This restaurant gives off a local homie vibe restaurant leaning more towards take out order style. The order is placed at the cash register upfront and names are call/texted to pick up the order. Open seating and self service for the most part. The food was good, but nothing too amazing. The brisket was tender and had some juice. The flavor was on the brisket was on mild side as it didn't taste like much other than it is meat. The ribs were not fall off the bone and were a bit tough. Not sure if it was the weather, the food was on the cool side and not very warm.

First rate barbecue, great beer list -- what's not to like? We went here for the second time and were not disappointed. Brisket is perfectly seasoned and expertly cooked. Burnt ends were a treat. The pulled pork was outstanding. Great casual spot that looks -- well, like a barbecue joint. Highly recommended.

Bbq is decent, brisket and pulled pork will come out cold sometimes. Got pulled pork the other day and more than half of it was fat and not edible. If you sit at the bar, it's tough to get good service. Finished a beer the other day and tried tracking down a bartender for another one which took me about 10-12 mins. Service really isn't great and it almost feels like the employees, including the pit master, couldn't care less about good service. Got voted best bbq in San Jose but what's the other competition?

San Jose staple BBQ spot! Ordered ahead and got the beef ribs as well, which are not typically available. Got a 2 meat combo with potato salad, mac and cheese, and cornbread. Overall a very positive experience! I'd recommend it to a friend. Great!: BRISKET - Super tender and flavorful. They gave me the fatty pieces which are my absolute favorite. POTATO SALAD - perfect chunky consistency with heavy emphasis on pepper and mustard which combine into a beautiful flavor. Honorable mention BBQ SAUCE - their sauce is incredible in my opinion and has great flavor. Half decent: Pork ribs - good smoky flavor, slightly tougher than I like but still pretty tender. Beef ribs - great smoky flavor again. Bottom of the bone was definitely tough, but the top was nice and tender with a beautiful smoke ring. Would be nice if they got rid of the membrane at the bottom, that was super tough. Mac and cheese - creamy, cheesy, and super tender noodles which I really like. Bland in my opinion, could use some black pepper or spices. Straight up bad: cornbread - dry, crumbly, and completely flavorless. Would not get this again!

Extremely Fire! Spicy BBQ Sauce, not sure what they put in the spicy BBQ sauce but if it's spicy, flavorful and burning your skin you know it's good! This has been my go to spot after my chiropractor appointments( it's across the street) . I feel good from my appointment so it's time to eat good!

this is what you want in a BBQ place - delicious meats, tasty BBQ sauce, good sides, corn bread & garlic toast AND a few different desserts to choose from. Had the pulled pork, beans, mac & finished with strawberry rhubarb pie. Every last bite was heaven. Will be going back. AND they're open until 9p - bonus.

This was our first time here. We were a party of 9 people with a bunch of kids. We sat outside mainly tried the brisket and the tri-tip. Both were pretty good. The spicy sauce is pretty good as well.
Very good bbq. The brisket, tri tip and pork ribs had an excellent smoke moist flavor but not overwhelming. The bbq sauce is very good and the coleslaw and potato salad was fresh and tasted home made. I'm a fan.

Restaurant was clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It was bustling and customers seemed content. The chicken BBQ sandwich was good, sauce was decent, nothing spectacular but overall good as well as the beans. Berry cobbler pie was delicious.

Restaurant was clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It was bustling and customers seemed content. The chicken BBQ sandwich was good, sauce was decent, nothing spectacular but overall good as well as the beans. Berry cobbler pie was delicious.

Very disappointing considering how much I spent. Unfortunately the best part was the beer, and not the food. The brisket was very dry and over cooked. My baked potato was old--had to have come from the previous day--absolutely horrible. The place was not clean either--surprisingly dirty. Does anyone there take pride in what they do? Dirty bathrooms, dirty tables, overcooked dry meat, and the best part of the menu was the beer--something you did not prepare; lol. FYI, if you're serving sandwiches you should toast the bread! Mine fell apart immediately because your cooks don't know what they're doing. It's those small details that will keep people coming back, but I won't be there a 2nd time. Recommendation to others--don't waste your time visiting this place. Plus the layout of the registers, tables, etc... is terrible. There's no flow to it whatsoever. Yup--waste of time and money.
