I've been here a couple of times. The carne asada tacos cost $5.99, are huge, made with double corn tortilla, guacamole and pico de gallo, didn't find them tasty, also tried it with the available red and green salsas, but it didn't help. The milanesa torta was good, and tasted better with the salsas. The horchata water was good/ok. The cashier/server is nice and adequate. Place does not look appealing either inside or out. Lucy’s Taco Shop is located downtown on C Street a couple of blocks away from the San Diego Superior Court so it’s a perfect spot if you have jury duty. It’s a colorfully decorated business with a typical Mexican food menu. A lot of people take their food to go. The counter service was friendly and quick. I ordered a Carne Asada Quesadilla which, while not the best I’ve had in San Diego, was pretty good. It’s a solid choice if you are in the area for any reason....read full review

The food here was delicious! We had tried a couple other local breakfast spots in this area and wanted to try something different. So glad we stopped in! The machaco breakfast burrito and the chorizo breakfast burrito were delicious! The salsas really enhanced these authentic flavors. Definitely a hole in the wall to check out!
