I was curious to check out the place now that it's under new ownership since the unexpected passing of the former owner. I didn't expect much from the dive bar but the typically sticky surfaces and questionable bathrooms (which it still had). But then we ordered sliders, a burger with fries and the Caesar salad. And damn those patties were so good, we ordered even more sliders. I later learned that one of the new owners was one of the people behind Hodad's and it all made sense. The Caesar and fries were fine (I wouldn't order again), but the burger was why I'd come back. Also, I saw they have some really cool live music going on and coming up that sound awesome. Overall, I'm glad to see that they kept the OB vibe. I'm looking forward to coming back for more burgers, their live music events, and a game of pool.

Love the Harp, I've always loved the Harp! Another pillar of Newport and I hope it always will be. The doorman is awesome and friendly. The bar tenders are unable to disguise their dislike of serving customers.

A great little Irish Pub that knows how to pour a Guinness. Lots of room, great staff, and a cool little back patio area where you can smoke while enjoying your drink. They also have very good food.

If you find yourself thirsty in OB, consider checking out the Harp, Irish Pub. Classic wooden bar with a very welcoming, warm, and homey atmosphere. Watch the game, meet new friends at the bar, they have a jukebox too. There is plenty of seating indoors for when it's chilly, street facing rail seating for fresh air and people watching and they even have a backyard beer garden. The staff is warm and accommodating. Food is great. Chipotle chicken sandwich is filling and delicious. Comes with plenty of home made ranch. Megan, behind the bar, is quick with a big smile and a cold drink. Treat her well and she'll treat you better! Highly recommend. Slainte!

Really great place on Newport in OB. The beer was cold and Stone local. The place has a great vibe. Staff is friendly and professional and the bar is clean and safe. They have the ability to sit at a table and look out over the best part of Ocean Beach. There is a happening farmers market on Wednesday. Didn't have the food but what i saw of it looked good.

Ocean Beach vibes. i love this section of SoCal. i popped in for a beer and stayed for 2. they had a good selection on tap. the bartenders were awesome as well. i wasn't able to use Google Pay as i wanted, but cards (and cash, of course) will take care of the tab. thanks Harp ✊?

So sad when you read all the other reviews it's all having to do with aggressive and horrible owners amd employees ! They BEAT women AND HAVE NO REGARD FOR THE PATRONS ! I will be contacting the BBB and seems like horror stories are common at this disgraceful bar ! I went out to celebrate st.pattys day for the first time in a long time , and this was my FIRST stop of the night . Walk in and my friend sits at the bar about 15 minutes pass and me and my cousin go to use the restroom by the time we come out it's been about 10-15 minutes and my friend is still waiting I sit at the bar and motion her to move over to where I am at and then say "excuse me " to the bar tender/waitress in my video and she ignores me and goes to the other worker and starts expressing frustration I see her telling the other girl to let it go and ignore us .. but all I did was raise my hand and say excuse me I was just trying to see where we were in their line so we knew how long we'd be waiting ,the shorter waitress/bartender YELLS at a group of patrons next to me and says "leaning on the bar makes me want to help you less" and my group amd the other group make eye contact DISGUSTED by her treatment . Well after ANOTHER ALMOST 30 minutes we were done waiting and decided to just go spend the rest of the time we planned at the table we had I walked to the register to ask if it usually takes 30 minutes to get a beer and the nasty little waitress/bartender said "shew good bye " my response was "do better at your job "and I walked away ! As I am making my way to the top of the stairs I am grabbed on my arms and YANKED back (she rips my cardigan) and I told her she has NO RIGHT to put her hands on me and when I pushed her off she finally did what she was supposed to do and got the security I asked him if he knew it was illegal to touch patrons to which his response was "yes, but are you a cop?" This establishment is an embarrassment to ocean beach more so the people you have representing your bar ! For such a busy night having someone so inexperienced was not a good call .The owner was less than helpful and I've been going to ocean beach for over 10 years never had such a shitty experience in my life . I DO NOT recommend going here unless being attacked by the workers is something you want . Atmosphere was dirty and the band sucked ! After seeing the violations I'm glad I didn't try to get any food .

I went there after a long day, was greated as normal. Went to the bathroom and was called a racial slur by someone in there. I chose not to say what he said. I told the bartender, Charlie what happened and he compt my drink. The racist guy came over and tried to apologize but I didn't want it. ( only proving my point.) I was told he was a "regular " and wouldn't be kicked out, then I was told to leave. Avoid this spot! There's way better spots in OB.
