OMG!!! This place is HORRIBLE!!!! I ordered the well advertised sausage sandwich and was so disappointed!!! First, they take out a frozen sausage and they MICROWAVE it!! Just disgusting!! They MICROWAVE the bread with the condiments on it. Then they take the meat and put it on the bread and they MICROWAVE it again!!! To make matters worse, I go to take a bite of the sandwich and the meat is still COLD!! Buyers beware, do not waste your time or money there!!! You WILL be disappointed. I see why they had zero traffic. I paid $13 for the microwaved sausage sandwich and a bottle of Root Beer and ended up throwing that disgusting sandwich away. NEVER EVER again for me.

Ordered an Avocado Turkey sandwich and I didn't get Avocado in sandwich. Meat showcase was empty, wouldn't go back.

I so appreciate having this place in the neighborhood. Their sausage is so good and it makes my heart happy to go there and see the friendly owner and staff. My 6 year old is a sausage lover just like her mama (good ones!) and she absolutely loves their sausage. Specially the garlic one. I'll try to stop more often to buy more as we are just in the neighborhood. Sometimes the parking is hard in the area specially if you are in a hurry and with a small child (that's why I don't stop often), but I feel lucky when the spot in front of the store is available. Their sandwiches are also good and my husband would agree! Thank you thank you!

3.5 stars. We had visited before, but I am glad I was able to stop in again. Old school Italian deli and market that has been serving the community for over a century!!! Amazing. The service was friendly and welcoming. Our Own Italian Sausage: Their marinara sauce, sautéed bell peppers and onions on choice of french roll or wheat.

This business is a treasure, and has been serving the community for 115 years! Their sausage sandwiches are simply delicious, and their service is always exceptional.

Cute idea, but the "fresh" cake they gave me was moldy.

Wow, what a find! I was in San Jose tagging along on my wife's business trip when I looked for an Italian style deli. This was the only one I could find. As I pulled up to the storefront to look for parking, I saw the sign and knew I had found just what I was looking for. This is no four star restaurant, but the atmosphere is neighborhood market cool. Very vintage and authentic. There are a couple of tables inside and outside on the patio. Polenta, giant sized cans of sauce fixings from Italy and pasta with soda and water coolers on the other side of a smallish counter order area. Didn't look like it had too many offerings in the deli display, but probably just what the neighborhood needs. The soft spoken, pretty woman behind the counter asked what I wanted, and was pleasant. She fixed me up one of the best Italian sausage sandwiches I've ever had! They are known for their sausage sandwiches and I can see why. They have three choices, sweet, garlic and spicy hot and three types of bread, white, wheat and sourdough. I chose the garlic on sourdough and was taken aback by how good the sausage was. The bread was that great Nor-Cal sourdough flavor. Great balance of just enough sauce, cheese, peppers and onions and bread. I loved it! I'll be back for one for the road when we leave town!

This place looked like an old cute deli that my friend mentioned. We were hoping it would be like Little Lucca's but of San Jose. This place was a bit disappointing. If you're going to advertise a limited sandwich menu, your sandwiches should be really good. Sandwiches are $14-20 nowadays, and I wouldn't recommend coming here for their food altogether. Pastrami sandwich - 1/5 stars A proper pastrami sandwich should have half an inch thick cut of meat without tomatoes, lettuce and other fillers. This place heavily relies on the fillers to make it a sandwich. Ordered this without the fillers and it was extremely sad. You basically get 2-3 slices of pastrami on bread. You're better off going to Safeway to buy the ingredients for the same price. I also ordered the pasta with spicy sausage. It was questionable when they said they didn't have a lot of it in stock. To me that means, it's frozen, not fresh, and isn't ordered often. I would skip ordering the pasta altogether. The quality is the same as the frozen aisle. Do yourself a favor and make it yourself from same ingredients at your local grocery store. Parking is limited in the area, and you will likely have to parallel park in front by the park and walk over.

Quaint Historical Deli. We read about it in a book about the history of Italian’s in San Jose. We ordered a meatball sandwich and a 1908 Garlic Sausage sandwich. Both were delicious. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful.

I've been a loyal customer for many years as their sausages, ravioli, and tomato sauce are very good quality. Unfortunately some of their sandwiches are not. Had a Reuben sandwich the other day for 12.00!! Hardly ANY ingredients whatsoever, couldn't taste the single slice of cheese, and the pastrami was burnt and tasted like shoe leather! Hot mustard was mild at best. The sandwiches used to be killer but no more. Want to support this family business but can't handle feeling ripped off.

Great homemade sausage:Italian, Garlic. Good frozen raviolis, but not made on-site. Sandwiches are popular. Service is old style cordial. Funky Deli with pix from the past on the walls.

Went there this weekend with family. Great ravioli and meatballs. Bought some sausage to go. Met Mr. Chiramonte and talked about his Grandfather and the history of the shop. Going back.

Wasn't sure what to expect but was really pleased with the meatball sandwich. Very moist, well seasoned, appropriate amount of tart marinara, nice soft fresh bread -- and less than $10 (I think $8 if I recall correctly). Split one with my husband but we were fighting over it at the end. We also got some long links of chorizo that look very promising for a very good price. Will be back for sure, next time for two sandwiches!Deli supplies are more convenience store style items so manage your expectations there and head straight to the deli counter.

I haven't been back here since I was a kid came by to try the sandwiches out they were kind of out of a lot of stuff but this place was definitely amazing sandwiches are always amazing here and at a reasonable price if you're in town and you want a quick bite to eat they definitely got a nice sandwich
