This review is literally so painful for me to write but what the hell happened to this place? I’ve been a loyal customer for 8+ years and the last few orders i’ve had have been really, really poor. I figured I’d stick with them still and hope it was a rough patch but today my chicken pad thai was somehow burnt. The noodles were insanely gummy and only the top layer of the order was edible. The underneath layers were a deep gray, almost black. Not to mention mylast few orders have been neon orange and they never used to be?I called and I do so appreciate that they refunded me, but as I tried to salvage the top layer I found multiple hairs embedded in the noodles. I’m genuinely depressed. RIP to my go to spot.

Good ambience, good music and good food. We ordered the drunken noodles and wonton soup. It was quite good.

We ordered the duck noodle soup with egg noodle for delivery at 2am. It hit the spot for sure. We ordered through yelp and the delivery person had us come out to meet her at her car on the street, so we weren't a huge fan of that, but the deliver option even half an hour before they closed was greatly appreciated.

Amazing experience and best Thai food in San Diego! We always get the fried rice and drunken noodles. Big portions and great service.

The food, service and atmosphere were great. We came with a large party and had almost every plate the ones that stood out where the salmon spicy soup, the tom kah soup, the papaya salad, the drunken noodles, and the mango sticky rice. Try the ice teas with coconut milk (Thai and green) very tasty.

Basically no service and the food was so poorly executed, we could barely eat it. All plates were left almost full and it wasn’t even questioned.

I'm not sure if the management changed because I loved coming here around 2012-2014 but coming back here last night, it felt like a completely different restaurant. While we got there at night, it was still over an hour and 30 mins before closing. Our server felt rather cold and as if he was rushing us. The food was still okay quality (I got the pad Thai) but not as well as I remembered it. Even as we were figuring how to split the bill, our server kept coming up check whole there were still 20 minutes left until closing. Even as we paid and walked, there were two other parties still in the restaurant not being rushed out. Just incredibly disappointed on the experience. Was excited to return to a restaurant I fondly remember supporting but this won't be the case anymore.

I have been coming for quite a while service is always top notch. Love the mural on the wall it brings a cozy vibe to the inside. The food is my favorite part though, it is so good! Like I have had probably everything on the menu! They are also opened late which is perfect for hillcrest. The only thing that would make me happier is if they stay open 24/7 lol.

Love that this place is open late. My go to dishes here are there drunken noodles and pad se ew. Service is good and pretty fast well. Again this place is open late and is around bars so if you do come on the later side you may come across some drunk people trying to get a late night bite and still keep the partying going. One time we came a little after 12am and people from the bars started to roll in. They sat one party to the left of us then another to the right of us and both parties happen to know each other and their conversation and cheers was all happening with us right in between them lol. Luckily we were about finished. But other than I really do enjoy their food.

I wish there was a way to give a Negative 1 Star Review but that isn't possible. As soon as I walk in it smelled like dirty socks that haven't been changed in weeks (And trust when I say P. F. Changs or Benihana doesn't have that pungent odor). The wait staff seemed flustered and unsure of the full menu, and had a very rude attitude. I would rather go to other place on 4th street any day, I was simply giving this place a shot.

A mixed experience at The Asian Bistro. While the Tom Kha stood out with its exceptional taste, the service left much to be desired. A prolonged wait for the wonton noodle soup, unfulfilled promises of a discount, and a generally lackluster service overshadowed the decent quality of the food. Not sure I would come back given that we got this level of service while only having a few people in.
