My friend and I picked up sandwiches to go before one of the sporting events. I ordered the Menage A Trois (Halal Chicken, BBQ, Honey Mustard, Real Honey, Swiss, Pepper Jack, Cheddar). My friend and I split onion rings and mozzarella sticks. They only gave 4 mozz sticks and they were like half baked, not crispy at all or gooey. The onion rings and ranch were good but the sandwich was bomb af. The sandwich was really nice as well.
The sandwiches are delicious every single time and they have plenty of creative vegan options. The service is always fast and quality. Can't ask for a better sandwich shop

No doubt, Ike's is a top-tier sandwich spot in San Diego. I've been to very few places that have the creativity AND quality of Ike's. The tribute to local SD legends in the sandwich names and the out-of-the-box thinking on ingredients in certain sandwiches is more than clever. The service was very friendly and quick getting us our food. I loved that they ran through every option of add ons for each person, so there was no questioning exactly what came on it. The vibe is exactly what you would expect from a spot in Hillcrest, trendy, hip and relaxed. I got the Junior Seau which is a roast beef, turkey, Seau sauce (some sort of hot buffalo), and Swiss cheese. It was fantastic. I don't typically put buffalo on roast beef sandwiches, but it was so good and added a ton of flavor and kick. The dutch crunch bread was so good, as expected. Not going to lie, I had high hopes for the lemonade as they had a whole "Craft Lemonade" section on their menu, and it wasn't very good. Ike's is a must go to spot. 10/10 highly recommend.

I’m giving this 3 stars without tasting the food and not because of bad service, but as a way to alert future halal seeking customers that this place does not serve authentic halal food. I was a bit disappointed to learn that although they have halal chicken they also serve it alongside pork products. So the level of cleanliness can not be established. Also the pork is served with the halal chicken in some of their subs which really begs the question, who is this for?! No Muslim is looking for halal chicken with bacon or halal chicken that serves pork from the same work station. I just don’t get why you would advertise halal options when it meets none of the requirements to be considered halal. Very misleading.

45 minutes to make a sandwich? Come on. Also, hearing the girl behind the counter tell a customer “I’m off so someone else can get you some water” while taking her order is textbook horrible customer service. Sandwiches are amazing but staff needs to be retrained.
All I remember of Ike's is that I will be there to try all their sandwiches. Very tasty. They are all named after famous people. I believe I will get the Steve Jobs sandwich. Vegan and gluten free! Plus Very reasonable prices for the quality you get. Peace-Walt.Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair friendly though being such a small shop it's easy to see why. They will go out of their way for you to feel at home.

Ikes sandwiches were delivered to a group at Point Loma Presbyterian. Best sandwich I’ve had in San Diego in 40 years! Made perfectly with fresh ingredients and best of all the bun/ bread was delicious. Not gummy or hard, just perfect! My new go to spot for delivery as well!

I ordered gluten bread for my sandwich due to my celiac disease. After ordering the meatball sandwich, I double checked, and they told me the contents have breadcrumbs. So I asked to have a different sandwich because I can't eat that one lol. And then they told me they "already made it" and when I explained that I can't eat gluten due to a severe allergy they said "well if we make you another sandwich, we'll lose money". Weird.

Today was my third time picking up a to go order from this establishment and I must say they are unfortunately very consistent when it comes to not meeting baseline expectations. The first time my order took an extra 20 min to prepare. The second time I was given the wrong order. This evening I placed an order via their website at 6:43pm and it said it would be ready at 7:13pm. I arrive and told the person behind the counter my name. She said she would bring it out when it was ready. Time passes it’s now been 50 minutes since I placed my order. I check in show them my confirmation and they don’t have my food and don’t know what happened. They tell me to wait a few minutes. Couple minutes later and turns out my food was given to someone else. They made me a new sandwich and I finally left with my order at 7:43 pm. I’m incredibly disappointed with the customer service. I can understand a mistake, I’ve made plenty, however there wasn’t even an apology. There was no acknowledgment of error or waste of my time and zero attempt to make it right. The food is good I’ll give them that but it’s certainly not worth inconsistent service.

The large woman at the counter that took my order was so incredibly unhappy start to finish. And there was just black dirt caked packed!! Under her fingernails I was like “oh WOAH” aside from her rude so rude attitude it was just gross. Seriously concerned about the health issue of this place. Yuck… come on let’s do better.

Ok. So I just inhaled half of the sandwich I got from here. I was STARVING, have zero food in my place, and my electric bike was just stolen so I went on Uber Eats. OMG this place has the BEST sandwiches EVER. I had the Terrell Davis on French bread. Had them add Godfather Sauce. I ordered one sandwich. When I picked up the bag after it was delivered I kid you not it felt like I had ordered like 5 burritos. You know how burritos feel inside of a bag? This felt like that, it didn't feel like a sandwich. Hope that makes sense. Of course it was a sandwich though and when I opened the bag there were plenty of napkins-thank you- and a very neatly wrapped sandwich. It was filled with the PERFECT amount of everything. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the tomatoes were ripe but not too ripe. THE BREAD....AHHHHH THE BREAD! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS and toasted just right. I am 51 years old and LOVE a good sandwich! BY FAR THIS IS THE BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! So much so I felt compelled to write this review and I don't think I have ever taken the time to write a review about anything else I have ever eaten. I ate half the sandwich and I am full. Can't wait until my stomach has room for the other half!! DEFINITELY worth the calories and the price. If you are looking for the BEST SANDWICH EVER you HAVE to try this place. I promise you will LOVE it. I sure did!!! Thank you Ike's!!! Oh and I forgot to add that they threw in a caramel apple lollipop too!!! Such a nice treat. You MUST try this place.
