I ordered the Poke special combo earlier this week and it was delicious. It came with a serving of spicy salmon poke, rice, a pack of dried seaweed, and a bottle of water. I'm not the biggest fan of raw fish, but the poke was so chewy and flavorful with a nice balance of savory, spicy, and some sweetness. I liked that the salmon pieces were cut small, so they could soak up more of the sauce. Really good value for fresh and yummy fish!!

Salmon poke + side order of rice = simple and yummy meal! There is a park/patch of grass nearby where you can sit as well. No seating inside. This is a no frills place, service is fast and you get what you see.

Basa is the best! Great service, quality fish and price. I come here almost every time I am in the mission. Absolute staple <3

Their spicy salmon is the best! Tastes so fresh and marinated very well. Affordable and great take out meal for a picnic if you're going to Dolores park. Parking gets tricky here but always worth the trip for the poke.

Simple, you can taste enjoy and taste freshness of their raw fish! I ordered using Doordash, I had salmon spicy poke and maguro nigiri sushi. I would definitely go back for more!

Super Fresh and super affordable. Can either be a quick pickup for lunch or pick up some extra rolls for dinner. Be sure to get the spicy poke and fresh seaweed salad if it’s available. This place is a real jewel of the mission ?

Seen Basa Seafood pop up a number of times while online so figured I'd give it a try for lunch. Ordered online for delivery during my workday. Order arrived neatly packed in a plastic bag that was double tied to keep it secure. Rainbow Roll - california roll topped with selection of fish. California roll was well balanced and well filled with quality fresh slices of fish on top. Side of ginger, wasabi, and regular soy sauce (would have preferred low sodium but it's all good). Shoyu Salmon Poke - fresh cubed salmon with shoyu on the side. Opted for this over the spicy salmon since I have poor spice tolerance. Shoyu sauce on the side. Savory but still had just a little bit of heat in it. Paired perfectly with a side of rice, ordered separately. Really impressed with quality of fish and the price point is quite reasonable.

Portion was good and owner seemed nice. We tried spicy salmon and clam chowder soup and the soup was fantastic! We can't wait to try other stuff next time when we are there. But my only warning is don't get too much of expectations ;) It is good but I think instagram made super high expectations, lol

Such a hidden gem with great priced sushi and poke to go. Service is fast but there are no seats indoors so be prepared to relocate. $8 for a generous portion of fresh salmon poke can't be beat around the area. I was so skeptical when I saw the place but the fish was SO fresh and my friend who doesn't even like raw fish has been requesting to go back ever since she tried the spicy salmon poke. Great for a beach day or any time you're craving quality fish at an unbeatable price. Will be coming again to try the shoyu salmon and other things!

An absolute gem in the Mission District! This is a great place to pick up sushi/sashimi to go and it is super affordable. It is very close to Dolores Park so it is the perfect picnic food on a sunny day. I ordered online for pick up and it was a seamless process. They have an area in the back for you to pick up your food instead of waiting in the line in front to order. I tried the Spicy Creamy Salmon Poke and Basa Special Roll. I also ordered small rice to pair with the poke. Spicy Creamy Salmon Poke - 10/10 - so creamy and so good! The salmon is super fresh and the sauce for it makes it super yummy. This is probably their best menu item and it is only $7.50! Basa Special Roll - 10/10 - I am a huge fan on scallop which enticed me to try this roll and I was blown away by how good it was! Usually I try to avoid rolls with the imitation crab meat but that paired with the scallop and salmon made a delicious combo. The scallop and salmon sizes were actually quite big which surprised me, there is also a good amount of rice (not too much) which made the roll 10/10 for me.

Finally visiting Basa Seafood Express after years of having it bookmarked felt like some sort of achievement. Maybe I'd work my way though all those yelp bookmarks after all. Or maybe not. Basa Seafood Express presented a strong case for not needing to go anywhere else to pick up a delicious and satisfying lunch. On a sunny Saturday afternoon this place was a hive of activity. I waited in line to place my order, paid, and was given a number that lit up when my order was ready. The person in line ahead of me got the last of their spicy salmon poke that day so I opted for the other poke (shoyu salmon), a Hamachi Maki, and a small order of steamed rice. The whole thing came in at less than $15 and these days, that constitutes quite a good value. I've heard there's places to eat inside Basa but I noticed none on this visit. I took my order to go as did everyone else and ate it with great satisfaction. The shoyu salmon poke proved to be nothing more than fresh salmon accompanied by a small container of spicy sauce with which it went well. The maki was fresh and well-prepared and benefited by the generous hamachi and ginger served alongside it. As someone who sometimes succumbs to sushi from the deli case at Mollie Stone's I can confidently say that what Basa puts out is better priced and seemingly fresher. I might not ever get to the rest of my yelp bookmarks but I will most assuredly make a return visit to Basa Seafood Express.

No seating inside was currently allowed. Food was decent, some orders were completely mixed up with what was actually ordered which was disappointing.
