mistreating delivery drivers picking up food a couple of times just while waiting for a table

Update: Fogo replied back to my review (below) I decided to email them as they requested. I sent two emails so far and not one response back. It’s been 4 days LOL. I’m pretty sure they just want to appear to look good online, but they actually do not care “to make things right.” I’ve already stopped a few friends of mine from wasting their money there and will continue to do so.I am extremely disappointed in my visit last night (4/20/24) to Fogo! We came for my husband’s birthday. I made this reservation back in January. I mentioned it was his birthday when I made the reservation, the hostess even mentioned about his birthday when she seated us. After we were seated a man I’m assuming a server explained the all you can eat meats menu, then offered us drinks, Brazilian cocktails. My husband said he would like to have the cocktails and the server said okay. He poured our water and he walked off and he never came back to the table ever again, literally no one did, except the ppl who serve the meats..We had no service at all, not even a water refil. We had to flag down someone for the check, wasn’t able to order anything off the menu because nobody ever took our order.. Also all these people around us are celebrating their birthdays and getting slices of cake brought to them, but nope not us, it was really sad..We were treated like absolute trash! I’m so mad writing this. I know they were busy, but that is no excuse. Literally someone could’ve came back to our table at least to bring the drink my husband ordered!!! The worst birthday dinner experience we’ve ever had! The food was decent, but the awful service killed it for us though. Also for some reason all the tables next to us had attentive servers except for our table of 2, literally we were forgotten about. What kind of server offers you a cocktail and then doesn’t even come back again to bring it? He could’ve handed our table off to someone else if he was leaving or to busy. I was a server for over 7 years, never in my time of serving did I ever do that to a table. I asked for help if I needed it.Needless to say I will never come back here ever again. I will also let all my family and friends know how bad this place SUCKS! I will be complaining directly to Fogo as well, and no I do not want any discounts for next time, they could offer us free Fogo and I would say no. I will never go back. This was the San Diego location. Sad because so many places to eat around here and we chose the worst place. Thank you Fogo for ruining my husbands birthday dinner!

This was my first Brazilian card meal. I was floored at the quality of the meats, the diversity of the salad bar and the incredible fresh soups. Just like the description says....yes it is pricey, but I would not haven't traded it for the world!Excellente.

The restaurant is a nice experience, not sure if I find it work for the price. There could more items in the salad bar especially for those who don't like to consume meat(red)

We had our wedding brunch here on April 13th and we cannot thank the entire staff enough-- Andrea, Monica, Jessie, and Mariana were all wonderful and made our day so easy. I realize some of our guests arrived a little early but I appreciate the staff still allowing people to sit and chat a bit before our actual brunch started.Mariana was so sweet and easy to talk to, and incredibly helpful. She made sure everything was set up the way we wanted it to be. She also allowed us to enjoy a meal before our actual event which was so nice! We also appreciate the IT staff helping us play our own music! All of the wait staff made sure everyone was taken care of, with drinks and food and desserts, and even helped us take some photos. They were all completely on top of it and we appreciate it immensely. The gauchos that helped out were also incredible. We know how much work it is to serve in a setting like this with a bunch of people and they killed it. Especially with little kids. The food was so good, and everything was nice and fresh when it came to delivering to our little private dining area. The honeyed cheese was one of my favorites. Plus the drinks were also great. Thank you so much to everyone at Fogo for making our wedding day so enjoyable and easy!

It's gone downhill.. paying almost 70 dollars for no service and barely anyone walking around with meat and a salad bar that wasnt consistently filled is ridiculous! The place wasn't even at capacity for this to happen.

food was solid but the restaurant format has waiters constantly moving about with the meat. Also people get up to go to the sald bar. The challenge is they have so many tables so close it is a dance to move around. It was not a relaxing and comfortable meal.

Save your money and go some place worth the price. I had a party of 7 and I knew the price. I was optimistic because I read so many mixed reviews. I've only been to 1 other Brazilian steakhouse. It was in LA about 15yrs ago. It was so good that I figured the price would be worth it. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed. The salad bar was so disappointing. The options weren't the greatest and didn't taste that great. Lots of items run out and not replaced regularly. I would wait and then return, eventually having to ask. The meats served directly were good but not enough. They stopped serving us for some reason when my son wanted to order his dessert. This evening we had about 8 different meats in rotation. The desserts were not that great either. When you spend so much, you want good quality. The staff was wonderful but I have to say, so many of them dropped their slices everywhere. It would fall on the table, and even once directly into my daughter's lap and on her seat. We asked several times for well done for the kids but they took so long without returning. Finally once they did. Even one server spilled wax and butter all over himself and the floor at our table next to our feet. Poor dude. Plus the seating arrangement is too squished up to the other tables. It was just so chaotic with so much staff running around. They would leave our table before asking everyone if they wanted any of what they served. At least 3 occasions where someone from my party said "yes" or tried to ask for some but they left so quickly. Looks like they were all in such a hurry. This gave me so much anxiety. it was horrible and not a great experience. I'll never go back. So disappointed. This was the first time we spent so much on a dinner for my family. It's my husband's birthday and I wanted it to be special.I'll try some others here in SD one day.

On April 12, the soup of the day was tomato mozzarella. Very tasty.Wonderful market table, non-stop meat cooked to your liking, great service! Who could need anything more? This time we were served a traditional Brazilian pineapple treat. Very tasty. Give it a tryThis was a disappointing visit. The meat was unusually fatty and flavorless. The staff were wonderful.9/15/23 arrived close to noon. No reservations were needed. We were seated immediately. The market table was as good as usual. Lentil was the soup of the day. The cheesy bread was just as good as it always is. With one exception the staff was terrific.
