Came here before a concert, it was a great snacks that turned into dinner :)Ordered the arepa and cachapa- loooove them! I personally like cachapa better because of thinner crust and that allows me to balance the corn and meat flavor. But the arepa still tastes amazing!Too bad there was no interesting drinks available, though. The restaurant was small and quiet, it's pretty tidy with small water dispenser available. The service is pretty decent, you'll need to come to the register and pay.

As a visitor to SF: I ordered the white traditional arepa with pulled pork pernil filling to go, and oh my, when I got home and started eating, it was still amazing despite sitting in a plastic take-out box for 25 min. The flavours are just great. The photo doesn't do it's justice. For San Francisco, the price seems okay.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free

I’ve eaten Pica Pica many times and will continue coming here. You can get a tasty arepa for a decent price (by San Francisco standards) and this is a great place for someone with gluten intolerance as arepas are corn-based. A few of the times I’ve have eaten here, the meat was pretty dry. Recently it has improved and I haven’t run into this issue.

I don’t live in SF anymore, but anytime I pass through the city I have to come to Pica Pica. The sweet corn arepas are out of this world, I haven’t been able to find anything comparable to them. The plantains, the sauces, the meat… I could go on. Pica Pica has my heart (and stomach)

The service leaves a lot to be said, the attitude of the cashier is very bad!The empanadas in the middle were cold and had a burnt oil color, plus the meats did not have a good flavor, what a shame, I had good expectations!

Been hearing about this place and was intrigued because I want less gluten in my life. Came here with friends on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. I ordered the trio with beef, veggie, and vegan arepas and man were they amazing. Fresh ingredients and great flavors and textures, especially with the Beef Pabellón. Can't wait to come back!

I used to LOVE Pica Pica but my recent experiences have been different. However, I do think it's likely due to the options that I chose. In particular, I really didn't like the beef Pabellón filling--the description sounded like heaven but the reality didn't live up to it. Massive hunks of stringy beef that were all but impossible to eat in an arepa--had to put it down and eat the beef filling w knife and fork (or pull off piece by piece by hand). The flavor of the plantains in the dish were totally lost due to the overwhelming amt of beef. The arepa itself was excellent, as usual. In general, the different arepas and cachacas I've had here in the past were almost always spectacular, as are the yucca fries. This the 4 stars. One thing that was shockingly bad tho: the garlic coconut rice. It was bone dry and completely lacking in flavor. The worst side of rice I've ever had. Avoid it (sadly)!

The food was just alright but the service was fatal. The person working the register today at 3p was so unprofessional and condescending. I was made to feel like a criminal because hello San Francisco.
