We ordered 3 menu dishes and they didn't say that they no longer had them but they sold the three dishes but pure tasteless water is passed on in this restaurant and very expensive

Nice place. Friendly staff. Our waitress spoke no english but still understood us. Our food took so long to cook. There were people who walked in after us and got their food first, so that is why the 4 stars but the food was really good. Order steak burrito and enchilada combo plate. All was flavorful. Big portion size as well. If in the area again, will visit.

First time I ate there (couple weeks ago) I was hung over and got menudo. SHMACKED! Some of the best I've had. But again, I was hung over. A few days ago (not hungover) I ordered a super burrito with carnitas and my lady ordered a couple sopes with side of rice and beans. We ordered to go and when we got home, to our surprise, there were no beans or rice. My carnitas were so over cooked and hard to chew that it was like they scraped the bottom of the cazuela to use for my burrito. It took quite a while for them to even notice the line starting to form before anyone acknowledged us. While we waited we had a couple chavelas with the Tajin rim, and it was nice lookin with the slice of pineapple and orange but when she threw iced cubes in it it threw me off. I've heard great things about this place. Maybe I'll try a redemption burrito at one of their other locations.

El Cerrito 2, while cozy in size, the team seemed short-staffed, which understandably slowed things down, and the food was okay - decent but not remarkable. Giving some slack for the staffing challenges, it's a three-star spot with room for growth

If I can give a negative review to this place I would… I just ordered tortillas hecho a mano to go and the Stupid so called waitress Margarita that’s the name on the receipt who doesn’t know basic math or have any customer service, and has a really bad attitude charged me an additional $12.48 credit card service fee because l used my credit card and not cash, why would anyone want to eat there and get penalized for using their credit card.. so beware and bring your cash because if you use your credit card you will be charged credit card service fee and it is not cheap.. I do not recommend this place.

My girl and I came in here to have micheladas and some yummy authentic Mexican food, and that's exactly what we got :) A friend recommended this place so we happened to be in the area so decided to stop by last Saturday afternoon. We came in right at rush hour with growling tummies and were a little skeptical because it looked very busy and we did not want to wait too long. However, I'm so glad we stayed!! The wait time for our food was not unrealistic at all! We first received our micheladas and exactly how I ordered mine (light on the Clamato). So 10/10 for attentive to detail. I received my pozole and my friend her enchiladas Michoacanas on a very timely manner. They were soooo good and we could tell they were authentic! The service was phenomenal, our waitress, Margarita, was very professional and polite. Although they were extremely busy on the weekend, the atmosphere, service, and food quality was outstanding!Don't sleep on this delicious food!

I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars. Came here with my family, I drove around for awhile looking for which taco stand I would try on story and I forgot I didn’t have cash. I became frustrated and stopped here, I heard this place had decent Mexican food from a family member. I honestly was going to leave as soon as I walked in because they had no A/C, this was 90 degree day, and believe it or not it was hotter in there. We sat down and stuck around mainly because they had a DJ which was not to bad, there was one waitress on a Friday evening, 2nd huge red flag. And she was bartending at the same time, that is cheap. She brought us water which had debris, stuff in there, 3rd red flag. I ask for another water after she saw my trying to dig the stuff out of my water, I did it more as a sign of disgust. Still We were hungry and want to try the food. We ordered. And waited,And waited, and waited almost 30 minutes for a burrito and carne asada fries, The heat got to me and asked for it to go, we waited, after 5 minutes of waiting, I was fed up, and wanted a refund. She had the audacity to give me 1.50 less than what I paid, she said it was a 4% credit card fee ??‍♂️ I told her I wanted the full amount that was charged since we did not eat there. This is honestly one of the worst experiences Ive had at a restaurant. They totally deserve to go out of business.

The lights were turned down, the waitress seemed a bit annoyed that we had to audacity to ask for a few minutes before we ordered because we were waiting for our son.The food....never again. The Chile Verde had bones in it; I've never had it with bones before. The meat tasted like it had been cooked in rancid oil. I'm really not trying to be mean, however, our meal was nearly $80 and I left a good tip because I understand that there are "off" days.

4.2/10I am really disappointed with the food. The meat is really dry and chewy, rice has no flavor, beans taste like mush. The best thing about the burrito is probably the onions and cilantro. Even the green sauce is watered down and couldn't save the taste of the burrito. It was ok size, but this is the WORST burrito I've had.I always try a restaurant twice if it's that bad, just to give a fair review, but for now, this is the worst burrito I've had in San Jose or anywhere else

There are apparently two el Cerrito's on white road and I mistakenly ordered at the wrong one on this app. The mckee location tasted off and I ordered a few different items so yeaaah. Stick with this one.
