This place has great ambience for meeting up with friends and family. Normally I look forward to gobble up the cheese & hot cheese sauce , but somehow the sauce is not as nice as before. Overall the food was okay.

First time in the area, and I was looking for a late lunch and beer spot. Was planning on Karl Strauss, but thought I’d give Miguel’s a try as I was really in the mood for carnitas. So glad I did. First, they provide you free warm chips, salsa, and queso. All very tasty, especially the house salsa which you can buy by the pint (ask me how I know, lol). They have a large beer on tap selection, including multiple offerings from Karl Strauss and Ketch Brewing. I ordered the carnitas plate which arrived quickly in a generous portion. Served with hot flour tortillas, avocado slices, onions and cilantro, and incredible pico de gallo, the dish was everything. Tender, juicy, flavorful pork roasted to perfection. Complimenting the delicious food, Miguel’s staff were attentive and friendly. I will definitely return when I’m in the area again; their fajitas plates are my next target!

Generally I have had nothing but the best time. the Chicken that was served was more like rubber than meat. I was not able to finish it , but the rest of the food on the plate was delicious.

Miguel's at 4S Commons has great food, good ambiance and pretty good service. Go here for the food but be warned that it takes a while to get your food. The chips, cheese and salsa will hold you over for a while. What to order: the Molcajete is the best kept secret at Miguel's. It comes with carne asada, chicken, carnitas and shrimp with fajitas vegetables mixed in the molcajete. It is served with guacamole, rice, beans, chili, and pico de gallo. It's served in a lava rock bowl which melts the cheese all over the meat and veggies. The Molcajete for two is large enough for the whole table!. Great value at $30. Fajitas are great too. We'll be back 2.2.24 Been back to Miguels a few times since my first review. This is still one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants in San Diego. Molcajete is still our go to and we recommend adding Carnitas.

One person died and several hospitalized for weeks due to ecoli at this place so be careful. People are different dishes which means there was poor contamination control in the kitchen. Food is average and cost is high. I would avoid this place.

Vegetable enchilad was not up to the mark. It should have been more tasteful.

I did not like the food. I will not return. I can't recommend this restaurant. I only went one time. Maybe I just picked a bad night.

I don't like how dim the lighting was at certain tables when it wasn't even dark outside. The lamps over the tables were hung way too high making it feel like the ceiling is so bright but then you can't read your menu. Also the music was way too loud. There weren't many people there but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other or our server.Kid-friendliness: Very loud, so it doesn't matter if you bring your kids. Also, there's a kids menu.
