Was given this place as a recommendation from a friend. I would come back. They serve com tam with a soup. The restaurant was spacious with lots of table. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken quickly. Food came out fast.

I don't care about the new com tam restaurants sprouting everywhere in little Saigon this is my only go-to spot. I've been eating here for over 10 years and the flavor is consistently good. I always order #56 with shredded pork skin, pork chop, shrimp cake and egg cake. Don't forget the pickled garlic either. Hands down the best.

This used to be our favorite com tam pork chop place until this visit. The pork chops came out very dry and overcooked, we had a hard time chewing it, and showed the guy in charge. He was very kind and offered us 2 new pork chops. They came out slightly better but still dry and overcooked like pork jerky. I was sad to hear that they have new kitchen staff and that I may not come back for the quality of the food. The do chua (pickled daikon/ carrots) was so bland and tasteless. The fish cake is still great.

Dat Thanh is very old school. They serve no fuss, delicious Vietnamese food. All of the grilled items are good but my favorite things here are nem nuong, a grilled slightly sweet Vietnamese pork patty and cha gio, fried spring rolls with a light pork filling. The spring roll is one of the best I've had anywhere. I recommend to order the portion with 6 huge spring rolls, or 3 huge spring rolls plus pork patty. I wish them continued success so people can eat good Vietnamese food here for a long time. It's a bit of a hole in the wall---I understand it is expensive to renovate and I don't think they've done that since I was a kid. So to be honest I must give 3 for Atmosphere but don't let it stop you from coming to enjoy the delicious food.

Slow service and pretty bare bones menu. Everything i had was decent hut small portions and very simple. Which is neither good nor bad. It was just a very medium experience.

I ordered a combination rice plate to go. Very large portions, with very tasty food. Be careful of the hot sauce - it's very spicy!

Seem like im not the only person coming up here to highlight the "near food poison" experience. Order two take out recently, x2 times my stomach cannot handle these food. Im from VietNam born and raise/ Army Vet, I have all kind of bad stomach parasites, but one hit different. Dine at your own risk

First off, I want to say I'm Vietnamese, I had my name badge on but my Vietnamese is horrible so I ordered in English. I ordered their most expensive com tam the #7 takeout. For a 24.50$ item, how is the total charge 36 dollars?? He says the price on the menu doesn't include tax twice. In what world is tax 44%? I'm fairly sure he automatically added a hefty tip on TAKEOUT. I was prepared to tip a few bucks but was so offended my own people tried to pull a fast one on me I just canceled my order and walked over to Hawaiian drive in. I have never left a bad review on a Vietnamese restaurant, but that was borderline criminal. I've been coming here on and off for over 20 years and now I'm never coming back and will be recommending com tam spots elsewhere. Do better.

Ordered a tray of Nem Nuong Cuon for a party. This place do not disappoint. Their rolls were wrapped individually for freshly and easily picked up to eat. Their orange dipping sauce is as good a Brodards in SoCal or even better. Would order or eat here if I'm in the area.

Com Tam is my comfort food and this place will now be my go to spot for it. I don't have many opportunities since all Com Tam places are located in SJ. I'm glad I was able to try this spot. Great meat loaf, shrimp cake, pork chop, shredded pork, and pretty much everything to the cucumber!! I love they give you a whole pouring jar of Nuoc Mam. Be careful of the peppers. Extremely spicy.. overall great service and food.

Have been coming here for 20+ years. My dad found this place and introduced it to me. I now take my family to eat here from time to time. It has never disappointed!

Good food, but spartan decor and family, stark atmosphere. Good value, a bit expensive. Always get one to take home too like 3 items marinated pork or beef, shrimp and rice. Lots of peeled scallions. Good pho.
