This is our favorite breakfast place in the Sfbay area. Get the pistachio latte; the sFlight of sweet pancakes, the French toast, or (my favorite) the Chorizo Scramble. The breakfast potatoes are unmissable, too.Get there early to beat the line.

Fine brunch food but quite expensive for what it is. Brunch was delicious and filled our hunger, but it wasn't the best we've had. I do appreciate that they have gluten free pancakes, but they were just 'fine'.Vegetarian options: Pancakes are about it. Add eggs for better balance.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pancakes and veracruz eggs will work.

long story short, this had to have been the absolute worst fried chicken and waffles combo i've ever ordered and forced myself to eat. the fried chicken itself was over cooked, extremely greasy and it seemed as though it had been sitting there for a while because i noticed that the waffle was soggy and it seemed like it had soaked up the oil from the chicken on top of it. i didn't like the sauce that they provided on the side when i tried it. the order came with guacamole which made zero sense to me as not one ingredient on the plate needs guacamole as a side. lastly, the bacon was also overcooked to the point where it crunched and broke apart when i bit it. i'm not sure if this was a one off error for the dish and i could go on about the issue but ultimately it was the overcooked and underflavored chicken, the soggy waffle and the random guacamole with borderline burnt bacon. i was extremely disappointed with my overall breakfast experience.

Usually there is a line and for a good reason: this place executes well on pretty much everything we ordered. Waffles were crisp, fried chicken was crisp, the French toast with custard was mindblowingly good.

At Plain Jane in San Francisco, the brunch experience is both cozy and satisfying. Starting with the crispy potatoes, they were a perfect balance of a golden-brown crust and tender insides, with just the right touch of seasoning to complement the richness of the eggs. The garlic sautéed spinach offered a fresh, aromatic twist that balanced the meal with its delightful greens. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and light, drizzled with a zesty sauce that added an extra layer of flavor. While everything was delicious, a pinch of salt and pepper would have made the eggs even more delectable. This is a minor note in an otherwise delightful meal that truly hits the spot for a brunch outing. The staff took care of my allergies and concerns which goes a mile for me when it comes to my health concerns. I would say the price is a little above average for a brunch spot.

Literally no vegan options, I've never been somewhere in sf that can't at least make accommodations. When asked if there were options they just said "No" so we had to go somewhere else

I loved the french toast so much! It was soft, eggy, crisped on the outside, and covered in sweet fresh fruit. The bread was super thick but not too dense and chewy. The thickness of the cut really enhanced the eating experience and was by far my favorite dish of the meal. The red velvet pancakes were also good, but not as fluffy as I would have liked. I did try a bit of the cottage cheese pancakes and those were much more fluffy without losing their substance. I also tried some of the eggs benedict which were great but didn't rise to the heights of their sweet breakfast items. I appreciated how generous they were with their toppings for all our dishes. The drinks looked interesting but the pistachio latte we tried was very light and more old school with a very bubbly milk foam. Not particularly silky or warm.If I had to choose one item, I'd recommend splitting the sweet flight with a friend so you get to try all three at a more economical price.Overall, a great brunch spot to hit when in the city! I am definitely going to come back as I'm dying to try their hong kong style french toast

Wow! The pancakes were amazing. The Benedict was amazing. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Get the pancake flight!

Incredibly delicious brunch! My friend and I visited on a Saturday around 11:30am and had a short wait for a table inside. I ordered the fried chicken and red velvet waffle and my friend ordered the mambo italiano tartine. We each also got a mimosa each. The red velvet waffle was delicious and I can't say enough good things about it! The chicken was also good quality. I personally thought it was a little odd to include guacamole with this dish since it didn't go very well with the rest of the food (maybe the chicken by itself)

San Francisco for the weekend and you know a foodie is always on a hunt for good food plain Jane popped out. So the drink strong but good, sausage & shrimp grits was good but I wouldn't come back for it.. The potatoes fire very crispy . Fast and friendly service ...

plain jane is so cute & if you dont know about mymy, check it out, exact same everything. i believe they are sister restaurants. the crispy potatoes are everything, the service is great considering how busy both locations get, the atmosphere is super chill, & the food is TASTY. i usually get the coastal benedict which is AMAZING, but i opted for somethin' different this time around. have been supporting both locations for years now.. those freakin' potatoes.

Honestly, wasn't too impressed my first visit to Plain Jane's, BUT I'm so glad I gave it a second try! I personally didn't love the Chipotle Honey Fried Chicken & Red Velvet Waffle. I ordered this my first visit. The fried chicken wasn't very flavorful and the chipotle sauce didn't do much for me. Red velvet waffle was okay, but didn't like it with the chipotle chicken. The real MVP was the Jane's Plate! Two eggs, chive pancakes, bacon and crispy potatoes. 10/10!!! I'm still thinking about the chive pancakes with a dollop of Gorgonzola Mascarpone cream on top. Amazing. Bacon was crispy, scrambled eggs fluffy and potatoes solid. This restaurant doesn't take reservations, but has plenty of seating and the line moves fast. Last call on food is 1:30, so make sure your entire party is there before then! Also, only 1 bathroom (mostly likely will have a line).I'll definitely be returning for those chive pancakes.
