Great happy hour. Drinks were great and food was delicious. Old fashioned, burger. Chicken bites were great. Most items were less than $10. Will definitely be back.

Ordered the shepherd’s pie. What a mistake. They served me warmed up leftovers, flipped over, and smothered in canned gravy. THE WORST! Really, Chef, really? We are local and regular customers, but not anymore.

Absolutely love this place the bartenders are great the service is always phenomenal and the fact that they have a variety of music played by live bands it's just a bonus can't find a better atmosphere in La Jolla than Henessey's. The Thursday night $6 smash burger is the best deal in the county of San Diego highly recommended.Vegetarian options: They do any burger but with a beyond burger Patty.Wheelchair accessibility: It is on the 1st floor and is wheelchair accessible.

So disgusted with tonight's Shepherds Pie. Basically, I was served last night's dinner, flipped upside down and then smothered in canned gravy. WTH? Come on Chef. Did you think I wouldn't notice? Does not deserve a star at all.

While I wouldn't give my calamari 5 stars, I would give our server 10! The place is so cute, more affordable than other eateries in the area, and the gal serving us was literally above and beyond in kindness, attentiveness, patient, professional! No where else that we ate on vacation had as good of service.

Came here on a busy Sunday afternoon to celebrate St. Patrick's day. Unfortunately, we didn't get a seat in the patio as it was first come and first served or so I thought until the people behind us kept getting seats before us, which sort of pissed me off. They also had the fireplace turned on at 5 in the afternoon which made the room unbearably hot even with the windows open (that I had to ask on my behalf). Although the server came right away after we sat down, we weren't given a drink menu and she seemed annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted (ma'am you need to give us a drink menu if you want us to order a drink other than a Guinness). Plus, she also asked what we want less than a minute after we sat down. Great for impatient people but not good for us indecisive folks! Like another review said, the servers can feel unwelcoming at times but by a few drinks, I would say I would come back (the food was great!) but only if I get a patio seat. It was way too hot to be sitting indoors with the fireplace turned on and lots of guests inside especially if you're here in the afternoon (It was like they didn't want the indoor guests to stay too long. Just order, drink/eat and leave) Parking: Street parking Price: $$ Service: Was a hit and miss. Sometimes, they were friendly and sometimes they felt rushed but I think it was mostly due to the holiday weekend... Recommendation: Irish pub nachos & burgers. Skip the fries. Try to get an outdoor patio seat in the day. They have the fireplace indoors and it can get pretty toasty on sunny afternoons.

Very good burgers and sandwiches. Service is top-notch. If you like Irish themed pubs, give Hennessey's a try. Happy Hour prices (4-7PM) includes hors d'oeuvre, wine, and beer specials.

Amazing food and amazing service! Family friendly. Traditional Irish food with some alternative options. Kids menu offered. Craft beers on draft. Specialty drink menu. Sabrina was an amazing server! We came in on a Saturday evening and were seated right away.

I was hosting an event at The Lodge and needed a venue for a casual Super Bowl Party with traditional Super Bowl foods (which is hard to come by in La Jolla) and stumbled upon Hennessey's. Dan was great to work with and very responsive - which is appreciated as I was planning this event from the East Coast! Our group utilized the dining room and had a great time, food, and drinks. I cannot thank Dan and his team enough for making it such a memorable and fun afternoon.

Food was so good. Service was awesome & loved the vibe! Will definitely be back! I love that there are so many different areas for seating and that the drink menu is so diverse.

We are only in La Jolla for a week but we came here a couple of times because it has a really nice atmosphere. The servers are really pleasant and the Hazy IPA is a good beer. There was live music too. If we were here for longer we would have come back but it’s a long way from England!
