My go-to sushi place for a casual but cozy night. The food is well priced, the service is great. They play jazz, so it feels very homey and cozy.

Great location, exceptional food, and wonderful people! A friend brought me here after attempting to get into the always-packed Ebisu around the corner. While Kazu might not be as aesthetically pleasing as Ebisu post-remodel, the superior food quality, welcoming atmosphere, and unique offerings make you feel like you're in Japan, or at least not in SF. I've visited twice, and the second experience was just as delightful as the first. Oh, and they have this fried chicken that is absolutely fantastic! Important Note: Disregard P.M (Patin) who rated Kazu as 2 stars; he seems to be consistently dissatisfied and has criticized my business as well.

We had high hopes based on other reviews. Enjoyed the hamachi kama and the service was lovely even though there’s just one server for the whole place. However, the raw fish was terrible. We tried sashimi, rolls and both tasted anything but fresh and were cut poorly so that it was difficult to eat and enjoy. The fish didn’t taste like it was entirely bad, but it tasted like it had was on ice or in a refrigerator for too long. We had a mixture of more than five different cuts of sashimi and they ended up all having been imparted with that same fridge taste. The avocado in the California roll tasted expired as well.We brought all this to their attention and they made no effort to compensate for any of our disappointment and dissatisfaction. Would recommend looking elsewhere for quality sashimi. Hoping this was a fluke but won’t be trying it again.

Best most authentic sushi in the City. Ask for the grilled unagi served simply with sea salt. This is a small, charming, family owned and operated spot and I almost hate telling anyone about it, but they deserve the attention and the business.

Nigiri was great. Rolls were messy and not very good. Service was slow, there should really be a second server. The restaurant itself was cute, not too special.

Great food and ambiance. Food arrived timely. We got the speciality rolls and they were tasty

Went on a Tuesday night with my partner and sitted pretty quickly. The restaurant was near full capacity. Unfortunately, the sushi chef couldn't handle the volume of orders for that night. It took 1.5 hrs for 3 rolls to come out. Might be better service on another night. The food was good. But pretty small portions for the price. We got the following: - King Kong - Dragon - Hamachi

Higher end Sushi place with fewer tables. Seems family or mom & pop. High quality & smaller portions. I'm not Japanese but its 9/10 in my book for Sushi/Sashimi. Come here if you want quality and but don't expect volume. Expect to pay about $50 per person.

Delicious! So fresh. Thoughtfully prepared. Be prepared to take your time. It's worth it.

High-quality sushi! Reasonable price, considering the high quality of the suchi! The pieces of fish in the Moriawase were "buttery" and very fresh. We also enjoyed the mackerel + ginger roll. And our 4yo loved the avocado roll. Sushi Kazu will definitely be added to our regular rotation!

Great sushi, amazing environment, slow service. The place has an amazing environment. Inside has a calming feel and the place looks like you were transported into a restaurant in Japan. The service was slow, there was only one man making everything. The food took at least half an hour to receive if not longer. Despite a one man show behind the sushi bar, the food was great. The fish was refreshing and the rice had amazing quality to it. The sauces were tasty and blended well with the fish and rice. Overall great food and atmosphere, but slow service.

Sushi Kazu is fantastic! A great gem for the inner sunset to have. The restaurant is very small and service can be impacted when there are a lot of customers but the food is amazing.

An excellent place for relaxation and dinner. Soft jazz music, a cozy venue with a limited number of seats, European-style ambiance combined with Asian cuisine. Fresh fish, authentic Japanese soy sauce, sake, and outstanding dishes, all prepared with care. This charming place will recharge you after a challenging workday and bring a positive end to your day, providing a pleasant escape from the monotony of weekdays ??
