A solid, neighborhood favorite! Every dish on the menu is a hit. We went tonight for SF Restaurant Week and the prix fixe dinner with wine pairing was fantastic! If you can, try and snag a table overlooking the backyard garden.
This place is one of my and my friends favorite places to eat after along day of filming and skating. The food is amazing. The meatloaf melts in your mouth and the fried chicken is one of the best.

I hadn't been back to Blue Plate in years, and am so glad I returned! It was as amazing as always - service, vibe, food. I had just returned from Brooklyn and was lamenting “why don't we have cozy, cool neighborhood restaurants like they have in San Francisco?” which is what prompted me to wander into Blue Plate again. Williamsburg and Greenpoint, eat your heart out!

Well now this place is a real treat. I am from the south and their take on southern specialties was a delight and exceptionally well executed. Deviled eggs were perfect. The Risotto was a pleasure to eat and my favorite dish was the drunken goat cheese Macaroni. I could have eaten it until I fell asleep at the table. They have a fine selection of beers and wine. Service was top class and I never felt like I was waiting for the next course. Worth a visit for sure. I will be back. Great vibe in this place.
First time trying Blue Plate + the meatloaf. Everything was phenomenal. Food and service exceeded my expectations. Try the brownie for dessert!

It's a cozy small space and when we sat down there were not a lot of people in the restaurant, but it took 10 minutes for a server to greet us and take our drink order. The brussel sprout appetizer was really oily and one of our fried chicken orders was not cooked all the way through so we had to send it back. The fried chicken was also really greasy, the taste of the fat overpowered the dish. The one positive with our meal was the side salad that came with the fried chicken and we enjoyed the desserts.

This is a hidden gem for sure, food is reliable and good, service attentive, it's not pretentious. So this place might be like your kitchen or your home cooking . All things equal I like this place for it's genuine approach to home cooked dishes.
Absolutely charming place. I feel like in Spain or Italy. We orderd octopus and risotto, it was outstanding! Also they have tables in garden!!! I must come back in summer.
