Walked in at 5:30, place was half empty, hostess w/ a vacant stare told us they’re not serving food anymore bc “we’re like really busy and the kitchen is understaffed. You can come back at 6 maybe we’ll be ready for you by then, maybe 6:30”. Won’t bother here again!

Bartenders excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Food was 10/10 and I’m not just saying that, literally a memorable food experience that made me say I want to take my girlfriend and family here next.

I love this place because the salads and non-pizza menu items are as fresh and delicious as anything they make.I can go with even the pickiest eaters and everyone is happy.Seems like ownership truly cares and takes time to craft great food and dishes so everything on the menu is exceptionally prepared and you can taste the attention to detail.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and gluten free options are great.Kid-friendliness: Yes

Our choice of Wheat and Water for our rehearsal dinner was based on our friend's rehearsal dinner a year ago. However, our own experience was a series of disappointments that left us completely underwhelmed. From the outset, the signs were troubling—our interaction was marred by inconsistent communication, which culminated in an alarming miscommunication about our event's cancellation due to a 'computer issue.' This should have been a red flag about the attention to detail and organizational proficiency of W &W.The evening itself did not fare better. We were promised use of a TV for a photo display, an aspect of the dinner we were looking forward to. Unfortunately, the staff member in charge was unable to set it up, and their impaired state was not only unprofessional but also a hindrance to our event's success. The food and drink, which should be the cornerstone of any dining event, were underwhelming. The drinks did not meet our expectations, and the salads were served without utensils—a basic necessity that was overlooked. Furthermore, the dessert—a special order from Extraordinary Desserts—was forgotten, depriving us of a planned sweet conclusion to our meal. For the price paid and the significance of the event, the level of service was sorely lacking. It's with regret that I must report our experience as not just underwhelming but distressing. It's crucial for future patrons to be aware that despite its reputation, our experience at Wheat and Water was far from satisfactory.I can only hope that this feedback is taken as an opportunity for Wheat and Water to improve and deliver the service that one would expect from such an establishment, ensuring no other family's special occasion is compromised.

Great spot for a quick bite in a super convenient location. Service was amazing and my Italian sub was delicious. Generous portions and reasonable prices. The craft beer menu also had some great picks on it.

Restaurant is ok but we were disappointed by several things: the water is served in disposable plastic glass (first time seeing this), we didn’t have any fork on the table so we had to ask for one and lastly they don’t bring you the check and instead just give you the price you have to pay (meaning it’s hard to confirm it is correct).

Great environment. Both times I've been here the wait staff has been attentive. Their veggie pizza is a solid 9.1/10 (one bite everyone knows the rules). But seriously, the pizza is really good! Pricey but a good spot for special occasions or to get a drink.

This isn't a very big restaurant but we had heard good things about it. We decided to give it a try. Their pizza is really good. Probably some of the best I've ever had. My husband had the chicken wings and said they were delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. While we were there we met a very friendly guy who grew up in LaJolla. He gave us some great information about the area. Nice to meet s friendly local. Really enjoyed it.
