First time I ate there (couple weeks ago) I was hung over and got menudo. SHMACKED! Some of the best I've had. But again, I was hung over. A few days ago (not hungover) I ordered a super burrito with carnitas and my lady ordered a couple sopes with side of rice and beans. We ordered to go and when we got home, to our surprise, there were no beans or rice. My carnitas were so over cooked and hard to chew that it was like they scraped the bottom of the cazuela to use for my burrito....read full review
El Cerrito 2, while cozy in size, the team seemed short-staffed, which understandably slowed things down, and the food was okay - decent but not remarkable. Giving some slack for the staffing challenges, it's a three-star spot with room for growth

Nice place. Friendly staff. Our waitress spoke no english but still understood us. Our food took so long to cook. There were people who walked in after us and got their food first, so that is why the 4 stars but the food was really good. Order steak burrito and enchilada combo plate. All was flavorful. Big portion size as well. If in the area again, will visit.
