Ordered chicken biryani… got was vegetable fried rice with boneless chicken.. not a hint of biryani flavor.. wish I had the temperament return the food and demand money back. Never again. Below is to reply to the owners rebuttal: very nice auto generated response which is completely irrelevant and false as my order was to go and no one came to my table to check up. Just do better and serve better food!

I have to be honest, the only reason I went to New Delhi is bc an influencer on IG suggested it. When we first arrived, we were greeted by happy smiling faces. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was fun and original. The food was amazing and definitely the best Indian food I’ve had in the city. We were so pleasantly surprised by food and service. The owner came by our table and shared some of his secret menu drink. Sooo good! We had such a lovely dinner :)

Went here with my team from work, the food was delicious, but that’s something anybody would expect from a restaurant in this part of SF; what I didn't expect was the amazing ambiance and the awesome staff. The Tandoori was incredible and I email emphatically recommend it; but go for the people who make it an experience, that’s what really won me over…Also the Chai, it was really good too!

Unfortunately this has to be up there with one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Got recommended this place and doesn’t look too bad, decent reviews and by the looks decent food however on this occasion, this was not the case. We got there at 8pm and was greeted promptly by a gentleman who took us to the table, there were only 2 other tables in at this time so atmosphere was lacking. We got our drinks order in promptly and browsed the menu which had a variety of dishes and classic ones you’d expect to get in an Indian restaurant anywhere in the word. We had some starters to begin with which were alright. We then got our main courses which were disappointing to say the least, the butter chicken seemed to just be tandoori chicken thrown in sauce and it still had bones in it, now this maybe normal but in prior places I’ve been, it’s usually boneless. The main issue with this was the actual quality of the chicken which was awful, it was fatty and had lots of veins, overall just not good. The tandoori chicken quality was unfortunately the same. I had ordered a chicken tikka masala which was good and didn’t have any issues with. Our garlic Naan was ok! We were informed by a waitress that all dishes came with naan and rice, fantastic, however, only 1 plate of rice came out which wasn’t enough for 3 people. We were told we were wrong at the end by one of the waiters and that one plate had three portions in it, if this was the case that would have meant 3-4 spoons of rice per person.Disappointing food and service and after seeing a $180 dollar bill for 1 chicken starter and 3 chicken main dishes, the price did not match what we had received. After bringing up these points with a gentleman who cleared our plates, he just went totally silent and didn’t even apologise, I knew full well it wasn’t his fault with the food and didn’t expect him to rectify the issue but it was the lack of acknowledgment which left a bad impression. He then went and discussed this with some colleagues in the middle of the floor and then nobody actually came over to discuss our issues, we waited about 15 minutes before the same gentleman came over with a card machine to take payment, keep in mind there was only 1 other table in at the time and no supervisor/duty manager came over.We asked if something could be done about the bill as that high price did not reflect our experience here, let alone the $28 additional service charge! The bill got taken away again and then a woman from earlier came back and said nothing could be done because there was no manager or supervisor on? This doesn’t make any sense as there were at least 4 members of FOH staff working so I don’t believe there wasn’t someone senior who couldn’t have come over and spoken to us. This lady also didn’t apologise for any of the issues we brought up and tried to make it out as our fault. During the service nobody came to check back on us at all and make sure everything was ok or if we needed anything else. This is normal in any restaurant. The lady then said we could have gotten her at any point because, and in her own words “I was just standing over there”, if that was the case then how could she not have checked back on us? After being told again nothing can be done, we paid up and left. At the bottom of the check, they have added a line that said “No Refund”, this is a major red flag.Overall the food and service was disappointing, there was a total lack of accountability from all staff and it was clear they did not care about their guests. The most disappointing part of it all was their response to the situation which left us feeling disappointed. They failed to hit the basic steps and standards of service in a restaurant setting.I would advise avoiding here if you plan on having Indian cuisine while in San Francisco, other places might be more expensive but hopefully far better.

I came here on a trip as a single diner, the portions were perfect but this food, setting, and atmosphere is 10/10 for bringing a group to share with.I ordered the Herra Keebab to start since it was marked a specialty and it had the a good amount of heat to it.Seekh Keebab (lamb, rice, and naan) was SO good. Highly recommend. Everything about the visit was awesome. Staff were all attentive and friendly too. Will definitely pop in again next time I'm in the areaDietary restrictions: No pork

We had a fantastic experience eating here. All the food had so much flavour and arrived quickly, tasted delicious, and was very filling. The entire staff was pleasant to talk to and very attentive and caring. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was very charming and had some cool aesthetics, but the whole experience was really top notch. Definitely recommend eating here if you love good Indian cuisine! Try the hot chai drink for dessert.

I've been to this restaurant on numerous occasions and have had a great experience. The food is awesome, servers were polite and the environment was welcoming. They focus on a sense of community, so a lot of the dishes involve sharing as a group; not quite sure why some would think this operated like a Western restaurant. Some personal favorites are the Saag Paneer and Murgh Akbari along with the different types of Naan (Garlic is another fave).I'll always recommend this place to those who want to try some great and **Authentic** Indian food.
