OMGOODNESS! The crepes! First time trying this spot after it's been here awhile. I was craving some crepe after the ramen. Hubby suggested we have it for dessert and it was superb! I have yet to try the rest of the items on the menu but so far with the crepe, it's super yummy!

My first visit to Mochiya at Mitsuwa Marketplace was a delightful experience, offering a quick and savory lunch followed by a sweet treat.I got the matcha Oreo shake. I was curious since it wasn't a drink I'd seen before. it's pretty self-explanatory but I wanted to try it and I was pleasantly surprised by the rich flavor combination. While it may have been blended a bit too much, it made it easier to drink. I usually like to have bits of Oreo to bite (haha) but no biggie, it was still delicious. The workers at Mochiya were incredibly nice and patient. Their attentiveness, including checking if our drinks met expectations, added a personal touch to the service. This dessert place is located in Mitsuwa Marketplace. It has a bookstore next door which is a pleasant area to stroll. It creates an ideal setting to enjoy your drink and explore nearby offerings.I'm glad I tried it for the first time and I look forward to future visits!

I love their drinks. Not too sweet and with good depth and balance of flavor. It is really difficult to find matcha lattes here that taste close to what they have in Japan because although matcha drinks are ubiquitous in the bay area, most matcha drinks are way too sugary and the matcha tastes bad. I'm glad I can go here to get a semblance of what I'd get in Japan.

Located inside Mitsuwa, this place replaced Matcha Love. The fare is pretty similar, offering soft-serve tea-flavored ice creams and drinks. What differs from its predecessor, however, is the addition of fruit mochi (which I didn't try) and sweet crêpes filled with ice cream, similar to the ones made in SF Japantown.I ordered the Kinako, Kuromitsu, and Ice Creme crêpe, selecting the option for a matcha crêpe. The crêpe was delicious, even though I forgot to ask to sub for matcha ice cream (the default is vanilla). The crêpe was a little on the thick side, however.Service was slow, but at no fault of the employees. They were running on a skeleton crew and definitely would benefit from extra hands.

Matcha crepe! Uncommon to find. You can also have mini Mochi balls in your crepe to further the Japanese twist in this modern snack. How unique and lovely is that. The menu is also expansive with other unique Japanese treats like fresh fruits Mochi, Mochi ice cream, Hojicha lattes, with authentic matcha from Kagoshima - latte, crepe, ice cream, Mochi - in any form you could imagine. It’s a boutique stand right next to the entrance of the beloved Japanese Bookstore, Kinokuniya. So there you have it, grab a wonderful treat - a hot Hojicha or a satisfying matcha crepe freshly made to order - to wrap your Japanese bookstore trip, in warmth and in awe.

This review is for Hailey’s excellent service.Today I got a cheese foam matcha drink and didn’t come back til 50 minutes later. Hailey notified me that it has been too long and she has to remake for me. Despite her coworker is on lunch break, she is making crepes, drinks, and on the register taking orders. She made the drink in a short period of time. The cheese foam matcha I ordered is light on ice and I don’t remember I specified the sweet level but it is just right. Matcha flavor is really strong and the cheese foam amount is just right. Will definitely come back.

Yum! My friend and I shared the mochi covered kuromitsu matcha soft serve and it was delicious! There isn't really anything like it in the bay I think, a sheet of soft chewy mochi over delicious matcha soft serve. Not too sweet and good flavor, but the mochi sheet was kinda hard to eat LOL it doesn't cut well with the spoons but is easy to bite thru, so maybe easier to eat alone rather than shared.

Located inside the Mitsuwa Marketplace, Mochiya-Ren was right next to the entrance of the kinokuniya Bookstore. The portions were standard for crepes, but it came in a paper cone so eating it was a bit difficult as I prefer to have a plate to cut and eat it in pieces. It felt like the weight of the crepe was at the top so things got messy quickly. Unfortunately because the crepe was held in a paper cone wasn't tight enough, things got messy as there was a lot of to chocolate from dripping from the bottom of the cone. If they do have the option I'd recommend asking for a plate or extra cone to hold the crepe! Personally I'm not a huge fan of matcha in dessert, but I tried their Matcha crepe skin and it tasted like your standard matcha flavored crepe. I got a strawberry banana ice cream crepe and it was pretty good on a hot day out. 7/10

The fruit mochi here has an inner layer of white bean paste between the mochi and fruit layer. I got the strawberry and mango ones and vastly preferred the strawberry. The mango mochi exterior was too soft and there was too much white bean inside. The mango's white bean paste had a very runny consistency. The strawberry was surprisingly tasty and had the perfect balance of flavor and textures. Mango was a 1/5 and strawberry was a 4/5. Would come back for the strawberry if I was already going to Mitsuwa but won't go out of my way just to get the mochi.

I got the matcha soft serve here, expecting it to have that authentic matcha taste. However, the soft serve looks like a matcha soft serve but tastes like a green-dyed vanilla soft serve with slight specks of matcha. I wish it would have more of a matcha taste. The other items on the menu looks good so I will come back to try the other items. Hopefully it’ll be better than the matcha soft serve.

They make fresh fruit mochi and matcha ice cream/matcha latter. The mochi is fresh and must be consumed by the end of day. Because it uses fresh fruit, it is not too sweet. The combination of fruit and sweet red bean gives a good balance of sweetness and sourness. The only complaint I have is the price.

This place is located inside Mitsuwa. I came during mid afternoon and there wasn't really a line as it was before dinner time. The service was okay as there was some waiting around, there were two workers that were constantly busy with orders so I understood that they may not have been as attentive as they wanted to be. Strawberry Banana Choco Whipped Ice Cream 4/5 - This tasted like your standard crepe with strawberries & bananas, but I can't say this was the best I've ever had. The portion felt a bit small for it being over $11, but it was still enjoyable. I would probably get something else next time I come back.

Got the Blueberry matcha and strawberry matcha drinks on separate occasions. Always very tasty, the fruit compote is sweet and fresh (but not too sweet). The fruit mochi is pretty good (although a bit over priced at times).Would recommend, great selection of snacks and drinks. I need to try the crepes out sometime.

Convenient place to grab ice cream after eating at Ramen Santouka or shopping at Mitsuwa. It's located in the food court right after exiting the cash register aisles. Food court seating can be a little hard to find around lunch/dinner times.Haven't tried the drinks/mochi here, but really enjoyed the hojicha soft serve. The ice cream was very flavorful and the portion size was very generous. Friendly service too!

I was able to choose between matcha dough and regular dough. The crepe paper wasn't wrapped the right way, and the bottom 1/3 was empty, so it wobbled, and all the cream and bananas on top fell out.The dough itself wasn't very tasty either, which was very disappointing.I felt sick after about half way through it and gave up eating it.
