Visiting from Washington and stumbled upon this place, which is a few blocks from my hotel. If you come to SF for a conference, and you like spicy Chinese food, come to this place.As someone from Hunan’s adjacent province, i can attest to the authenticity of food here. however, pls go with a friend who speaks chinese or ask for the chinese menu. they do have separate menus.The meat is appropriated seasoned, veggies very fresh, flavorful yet not too saucy. I first ate at Henry's Hunan in 1980, on Kearny St. I had read about it in the New Yorker before I moved to the Bay Area in 1980, and had to give it a try. The flavors were so intense and unique - and delicious. I have lived in the Seattle area for 30 years, but still try to get there whenever I visit SF. It was just my wife and I, so we couldn't order as much as I would have liked, The Curry Chicken, though, was undiminished in its intensity and deliciousness, so it did the trick...read full review
