Amazing restaurant! Prices are great, so that you can try a few dishes in 1 visit. I tried the maguro bowl and champignon mushroom pasta. The maguro bowl was okay. I felt like more soy sauce on the tuna would've been better. The champignon pasta was amazing--smoky and perfectly seasoned! On a weeknight, they only have 2 servers serving ~20-25 people during rush dinner time. Service will be a bit slow, but all the more to tip each server more.

There was a 1 hr wait even at 8:30pm on a rainy Saturday night because there's pretty limited seating inside, but I'm so glad I was able to try this cute Japanese-European fusion restaurant in Mission! - Mentaiko spaghetti: this was definitely my favorite out of the food we ordered! The pasta was a perfect al dente, and the seafood-y Mentaiko sauce was creamy and flavorful and there was just enough to not be too heavy, it left me craving more - Champignon pasta: this was a lot lighter than the Mentaiko, probably more than I would have preferred, but I do love mushrooms, and it had a lovely mushroom fragrance - Chicken Karaage: I would recommend this for an appetizer for sure! They definitely do chicken karaage right -- the outside is crispy and the batter isn't too thick, and the chicken itself is tender and juicy. Plus the spicy mayo and lemon went really well Most of their other menu items didn't stand out as much to me, and because of the wait I probably wouldn't come again, but I would recommend trying at least once for a date night or with a friend!

Yesterday I got to try a restaurant that has been on my list for a while! bon, nene is a little Japanese restaurant in the Mission district of SF. We got there a little bit before opening and were the second customers. We ordered the chosoku set (japanese breakfast), chicken karaage, and champignon pasta. I'm not sure when the chosoku set is normally offered but it's not on the regular menu. On this day, the breakfast set had fried mackerel, curry croquette, potato salad, marinated egg, and mochi. Everything we had was really good and at reasonable prices too! I also enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and would come again! Next time I would want to try the katsu curry.

Always a pleasure to taste unique nihonshoku with subtle and delicate flavor profiles. Add to that rarity a well cared for, thoughtfully arranged atmosphere, and you have the makings of a perfect dinner date.Prices are reasonable, the staff was lovely, simply a beautiful dining experience.

This was a lovely, cozy spot to have lunch. Friendly service and a very comforting menu. We tried a variety of dishes and they were all delicious - I would reorder them all, especially the pasta and tuna dishes. Considering how there were no empty tables here, it seems like others find this place to be equally charming!

We loved the food here. The waitress was a tiny bit rude because we got there near closing time, but the delicious food and yuzu lemonade made up for it and then some. We'll definitely come back.

I came here with some friends for a budget-friendly dinner. Parking might be a little difficult, but we lucked out finding a spot near a school just a block away. After adding out names down on a paper waitlist, we were seated outdoors after a 15-20 minute wait. The restaurant is a bit small, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoors area is dimly lit, and had some heaters which sadly weren't switched on. I ordered the mentaiko spaghetti, which had a nice, rich flavor. Initially, I was concerned it might be too rich, but I managed to finish it and thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends opted for the champignon pasta and the daily special miso ramen. While they seemed to enjoy their meals, I thought they both lacked a bit of flavor compared to mine. However, this could be attributed to the strong flavor of my dish, but my friends enjoyed the champignon more than the ramen. We also tried the hojicha latte, which leaned more towards the hojicha tea flavor and didn't have as much creaminess and sweetness. Despite this, one of my friends still liked it. Service was subpar as we had to wait quite a while to get someone's attention for water and the bill, possibly due to the busy atmosphere. Overall, it's a decent place to eat, but be prepared for potential busyness and somewhat inattentive service.

Beautiful place to sit outside and eat lunch on a sunny day! If you come right at noon when they open there is no wait and service is super quick. I got the lunch set with the chicken katsu. If you want chicken katsu I would honestly get the chicken katsu curry instead because the curry looked soooo good. I will definitely be back to try that and other things. I would recommend the hoji cha iced latte as well. Good flavor and not drowned out by sweetness. (It's not really sweet at all).

Solid 4.5 stars. 0.5 deduction only because they opened up 15 minutes after their 12PM open time 'cause being punctual is important. My wife has been here several times. She loves Mentaiko Spaghetti which is delicious. And yuzunade 'cause it was one of the warmest day in Feb. For my first time, I ordered the Maguro Bowl, Takoyaki, and Echigo koshihikari lager on the side. The Maguro Bowl was very fresh and really hit the spot for me. The Takoyaki was solid, but wish it came with the classic bull dog sauce. The lager was smooth and refreshing. The space itself is small, cozy, and quiet. Service was great, no complaints.

Feels likes a quaint neighborhood spot you’d find in the suburbs of Osaka. Food aims for authentic, but you can taste the SF influence which im not mad about in this case. Mentaiko noodles is classic here. Frozen beer is fun for visitors. Their asahi tap is also super solid.

Cute little place! Has some outdoor seating. Inside is very intimate so sometimes feels a little cramped, and the tables are on the smaller side so if you order a lot, it can get kind of overwhelming. Gets really busy during dinner time any day of the week so it's best to get there right when it opens. The food is good and tastes very homey!
