Went for crab. I'm use to fresh and you can't get any fresher. They are live in the tank. Also had good selection of other seafood. There is a little take out inside also.

On a recommendation from some Sushi Chefs and Seafood Restaurants, this New Year I went there to order fresh Ahi Tuna and Hamachi. The service from the owner and staff was exceptional and the products I purchased were amazing. It truly made my New Year family get together a Start of a Great New Year. I will do it again and make it an annual affair. Thank you.

There are always a lot of locals, which definitely means that many people like this place. The sellers are always nice, they will tell you everything, help you with your choice and immediately clean your catch if necessary. Always a wide selection of fresh fish, shrimp, escalopes, oysters, the catch depends on the season, I will try it again and again and recommend it to everyone. It is best to come from Tuesday, because Sunday is a day off and fishermen do not go to sea

Amazing meal- great waiter- and fun ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We all had fish- just prepared in different ways. My snapper grilled on the oak board was perfect! Wait was a little long 30+ minutes on Tuesday night, but everyone was friendly and the enticing aromas wafting out as the door opened and closed convinced us the wait would be worthwhile- which it was! Only flaw was despite the website saying they are open every night, when we walked over Monday at 6:30, they were closed. Definitely go here for dinner- maybe call first!

Fresh dead squid , loves it! @ $4/lb, what can go wrong? That's a steal! Must go to if you like cooking fresh and fresh frozen seafood dishes

We stopped by to get some fresh seafood. We ended up getting a bunch different things to use for our seafood dinner. If you know how to process while fish, this is the place for you. The prices are cheaper than what you would get and they are fresh! We got quite a bit and under $30! The place does smell fish, which is to be expected. The service was pretty fast as well, either get your own with gloves or ask them to help you.

The best!! Outstanding quality at the best price, straight from the water every day.Everything they sell is responsibly sourced and they verify the boats and methods of catch. A great way to learn and follow the seasonality and regionality of local seafood. This is their wholesale operation which closes at 10-11am and there is also a retail store in Berkeley

I love Monterey Fish Co. nothing but the freshest seafood specializing in all things coming out of the Monterey Bay waters. Service is friendly and the family that runs this space is always kind and helpful.

Located at the very end of the pier with parking in front of the store. My first time buying and cooking squid! Reasonable prices. It does smell fishy, but I think it is more from the concrete floor surface and aged wharf setting.Would like to rate it higher, but strangely most of the seafood is not local. I chose the Black Cod because it was from the area. Maybe it was because it was towards the end of the day, but the staff weren't the most enthusiastic. I might stop by again for their sole and maybe they will be more soulful.

We were so excited to finally come here. Too bad it's not salmon season, as we really wanted fresh salmon. We ended up buying squid, halibut and salmon fish bones, large sardines, and 1 dozen fresh oysters, all for $26. Quite a bargain. Can't wait come here again during the right season.
