Had brunch...the short rib hash was outstanding...flavorful and large portions. Disappointed that they had already run out of the banana bread, and it was only 12 Noon on a Sunday.

Half empty restaurant but "no room for two". They had a woman eating at the bar with a medium sized dog in her lap which is 100% against health code (we promptly emailed the SD Heath department). The hostess was completely unhelpful....walked around for 5 minutes, meanwhile the spot at the bar she was offering us was taken by two others behind us. No self awareness or urgency whatsoever. It was 5pm and they weren't prepared for service. Went over to Nick's and they were helpful and professional from the moment we walked in.

Our server was great I had the steak, which I ordered medium rare and it came out medium well. My husband had the short ribs, he liked it a lot. The pizza was very good. The place is pretty loud, but we were there at 5:30 pm and there were families with small kids , which I think made it louder!

Table was ready even though we arrived 10 mins early. Food and drinks were great. Scored service lower as two meals came out then 5 mins later the 3rd but had to wait another 5 mins for the 4th.

Lunch at North Italia was very good. The food was excellent and the service too. Only feedback is to incorporate more vegetarian dishes into the menu. They were more than accommodating however to make customized vegetarian dishes for us. Lunch time can be busy, so it can time for the food to come .

Good minestrone soup, not overly salty. Fish was ok, the sweet onion was nice but I think half was enough.Service was good. We were having a late meal so the servers were absolutely on it with clearing plates away.Lots of groups, nice energy, I’m sure lunch outdoors would also be lovely.

We ate here twice during our stay in Del Mar and had wonderful meals each time. The calamari was great. We also had Chicken Parm, Simple Salad, and the bolognese. All were wonderful. The staff was very friendly and fast.

We have been to this location many times and seldom had a negative experience, but this day it was off. Sat right away/on time, server greeted us quickly. Took our drink order and all going well. After the food order was taken, things went downhill from there. After watching many around us have their food delivered, the manager eventually came over, apologized for the delay, and offered us some bread to enjoy since the food was delayed. Eventually the food came out with mixed reviews. A salad and chicken pesto were spot on; the carbonara and pizza were below par. Not our finest moment at North, but poor moments happen.

Was special occasion and we were treated so well. Skip the garlic cheese bread. Sounded fab on menu but was weak link in dining experience. Bolognese was outstanding, as was spicy sausage pasta dish. Would return heartily.

Our visit to North Italia, nestled in One Paseo, on a Saturday evening at 5 pm left us with mixed impressions. While we had made reservations initially, it seemed unnecessary upon arrival, though the restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived. So, reservations are a good idea. The ambiance had a nice balance between upscale and casual, lending itself to a dining experience that felt both refined and relaxed. Fortunately, parking proved to be a non-issue at One Paseo, adding to the convenience of our evening.A standout aspect of our experience was the commendable customer service. We were promptly greeted and seated, with Sam, our waiter, proving to be both attentive and helpful throughout the evening, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and allowing us to savor our meal. The remainder of the staff mirrored this level of friendliness and efficiency. As for the food, while it was generally enjoyable, there were moments where it fell short of expectations. We started with the Blackened Mediterranean Mussels, a true highlight of the evening. Each mussel was perfectly prepared with a rich flavor profile heightened by the delectable broth. Accompanied by bread, this appetizer could easily stand alone as an entrée.Moving on to our main courses, the Chicken Pesto, with shrimp substituted for chicken, was a triumph of flavors. The dish had a perfect blend of pesto, pine nuts, capers, basil, and shrimp mixed perfectly with the pasta—and a satisfyingly sized portion. Conversely, the Ricotta Cavatelli failed to impress, both in terms of portion size and flavor. Despite its promise of crab and shrimp, the ricotta pasta lacked depth, with the crab barely discernible amid the plainness of the dish. The entree barely filled the bottom of the bowl it was served in.Our dinner concluded on a high note with the indulgent tiramisu cup, which provided a delightful finish to our meal.In summary, while our dining experience at North Italia was pleasant overall, the inconsistency in the execution of dishes, particularly the underwhelming Ricotta Cavatelli, left room for improvement.

This is one of our family's, favorite places to eat. We had the Arancini and the Bolognese. We have loved every dish w have eaten here. The staff is very nice and helpful. The vibe is casual and cozy.

I don't know why, but whenever we've dined here there's always what feels like a long discussion between two of the girls who greet you about which table to sit us at. It takes foreveeeer! And because we have children it makes us feel like that's a problem! There was tonnes of tables free, plus we had a reservation!! Why a ten minute conversation every time to decide???Then there's the temperature. It's freezing!!! The doors are always open and the air con blasting out. My children were freezing. Everyone around us sat with coats on. Not good!
