Got sushi ans it was very good. They have a few unique rolls that were really good. Location is small, so you may want to get a reservation for busy

The atmosphere is extremely elegant, the fish is high quality and well prepared and presented. I have been to over 30 sushi restaurants in the city of SF and Otoro Sushi is literally the best quality sushi experience you can get for the price. The service is always pleasant. I cannot compliment this restaurant enough.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are on par in quality and artisanal skill with the fish dishes. One of the only places where the vegetarian rolls feel like a real consideration rather than an afterthought. I take all my vegetarian friends here. The futomaki and the pickles are a highlight. I genuinely get the futomaki over fish rolls sometimes.

Everything was delicious and service was excellent. What a nice gem in the neighborhood. Agedashi tofu, karaage chicken, asparagus with Kobe beef and spicy tuna hand roll and shoyu ramen were so delicious ! Highly recommend this place.

Excellent meal. Reasonably priced for San Francisco. Agadashi tofu was delicious and good size. Skewer scallop appetizer with garlic sauce was tasty but quite small portion for price. Hamachi crudo and seared white tuna were very flavorful and large portion. Rolls were all excellent. Much better value than other Hayes Valley Japanese restaurants.

I had the stuffed shishito peppers and they didn’t taste very fresh or particularly good. The scallops and salmon belly were good, but not particularly special in terms of flavor profile. then I had Uni Nigri, which tasted good, but it didn’t look as good as the pictures I saw it didn’t have the real raw wasabi on top as pictured. Overall slightly disappointed but I would go back and give them another shot. Service was great. People were very nice and attentive.

Wonderful experience all around: great food, fast attentive service, very cozy atmosphere. Ate here years ago and was so happy to rediscover them and still enjoy the same quality experience.

Amazing. Really upset we haven't been regulars here. But we will be now! Traditional Japanese:smaller portions of rice, most pieces are garnished with go easy on soy and almost no need for wasabi. It was a great experience. Definitely worth the money-though it means ess as tons here a little less often than the more.... Cheap places where.... You only eat rolls anyway. This is a place recommended for sashimi & nigiri. Maybe finish with some thing warm. But stick to the raw stuff. Vegetarians are well served also! So bring friends

Always delicious sushi and side-dishes. The spicing is spot-on. The service is very friendly, attentive and efficient. We come to this restaurant often before the symphony concerts.

Otoro Sushi was our go to place if we were seeing a show at SF Jazz. Since the pandemic the quality has slipped. The fish is still fresh but anything with a fried element is greasy and the tempura is mealy and not crisp. We didn't enjoy the shrimp tempura or the soft shell crabs. The spider roll was just ok. The tuna and avocado roll was excellent—the tuna was very fresh. We will go back but change our go to dishes to determine if we will continue eating here.
