Absolutely living up to it’s name and it’s claims. As a tourist from Europe, mostly familiar with Scotch and Irish whiskey, I asked for something special from the US and I wasn’t disappointed. Thanks guys! Nice ambience and tasteful timeless interior design too.

Website says they're open, bartender refused to serve at 12:45 am when the website says 2 am. Bartender was drinking instead of taking orders. This place is canceled. Never go here.

Coming here on a Friday night I definitely had higher expectations. We passed this place on the way to dinner, saw their impressive bottle collection and fun menu and decided to stop by afterwards. When we first entered, no one greeted us, and it was unclear whether we could just sit down or not. After realizing there was only one bartender and he didn't seen to care at all, or even look in our direction, we went and sat down. After some time we got menus, and visited the spirits list (the only thing I really care about these days), and saw that they had a Stagg Jr bourbon for the incredible price of $18/pour. The bartender seemed overwhelmed even though there was literally 2 patrons sitting at the bar, and two other tables all of whom had gotten their drinks at this point. Someone in our group went to the bar to get drinks, but one person wasn't able to answer what they wanted right away, and the bartender literally rolled his eyes at us and left to go do something else. We waited probably a good 15 min at the bar to order after that because he was busy making a different drink and couldn't even answer questions. After some time, he said he may not have Stagg Jr so I picked another bourbon. When the cool bottle set up was rotating, I spotted the bottle and requested it. He insisted that this was not Stagg Jr but Stagg (because they recently dropped Jr from the label on the small bottle). Any literal whiskey drinker knows the difference between George T Stagg & Stagg Jr. Just because they dropped the Jr label does not make this Stagg. He argued with us regarding this aspect and in the end charged us more for the same pour. It was overall just like an incredibly rude experience and super disappointing. The mixed cocktails were not well balanced and honestly as impressive as their bottle list is, the service, ambiance and attitude was just off. I would not recommend this spot.

This place has fallen apart. They got new “management,” and apparently got rid of anyone who knew what they were doing. New staff is green, unprofessional, and don’t care. Also, since when is it okay to be drunk at work? I get you serve booze but cmon. When I came in, the bar was empty, literally, empty. No staff.. for 20 minutes. Finally the “bar manager” (black mullet, very young, not sure the name or gender,) appeared and took our order without bothering to apologize or ask how long we had been sitting there. I Asked for an off menu cocktail— they didn’t know how to make it (I’m assuming based on how long it took to make, and how it tasted.) it was ironic considering they boasted about this being their bar, how they’re now running the place. To then turn a simple drink into something barely drinkable, shows the direction they’re going.I asked about an employee (who I won’t name,) to see if she’d be coming in (basically seeing if I should wait for her to get there and make me a drink, or if I should just go — surely wasn’t letting this new person make me anything else.) In response, this new employee went on for 5 minutes, being extremely unprofessional, badmouthing the woman I had come to know and love over the last 2 years. Not sure if this was because the new person was drunk (they seemed drunk, and I saw them take a few shots in the time I was there.). All I know is that I was offended for the former bartender, especially, knowing that this new person is trying to destroy her reputation.— in short, you got rid of the best employee you had and replaced them with someone has a lot of growing to do. It’s no wonder the place is so empty these days. I for one, won’t be back. Such a shame to see them ruin this place.

My group and I decided to stop for drinks after eating at House of Prime Rib. Two in the group already been here, but it was my first time. I loved the ambiance: beautiful rotating bar shelf display, eclectic music, and uniquely named beverages (e.g., Personality Crisis). My drink paired well with an order of very crispy fries with aioli that was enough to feed the group. Service was great. Bathroom was clean and spacious. If I'm in the area again looking for a drink and easy bar food, I wouldn't say no!

God damn..this bar is no joke. Louie and Claire are serving up top notch service and drinks. The selection of whiskey is unmatched. Highly recommended stopping in and seeing for yourself.

Every time I've been here, it's been super chill, and good vibes. My fave cocktail on their menu is the Love Gun. I went last night and the bartender was really nice. Food is actually pretty good too!

The cocktails were absolutely amazing. A special thanks to the amazing person behind the bar who ran across the block to return the credit card I accidentally left behind!

Cocktails here were amazing! But service lacked for a Thursday, we waited quite some time to close out. Other than that would definitely would be back to try a bite to eat, we sat at the bar and watched all the food come out looking delicious ?

It’s a hard pass for me. The bartender wasn’t very interested in being a bartender. We went to another bar for our second drink before a concert. No need to stop here. For any reason.

One of the best concepts from Future Bars. The collection of vintage decanters are worth taking some time to view. The drinks are reasonably priced for such huh quality downtown. And they have solid food options as well.

Liked the place and had a couple of drinks during my visit to SF. I tried old fashioned and penicillin, the penicillin was good and met my expectation of a decent penicillin.
