Nice place. First time here. Has a vintage Italian feel. You'd expect to see an old Mafioso at his favorite table in the back. Had a pizza and minestone soup. Pizza was a little soggy and the soup needed a little kick. Maybe it was an off night.

My husband has been going here for almost 40 years most likely when they opened! We've been coming when I came in the picture in 1988 and then when our son was born 1993! One of San Francisco's staples! We just went there last week I wasn't feeling too good to take pics but here are our faves! Or at least mine! The Cannolis absolutely amazing, I especially love it with their Raviolis in cream sauce! Pizzas are delish and my fave fave is their Minestrone Soup and the Tiramisu! Heck don't take my word for it, try it - PROMISE you'll love Gaspare's!

Our group tried this cozy neighborhood restaurant last week. The menu offered lots of options. Sadly, there were several mix ups with what we were served: Caesar salad came out as a mixed green salad with lots of tomatoes and peppers with Italian dressing. My pasta with Boulanase sauce was served with a cream Vodka sauce (I guess, not quite sure). The meatball sandwich was huge and the pizza looked good. Perhaps an off night in the kitchen?

Ordered pizza and pasta takeout. Pasta was ok and a bit pricey. Pizza came with tomato sauce despite us ordering NO TOMATO SAUCE.

I have never had such delicious pizza. My aunt introduced this place to me and I've been obsessed ever since. I usually get a specialty pizza with ground chicken, mushrooms, etc and it is mouthwatering. The salads are just as delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful. It makes me feel like I'm in a different country. The workers are always happy, kind, and smiling.

Called on a Tuesday to place an order, long answering machine message that is difficult to understand. Bottom line, you cannot order via phone, has to be done online. That really sucks!

I often bring my family here as well as visitors from out of town. Good pizza, great staff, good prices. What more do you need?

Where do I even begin? Gaspare's has been a family favorite for pizza for over 20 years. We don't get to have Gaspare's often as we don't live in SF anymore. My mom lives about 10 blocks from Gaspare's, but she is not a huge pizza fan so pizza is not a food we have often when we have dinner with her. We recently picked up six pies for a birthday get-together and every pizza was as delicious as I can remember. Takeout ordering is available online and convenient. I was able to select my pick-up time and pay in advance. Upon arrival a little before 6 p.m., the restaurant was already filled with diners and people waiting for their takeouts. The place was nostalgic to me as it looks just as I remembered with the red and white tablecloths and floral decor. It was raining pretty hard and nearly impossible for me to carry six pies to my husband's double-parked car around the block. A server was so nice and offered to help me carry the pizzas in the rain. The pizzas were so chock full of toppings and the crust was just right. I love the ground salami they use in their pizzas. We got a cheese pizza, 2 pizza alla sorrento (ground salami and mushrooms), a Bruce's Special (linguica, ground salami, mushrooms, garlic), an Eddie's Special (anchovies, mushrooms, pepperocinis, garlic) and a combo fantastico (pepperoni, mushrooms, sausage, ground salami, bell peppers, onions, olives). My favorite was the Eddie's Special. Anchovies in pizza always make it different and flavorful! Writing this review makes me crave Gaspare's again!

One star for the extremely poor attitude of Ricardo the pizza maker. Giving Heather and Jorge 5+ stars for spectacular service and hopelessly apologizing for their coworkers arrogance. As patrons for over 50+ years (originally as Vince's) it is extremely disappointing to see how Ricardo is allowed to stare, snicker and motion like he is irritated to make your food you ordered and paid for. Thanks Ricardo for making one person in our party eat alone because you spend more time watching videos on you phone with your earbuds in instead of paying attention to the orders coming in. It isn't a one man show and Danny needs to let go of the bad apple in the bunch of gems. I am not the only one complaining either.....Danny you would be a fool to let one person ruin the atmosphere. Let us know when Ricardo is gone and we will be back. I welcome a conversation for details if you would like.
